I'm a new subscriber. This is stunning! So beautiful that I immediately went to home depot to pick up a couple of blue paints, I actually have everything else on hand. I'm going to do this is my master bathroom right now. I'm so grateful and excited. I was having a hard time deciding what I wanted to do on the remodel of my house. As soon as I saw this I knew it would be perfect for this space. You're hugely talented and I hope you continue making videos. Thank you!
Awe thank you Carolyn for taking the time to watch the video and writing such a nice comment! It means the world to me. Have fun creating your marble masterpiece!
@@becacastel8978 I'm having a little trouble with getting the veining to look natural. Any suggestions? I've never painted anything art related before, only basic interior painting. Thanks again!
Hi Carolyn, I would suggest you practice on thick white paper. Like canvas paper, you can get at Micheals for $10. This way you can practice the lines until you get the look that you want. Always start the lines light. Like water down the paint a little bit and get the light gray and paint the lines as if the marble is "craking". The lines are never really straight they are kinda rounded lines that organically spread out. Hope this helps!
@@becacastel8978 Thank you so much for the reply! I bought some canvas yesterday actually. I'll get to work on it immediately. I'm so excited. I'll update you when I complete the project. I look forward to your future videos to come. Thank you again for sharing your talents with the world. We all love your work! ❤ 💜 ♥

When you want to paint over the wall down the road, what kind of primer do you use to cover the glossy varathane?
Hi Pam, great question. I would use a good quality white flat paint that has a primer in it. For example if you have a Sherwin Williams store near you I would get the "Emerald Category" paint in a flat white paint & primer in one. That would be enough to cover it. If you try to cut corners and get a cheap white flat paint you will be spending more time and coats to cover it.
Could you use a roller to apply the clear gloss easier?
It looks more like poured paint art than marble.
Looks great on that wall.
Thank you! Cheers!
nice 🎉
Thanks 😊
Super
Thank you!
I am planning to 'marble-ize' my old bathroom countertop. Not sure if the same general technique will work though, especially since its surface isn't completely smooth. I'll sand it before I start but do you have any other tips? Thanks!
Hi Anita! Thank you for asking. With countertops, you can use the same painting techniques to get the effect. However, the type of paints and clear varnish/sealer that you are going to use will probably be different. Especially with the varnish, you need it to be waterproof and heavy-duty for durability purposes. I would look up videos specifically for painting countertops so you know what would be the best paints and clear sealer for maximum durability.
👏👏
Can this be done just using normal emulsion paint please
Can you explain me base colour white oil or water then more colors water or oil?
Hi Arman. I don't quite understand your question but I'll explain what type of paint I used. In this video I used acrylic LATEX paint for the base. This type of paint is basically your regular house paint. The base is latex not water. BUT for the added detail on top I used regular acrylic canvas paint that is water based. I DO NOT recommend paint with oil paints when doing these projects. It takes way too long to dry (several weeks) and smells terribly. I hope this answers your question!
Is there a reason why you do not start out with a high gloss paint?
Mi proyecto final del 2021...,,
Que bueno! :)
can we just use acrylic sealant if it's a smaller design?
pls reply
That is a good question. If you are creating this effect on a wall, then I highly recommend using the gloss that I used in the video. However, if you are doing this effect on a canvas then you can definitely use an acrylic sealant.
What type of paint do you normally use for these wall paintings?
Hello,do u wait for base colour to dry before u add another layer, and judging by the big space how do u maneuver, e.g..do u do the base colour on the entire wall and continue on the next day with another layer?
Great question! The paint dries within 30 seconds, so you can do the layering pretty quickly. Since it is a big wall, I like to cover the whole wall one layer at a time. This helps keep the overall look of the mural consistent. Depending how fast you work, will depend how many layers you can do each day. Hope that helps. Feel free to ask me any other questions!
@@becacastel8978 thanks for the reply, there's another one, about the last layer, the polyuthrane thing u use,can I use something like wood varnish or lacquer as a substitute, because most of these products are sometimes not sold or even heard in most of the south African countries,im from Ghana by the way. One more thing, try letting us know as to how many days it takes u in terms of working on a big bigger project.eg.if it's a big project u r working on;show it or tell us in the video, u will add another layer the next day, something like that so that we will get a great grasp on what u r teaching us,I just love ur art style, stay blessed
I love the way u paint, it’s not messy, like I do😹
Awe thank you for the compliment! Trust me I make a mess when I paint lol but I always make sure to clean up before I shoot the video. Also, buying plastic sheets for the floor is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for an easy clean up.
Looks great! How many hours did this take not including the basecoat and topcoat?
Great question! It honestly it took me about 5 days to do. I averaged about 5-6 hours a day. The main thing is adding layers upon layers of "marble" to make it look realistic. Those subtlety in the darks and highlights take time to build but the end results are stunning.
@@becacastel8978 thanks for your response! I may be attempting something like this and wanted to know what I'm getting into. I can imagine so many layers!
This was soooooo helpful!!!! Especially the “veins” -
I was stuck! I’ll post pic soon!
Yay :) I'm so happy that I was able to help! Send me your fin mural on IG: @beca_castel Love to share the work of my fans.
