    Now is the perfect time for a DAC, most streaming services are offering lossless. Im poor man but im saving for a decent DAC. I feel this one is it. Thanks.

    I don't get the issue of connecting it if you have an iPhone, if you want to connect your iPhone with a lightening port to anything digitally you need the camera adapter. This comes in two types the slim original and the wider one that allows you to charge at the same time. The slim adapter which is what I have end in a USB 3 female and so connects straight into the hipdac, the hipdac is actually more convenient to use with an iPhone than a USB C Android device, it does come with a USB C OTG cable though, if you want a longer one it's 5 bucks or So?

    Great video I'm thinking on pulling the trigger on one of these in 2024 , I'm using the Fostex T20RP also but you never mentioned what the driving power of the hip dac was like with the Fostex? Some forums are saying it's not compatible, What's your experience?

      It works absolutely fine with Apple lossless, most Apple lossless is a maximum of 44.1 or 48k @ 24 bits but if you want to select the highest bitrate possible in Apple Music the hipdac can handle it but there is practically no music on Apple Music at that rate, this is if using an iPhone or iPad, Android is limited to 44.1 for streaming unless use Tidal with additional software which I have tried and again works fine with hipdac. The hipdac is basically the Zendac v1 but slightly more powerful actually, I use balanced output to my Sennheiser 6xx’s with xbass often on and it sounds excellent with Apple Music in lossless mode.

      It works just fine with Apple hi res files. Although the amount of 24/96 and higher files are in short quantities. Hopefully Apple will continue to improve. I was really surprised that Apple made just about every album lossless! Thh he eyes sound great on my Hip-Dac and iBasso IT01 IEMs. Amazing great sound for less than $250!

    • @adrianmorrish8494
      @adrianmorrish8494 3 года назад +1

      You can charge it and use at same time, so you have the USB 3 for data connection recessed into the body which is the most rugged connection you can get aka it's meant for your pocket, and a seperated standard USB C for charging. You can stick it on a desk and use it as a desk amp dac, all controls are on tne front and you can continuously charge it. As for battery wear in terms of charging cycles plugged in it won't go below 85% so shouldn't effect it.

      Biggest issue I have with hipdac is no line out. So if you want a desk setup of same type you basically have to buy the same unit twice, once as hipdac and once as zendac.

      Yes you are right there's double amping. But Zen Dac also did the same thing with 4.4 to 4.4 output to ZenCan. To avoid double amping u can try to test it at the local ifi distributor store who comes with Zen Dac & Can. And try the Zen dac on fixed mode (4.2v) to Zen Can on the volume level then change to your hipdac 4.4 output to ZenCan with Gain/Xbass off and try to get the same volume of what zendac does .
      Hope u understand,
