I am day 5 into immediate dentures, and have been unfortunate enough to get a dentist, that did a poor job of convincing me, this monstrosity in my mouth are supposed to be my quality final dentures, after a 6 month hardline, for a final product. I on the other hand have been mortified, to the point of tears, multiple times per day! This whole thing has been a total nightmare beyond describing!!! i must be the patient, that had greater bone loss than anticipated, because from day one, my dentures are insane big and loose!!! I've taken pictures today, watched a couple of videos, yours by far, told me everything i needed to know, to make informed choices for myself!!! I sincerely thank you for that!!! One would have thought $15,000.00, would have at least included the truth!!! Won't be the first time, I had a hard lesson learned in life. I ahould be a genius by now! lol Here I sit, on day 5 of my vacation, and don't even want to talk to anyone on the phone! Seen my 64 year old brother at the dollar store, as I was trying to sneak in under my hat, and curly hair. I barked at him, not to look at me, then I went into the store. When he came in, with a confused, and concerned expression, I barked again, I don't want you to see me, he said why? I replied, I'm ugly, of course my loving brother said, you're not, can I give ypu a hug, and tell you I love you? Reluctantly I conceded, but did not look at him. But with all the info I have gotten with you , I can honestly say I’m more confident in this journey. Again what I understand is your only going to be as good as the maker of your Dentures are. Day 6 with immediate dentures. Thus far the thing I dread is the pain or pinching inserting the uppers. The lowers float out when drinking water. I have next dental appt. In a few days. Other than missing a burger, I'm surviving OK on smoothies. Pasta works by swallowing a gulp of water each spoon. Lastly, I've got faith this entire process will work, since I've had to pawn my 1st born to pay for the ability to chew & smile again in 6 months. :-)
I'm about a month since surgery...upper only...it is slowly getting better, brutal tho for about 3wks...1 soft reline was a life saver...for real, was getting depressed and stuff...good luck
I recently had 4 on 3 implants, the experience with Western Dental in Torrance, California WAS HORRIBLE!! the dentist didn't know what cap size to put on my implant, it seemed that he was experimenting or guessing on the different sizes that didn't fit the snap on dentures that I paid $8000 out of pocket, not to mention them not fitting. I got temporary dentures at first(which were made really nice) I had expressed to him that I wanted the same shape, size, and color for my snap in dentures, just like the temporary ones so he assured me that I would love my snap ons. Well he lied!! I couldn't get them damn things off my mouth I ended up with severe anxiety, pain and sores straight up welts in my mouth. Anyway the bottom ones snap on ok, not very good but just ok, now the top ones cause me so much pain on my gums, they don't fit at all!! One side tries to snap when I'm struggling to snap them on but the other side, (which it took him 3 hrs forcing the upper dentures on one side to fit the very first time) ( I was literally crying yelling at him that it was very very painful and to stop forcing them on my mouth) he didn't even numb me, he was shaving them from all sides that he put some reline putty on one side of the denture cuz he shaved it too much, the denture looked lopsided!. I don't know what to do? The upper dentures make me bleed on my gums, and they don't fit snug, but tooo tight!! He used a thick Mil screw on the side that bothers me , it doesn't snap in place at all. Only I snap snaps and the rest are not the right size for the little holes on my den tires to be able to fit. He forced them in my mouth the day I went home with my snap one but because I begged him to numb my upper gums I didn't feel much pain after all the excruciating pain he caused me before he decided to numb my gums and snap those dumb ugly looking things in my mouth. Whoever made my implants was either stupid, simple, or slow, OR simply didn't give a sh*"l on how the dentures would look or even fit. My 3 yr old has better craftsmanship when she makes things with pla-doh, than these denture making IDIOTS!. Can you help me on how , or what can I do to get my $8000 dentures to fit! What can I do? I'm a afraid to go back to these botching dentists because I'm afraid that they are only gonna make things worse, and I rather leave the outcome that might happen, to God because if I take care of it, IM GOING TO JAIL!.😷😖 I thank you for your informative videos and your time.🙂
What is the difference between a valplast partical vs the metal one. I use to have a metal one bit I was allergic to the metal my dentist just said you cannot adjust the valplast one it is an upper one
I got my teeth pulled in July and just yesterday the end of October went in for my wax tryan and I could not believe how huge my dentures were on me and what bothering me the most was my upper lip it look like I had something stuffed under my upper lip. My upper lip is like protruding out like it looks like the upper lip of a mouse. I've seen the same thing on other people who got them as well. How do you make it to where my upper lip doesn't look like this like what is wrong here? I really need some help I went in for my wax try in today and just cried so so hard because I thought oh my God I don't want to look like this at all. My dentist sent my dentures back into the lab to see if maybe they can make the teeth smaller but I'm afraid that this is not going to help the fact that the gums are still too big what do I do? Please please help
What about on medicade Wisconsin because I went ti try mine on yesterday and they looked horrible in my mouth teeth were long and big...I want them to be shorter and wider and when I asked they acted like I asked for too much
