I love your channel🥝✔️. I work both sides of the equation. If persisting with a 4bbl 4180C, just use the MegaSquirt plug and play EECIV, and use it to control the throttle kicker and use the Holley TPS and use the electric choke as an idle crutch. Ford in 85 Carb 4V HOs didn't have a feedback carb, but they used timing tip in and out via Duraspark II pink wire on a BMAP in 85 to crutch the idle..that's what a TSAD is...a gutted out EECIV that allows Rock steady idle via the transmission gear sensor. Every time people go non factory EFi, they screw base idle, emissions and think they know more than Ford. As long as you maintain the grocery list of Process controls, you can basically copy the CFi HO controls on to any 4bbl carb( Holley, Edelbrock, Summit, Carter ThermoQuad, GM RRP Quadrjet), and have it run a rock steady idle. No changes in stock factory emissions gear or Duraspark ignition, just a bowl venting mod, and return line and a TPS and Either ISC fiddle valve or BMAP idle tip in. A clutch and transmission gear switch. They can run on an underseat or passenger side gutted out EECIV. Most of the 3.8 EFi parts are available in the fuel supply side, where as the stock Carb GT fuel pump is vented and usually able to deliver great fuel supply.
If you install a Holley Sniper EFI with timing control, the tuning abilities are amazing and can easily adjust for all present & future mods. On my Olds, I just removed the sending unit from the tank and drilled it for the larger fitting for a feed line to the inline external pump, then ran a new 3/8" line from the pump to the throttle body. The old fuel feed line was inturn used as the return since my car was not factory equipped with one. No need to change gas tanks or sending units!
