It’s nice that the water is shallow for so long. Growing up in Monterey Bay where there is essentially a Grand Canyon just off the coast, the water gets deep really fast. Our waves break like 50 feet from the sand.

Does anyone know the purpose of walking back and forth from one end of the surfboard to the other? Is it necessary for stability, or are they just having fun? I'm not a surfer, just genuinely curious.
Yeah we have some nice mellow surf breaks on Oahu. But never start surfing with no surf instructors.. you need to find good surf schools and they give you great experience and tips for surfing! Aloha ❤️

I am in the Carolinas, the waves break close to the shore. If a storm is off shore the waves will dump You onto the sand!

Yes it’s a challenge to walk to the nose and ride it. Takes a lot of skill
Yes it's hard to do but it's like doing a trick with grace and style. You'll understand when you start doing a lot of longboard surfing 😊✌🏽

Not sure, could be choppy or sometimes the level of power in the waves have a lot to do with how well people can keep balance on the board 🤷🏻♀️