This is by far the beat video on marbling I’ve seen!! I’ve tried it out in my bathroom but I can’t find the gloss. I have found clear wood varnish but I’m not
Too sure it works. Do you know if it would Work?
Hi! That's awesome that you did it! You can find the gloss that I used in the video description. They sell it online or instore at Homedepot or Lowes. I've never used a clear varnish for wood before so I can't tell you how it would come out. Are you doing the marble on a wall or on furniture?
Beca Castel the marble is on the wall. It’s turned out good. But I asked for clear gloss and they have me a slightly tinted varnish. Still came out really good. Thank you
@@Ayceyboy14 that's great! If you have Instagram I would love for you to send me a pic of the marble tag me @beca_castel .I would love to see how it came out :)
Can u use lacquer as a substitute to the polyurethane thing, also adding the days it took u for the process in your videos will really help us better our scope of learning......your art style is always amazing, keep on keeping on and stay blessed.
Yes you can! It took my about 5 days (6hrs each day) to do this wall. The wall was about 8 ft tall and 20 ft wide.
👍
great work but the random loud music is quite unnecessary..
Thank you! Ugh I know.. it was a terrible video editing error.
👏👏👏💕
💕💕💕💕
Can we use Amsterdam acrylic though it's thicker?
Hi Natasha! I've never used Amsterdam Acrylic so I wouldn't be able to tell you if it will work or not. However, if the paint is thick you will just need to wet it more to dilute it. It can possibly work. Let me know if it does!
Hi Beca. this is very beautiful and I liked it. Great work by the way. I love painting and I have decided to get serious with the art so I wouldn't mind a tip on what tools would you recommend. And also, most times my challenge is knowing the kind of paint to buy. I am from Nigeria and I presume most of the paint I see used on RUclips can't be found in Nigeria. But I also believe there are similar kinds of paint that can be accessed here. I would like to know whether the paints you used in this video were oil paints. Kindly guide me through the choices of paints to use. I have just subscribed to your RUclips channel
Hi Okpe! Thank you so much for your comment. I would love to help you! The paints that I used in the video are mostly house paint and acrylic. To be honest, with you any basic acrylic paint works well. It's all about HOW you use the paint that is important. I would recommend the brand 'Arteza". You can buy it online on their website. They are very well priced and of great quality. Hopefully, they ship to Nigeria! I'm going to do a video about the art supplies that I use soon, so make sure to stay tuned! Hopefully, that will help. let me know if you have any other questions. :)
How long after painting white do you paint other colors?
Once the white wall is completely dry, that is when i start painting the other colors.
Wow 😍😍😍😰😰😰😰
Thank you for the appreciation!
Could you please link the image you used as a reference
RUclips does not let me put the pdf link of the image. I do show the image reference that i used to create this mural in the video. I would just pause the video when you see it and then take a screenshot of the design. That would be the easiest. Thanks for watching!
Mashallah
Thank you! :)

Best instruction and amazing art!
BUT THE MUSIC WAS WAYYYY TOO LOUUUUUUUD 🙈
Thanks! Yes i know 😭 My video editing skills has gotten MUCH better since I created this video lol
Hi sister how are you it’s really wonderfull and amazing work.
I’m from Pakistan want to work with you and gain this talent in which country you from.
I would have designed a blue box to cover the thermostat and made the background a little bigger to camouflage it.
Comment down below and tell me what you think! Love to hear your feedback :)
The loud music is unnecessary, great tutorial. Remember just like most arts, simple is best
Nothing like marble.
How much you charge?
I want this in my room but this looks difficult to achieve
I would reccomend trying to do this on a small wall or on a poster board first so that you can practice before doing it on a big wall.
Could this work with metallic paint?
Great question! This can possibly work with metallic paint. However, metallic paint dries very very fast and can be kinda transparent when you wet it. I would recommend using a regular paint first as a base color. Then you can add a metallic paint on top of it as an accent.
@@becacastel8978 okay cool, thanks!
👌👌👍👍👍👋👋💕💕💕
Thank you! :)
This is so awesome, damn Kudos to you girl. But my question is what if I don't want to use that vanish you used can I use resin instead and if I'm using that same vanish you used can I apply it with a paint roller instead of using a brush? Thanks.
Great question! Resin is a fabulous varnish. However, its best used when the surface is falt on the floor so the varnish can even out settle properly. If you are doing thus upright on the wall I'm afraid it will be too thick and run down creating streaks. That is why i chose this varnish instead. However, It does not mean you can't experiment with the resin and let me know it works out! You can use a roller to apply but make sure you get those specific roller for painting furniture. Also, get best quality one too. Please take your time applying the varnish. It's a beautiful affect but you need a lot of proper lighting and patience for it come out perfect!
The marble design work is very good
Im working on a marble wall efect , and oh gush its so hard
Good luck! Let me know if you need any help!
Did u make your necklace? I love it 😍... Tutorial?
Thanks :) I get so many compliments on that necklace! It was given to me as a gift.
Please giving me the picture I want paint thiss
That is great to hear! If you go on my video and go to 4:21 you can take a screenshot of the picture I used to create this mural.
