At the beginning of the video, I initially thought this blower got dropped off the back of a truck. Seeing that it's basically a handheld, it all makes sense now. Hopefully it won't be too much more of a PITA. Cheers!
Lol I just fixed one for my dad and also made a video of it but I do not have it posted yet😂 The blower flex tube is also decent I grating and can not find an after market one so we repaired the best we can but I have another blower tube that I could possibly make it work if I have to
👍Thank you for another great video. I think the metering diaphragm is toast on it. I would just replace it and adjust the needle with the W tool, since I think its a walbro
Those are actually pretty easy to do the rope on . The problem arises with shop labor rates . Looking at 80 bucks for the rope and usually the rope broke because it had a starting problem so comes fuel lines and carb work and at that point one better really love that blower ! When that blower came out labor rates were around 50-60 now it's north of 100 an hour and those were 80 bucks new.
That crank case seal that is on where the plate holds the gas tank could be bad, I had to take that off and make a new gasket and put some gasket maker permatex and it made it worked and I trouble shooted it by spraying carb clean around it
I have the craftsman version and I did have to do the recoil on it and yes you may have to take the whole thing apart just to get out the thing but hey they’re cheaper and if you ever break them I’d rather have something break break something cheap
Can we all agree Homelite is like the worst bottom of the barrel garbage to ever come out of the US? I had to trim a quarter inch off two ventilation fins on my Homelite saw just to prevent the stupid sparkplug wire from getting squished against the housing and cut open by the fins. Absolutely horrible designs and dubious material quality.
Not a big fan of the back pack design....to much crap added to a simple design of a hand held blower....I stick with hand held (GAS)......works for me...
Usually, the cheaper blowers are either twice as hard to fix, or blindingly easy👍
that's true
Lot of difference between getting one and having one. Blessings 2 U!
so true
I have 2 like that. They both run but i hate having to replace the pull cord. I would definitely pass on the next one like that
me too!

thank you The Lawnmower Lady!
Nice demonstration and I would have done the same thing with that mount. I have some washers with rubber on one side that I might have tried as well.
hey nice idea!

I'll have to take a look when you get it posted.

yep, my thoughts too, thank you !

When I buy them, I always plan for bigger issues when the rope is broken
you make a good point
I like that plan
This used to be my dream leaf blower
nice!
TY for Sharing
You bet
That crank case seal that is on where the plate holds the gas tank could be bad, I had to take that off and make a new gasket and put some gasket maker permatex and it made it worked and I trouble shooted it by spraying carb clean around it
you're definitely right about the seal being a cause for this sort of issue.
I just got a free mower that someone gave away and I'm going to fix it, the carburetor is sitting on top of the gas tank which is cool
yes that design is a good one, only have to worry about the diaphragm is all.
I'll fix it tomorrow so that way my brother has a mower
That looks like a handheld blower that’s just been bolted on to a backpack plate 😅
Edit: oh wow it really is 😂
BR200 equivalent maybe?
yes that's what I thought too.
I just tried to fix the hand held version of this and the recoil spring broke. It's sitting in my scrap Pyle now!
I have one in my pile as well.
Hopefully that’s an adjustable carb
yes sir it is, but what happens later on Is not good.

for sure and i have worked on these engines before and they are way better than the improved design version and that,s for sure.
thank you!
@@INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE my pleasure mate.
Your right i saw that layffet Indiana is banning gas leafblowers January 1 2024. Chris from OHIO
thank you for letting us know and it's a real shame.
Interesting
That thing literally looks like a handheld blower changed just enough to mount on a backpack.
agreed
Hey bro what's up? I'll make a hard pass on this blower bro however if it was from a brand I use all the time, I'll most definitely take it.
I hear ya.
That would be a hard no. I have the blowers that l want so l wouldnt need this lovely piece of engineering...
I like the way you put that.
Homelites are really badly designed, I tried to fix the handheld blower and the handle totally broke off, rather have a cheap Chinese one.
they certainly are made to a cost
