I was chatting with an armored truck driver while he refilled an atm the other day and i mentioned where was his partner. and he said for the last 3 months he's been alone. I felt bad because i'm pretty sure i made him nervous, which wasn't my intent.
Armored trucks have two or three people no0rmally. They have armored vans that are manned by one driver, usually for routes that don't carry a lot of cash.
I remember when 3 was standard. Driver, courier, and guard. Just in terms of a passive deterrent, it makes sense. There are always gonna be less robbers who want to rob a 3-person team vs a 1-person team.
I'm sure the company just looks up the cost of paying two people, and the amount of loss on average, and if it's more to pay two people, they cut one. It's sad how companies value money over safety/ lives. Unfortunately, that's how it is a lot of times.

Well to be honest I think only time you see armored trucks like Brinks doing there jobs is In broad daylight. I don't think I ever seen one transporting money at night. So when else do you expect them to get rob.

I start working as a armored truck driver in a few weeks when all the background checks go thru. Only get paid 16 per but I'm in the middle of bumfk Missouri where the dollar goes a lot further than California and most other places. After a month or two it goes to 18.50, as well I get to wear a bulletproof vest so that's kinda cool. Idk. Lol

There's a story from years ago of a female employee who worked for brinks that got robbed and fired. I'd never do armored trucks for less than $20 an hour or less than 3 other guards besides me in a run. One to watch my back and two to guard the truck and it's contents
I start working as a armored truck driver in a few weeks when all the background checks go thru.
Only get paid 16 per but I'm in the middle of bumfk Missouri where the dollar goes a lot further than California and most other places.
After a month or two it goes to 18.50, as well I get to wear a bulletproof vest so that's kinda cool. Idk. Lol

Its Illinois, where they make it impossible to get a concealed license. And even if you had one you couldn't carry it into that bar. All bars or any place that serves alcohol are gun free zones. And, even if you did shoot those robbers you'd probably get arrested since you are escalating the situation when your life isn't the one that is in danger
