(Probably Not) Hot Take: Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has the BEST AND MOST FUN TRAVERSAL IN ANY VIDEO GAME EVER MADE SO FAR. ❤❤❤
The traversal is just PEAK in this game !!
Idk about every single game but it's defo the best in every single spiderman game
The only game I can think of that could compete with this traversal system was Sunset Overdrive and Insomniac literally made that game too. Those guys are cracked.
Man, I love this game! The swinging is faster, and more fun, and the webwings just add an extra umph to the traversal. The sliding on water move really gave me flashbacks to another one of their games, Sunset Overdrive (Microsoft I hate you for killing this franchise and never giving us a second game). Also, what's with all the hate for the webwings? They make webswinging too easy?! They lower the skillceiling?! SO what? If you don't like them, don't use them! The webswinging is literally as hard or as easy as you want it to be in this game. Also, You're only forced to use them a few times in the campaign and I'll take a few forced gliding sections any time of the day over another Mary Jane mission.
Plus you’re not forced to use the web wings
Now the swinging, besides the loop de loop/ corner tether and slingshot. There’s still very lack of variation.
Cons- You can’t slingshot up while running on wall, you can’t grid while swinging. Can’t grind on surfaces while parkour BUT YOU CAN SURF ON THE WATER??? Can’t manually double hand web zip/ there’s no creative ways to pull yourself upwards to start swinging (just slingshot or point launch) no web tunnels thru shops/ windows/ helicopters. All of those things were missing and it was what I really disappointed about, that’s why the game didn’t blow me away and didn’t deserve game of the year
