Your videos are fabulous learning tool! Thank you once again for taking the time to help educate. Your way of teaching is very clear and understandable.
Really helpful info, as a beginner this was really interesting. I have made the mistake of buying discount fabrics online and then discovered problems with the fabric once it arrives. Thanks for sharing this info.
Thank you for this video! I made cornices for a hotel and the material I was using had about 1/2 to 1 inch drift over 54 inches - just enough to drive one crazy! The cornices were 150 wide x 14 inches. I have a interior decorator friend who made drapery panels for her country cottage from canvas painter's drop cloths! I bought some today. 9x12 for $22! I had heard about it somewhere before. The canvas is made in Pakistan, doesn't have a strong factory smell and comes in 6 oz and 8 oz weights. I'm guessing it is mostly cotton. It's a pleasant light beige color. The last Roman shade I made was probably 6 oz cotton duck. I am thinking about making a couple matching Roman shades for my bedroom. My friend advised me to wash it first. I will have to wash the lining too. Any thoughts? Probably should use a laundromat - ha, ha!
Thanks for watching! I only prewash fabric if it’s going to be washed in the future, but I never wash Roman shades because I don’t want to take them off the mounting board! 😁
I’m so sorry but I rarely shop for fabric online. I like to touch, feel, bring samples into the room etc. I’m fortunate to have local resources so I’ve never had to rely online stores.
I think you've explained the mystery of why my curtain panels aren't quite the same length, despite my care in cutting through the pattern. Fortunately, the difference is hidden behind the bed tables. 🤨
Thank you for posting these videos. You are a great instructor and have helped me in my sewing journey!
Thank you! I'm so glad I've been able to help you learn!

Please talk about reliable sources to find fabric.
Thanks for the info! You put me up on game with things I didn't know when shopping for fabric.
Thank you

Thanks for the tips. Can you suggest some online fabric outlet stores?

Wonderful! I learned a lot!

The stuff that goes wacky in the weaving and printing process is pretty amazing!
Where do you suggest shopping online?! Not necessarily for discounted fabric but for reasonably priced fabric?
I don’t live in an area with many hobby or fabric stores! I’d much rather buy local but with sewing, it’s impossible!
Great Tips!
