Protecting your capital is much more important than making money. Basically because if you lose your capital, making money is much harder. ''Missing the train'' vs. ''losing your money''. There are a lot of trains, but if your money is gone, it's over.

Glad you mentioned this bro. My biggest flaw in my trading has been, not paying myself when I need to. I’ve been up in hella profit so many times and have given it all away because I have these grand expectations and think I know the market better than I do. I have to learn to take what the market gives me or what I’m able to extract from the market. I’ve made this mistake too many times, 2023 this ends. Merci beaucoup!
just got stopped out 10 mins ago smh. was up 1:5 too but i was so confident that it was gonna go up one more time. never had a 1:5 in a very long time too but i guess lesson learned. got greedy and got rekt

That happened to me today with GU, was up was up 100% on my account and because of greed, I didn’t close or take partial profits. Ended up with a little over 40% profit

Counter trend trading is apart of the market rotation and understanding market psychology. Being a professional trader you are indeed needing to know market rotations and knowing when and why the market reverses and continues. If you base your strategy on just trend trading you miss out on 50% of trades. Working for a firm you definitely would get fired if that couldn’t understand between the two.
