Somerset & Dorset Class 7F 53809 at the North Norfolk Railway 8th October 2022. This 2-8-0 designed by Fowler was ideal for the steep gradients of that route. It was built at Darlington in 1925. Two of these locos are in preservation. Later in the video it is teamed with LNER teak-bodied "Quad-Art" carriages in splendid condition, built in 1924. Note the bogies articulate between the carriages giving them high capacity to length. This made them ideal for London commuting with sharp bends and short suburban platforms.
