- Union Pacific has a myriad of former CNW lines in the Midwest. One of the more unique ones is the trackage from Adams, WI to Winona, MN. This see's LTA41 and LTA42, and used to be a scheduled train that always had a caboose. When this was shot in 2017, one could nearly set your watch on how this train ran. It would shove out of Winona, and usually followed Amtrak until Tunnel City.
In this video, we'll see an SD60 leading a GP60 and SD40N, as they waste no time getting LTA over the CP, and onto UP rails in Tunnel City, WI. We start off in Dakota as the classic EMDs race along the Mississippi River, and a former Missouri Pacific caboose brings up the end of the train. After that, we'll the trio of EMDs blaring their horn as they zip through West Salem, WI. The final shots are taken in Tunnel City as LTA gets back on their own railroad.