I recently received a new upper denture *and* lower partial (not my first for either one). The upper denture felt odd in my mouth, and I just contributed it to the newness. After a few days it wasn't better. It actually felt like the upper denture palate was slanted while in my mouth. I looked in the mirror, smiled and sure enough it was slanting down to the right. My gum line is showing more on this side also. I put my 3-year-old denture back in (to compare), and it was straight with gum lines barely showing. Okay, now I'm confused. Looking closer at the new denture, it has less gum over the teeth on the left than on the right, which would explain why the gum shows more on the right side when I smile. When I set the denture down on a flat surface, the teeth are flush with the surface. But when I turn it around to look at the back angle, I can see the pallet area is slanted. I also can see (while in my mouth) the lower partial sits lower on the right, which makes sense if the upper denture is slanting down on the right. When I received the new denture & lower partial it was hitting on the right side and the dentist did some adjusting on the lower partial for it. It didn't do much, I couldn't eat with them, so I went back a week later for more adjustments. Again, the dentist is adjusting on the right side of the lower partial and upper denture again and again. It's still hitting but I thought maybe because it's sore and I'd wait and see, but it's still hitting on the right, so I have to go back. How much more can he grind on the right??? Will he start grinding on the left??? Will I have any left to grind??? Will he ruin my new denture and partial???? Sorry, I was venting there. Anyway, I brought it to his attention that the upper was slanted. He said he could see it and grinded off some of the top right wall of denture. It was a bit better but still not straight to me. I asked him if the impression could have been incorrect, and he said "No" because of the type of material that he uses. He said everyone's mouth is different and things also change. By the way, impressions were done with trays. I'm just not convinced he is right and that he's making excuses (in an abrupt tone), so he doesn't have to redo them. I get the impression (no pun intended 😁), that time is money and that it's about quantity and not quality with him. Not a good look. So, in a nutshell I just want to know if I'm crazy or not. If I am then I'll let it go and move on. But if I'm not crazy then I need to play my cards differently. I did call another dentist office and briefly explained why I wanted an opinion on a new denture and partial. The receptionist said she would "run it by the doctor" and call me later in the day. That was 2 days ago, and no call back. Are dentists hesitant to do opinions on another dentist's work? Do dental offices talk to each other? Would I be wasting my time calling a different dental office? Sorry for such a lengthy comment but there was no short way around it. lol I would truly appreciate any input!
Look on his diploma...His name might be Dr Gaslight DDS "Could the impression have been incorrect?... No because of the type of material that he uses" LMAO The old Alginate based impression material wasn't as accurate, but a bad impression isn't prevented by better material. There are many places a careless Tech can screw up a denture.

Im 41 I couldn't afford my temporary dentures. I had to go straight to permanent and nothing about them is correct. I unfortunately am stuck with them till my insurance allows me to get new ones because my insurance pays 100% of permanent ones.
I went yesterday to affordable dentures to get the ok to wear my immediate dentures for the first time. After coming home I realized they are extremely bulky to the point I can not talk. I don’t want to be a horrible nagging patient but I was in tears because of how bad it is. I called & they will see me in 5 days to see what they can do. I just wonder if that is ok of me to call them & going right back. I know they can’t be perfect right now but I think I should at least be able to talk a little bit. And even close my mouth without it looking open showing teeth. Thank y’all for sharing this information.
hey Sonia. sorry to hear that. but yeah go in and have them at least reline your dentures. if they truly dont fit after that have them remake your dentures
I 💯 feel you on that this is horrible 😢 I'm 36, and these are dentures really just for looks. I don't eat with them. I have a dentist appointment soon, but I feel dude just took my money 💰. It's been using them for only 2 and a half months 😢 I'm depressed 😔 I don't ho anywhere, and my gums have shrunk crazy. And he didn't say anything about this MY fault, and he did just pull my teeth out and then the dentures. Wow! I can say I got hustled for the first time by a dentist, LOL! My problem is that my extractions and dentures were possible because of a dental program which I'm very grateful for because without the dental program I would not have been able to financially, BUT because of the dental program helping me, I received Only one set of dentures which means my immediate dentures are my Permanent Dentures. So now after almost 2 years my one set immediate/permanent dentures do Not fit at all anymore because of all of my gum changes and because the dentures are not made well at all. So when I'm home I am always toothless (no dentures) and I eat all of my food with just my gums. I don't work so I'm home almost always, but when I do need to go to an appt, etc I have to use a lot of denture adhesive and hope like heck that I can get my dentures to at least fit for awhile just for looks. Forget trying to eat with my one set of dentures because it just doesn't work. My bottom is a immediate denture snap in but it doesn't snap in anymore and because of all my gum changes the snaps don't line up anymore. So i'm screwed.
I'm so sorry to learn and read about your experience, but sadly b/c you went through a dental prgm due to limited financial access I am not surprised as I can relate. I pray hopefully that you can save and be able to have better suited/fitted dentures elsewhere that you actually can enjoy and be comfortable in. The good news is that what can be most costly, as in total extractions is already done. I can tell in less than a yr how much my mouth now sags and how much muscle I've lost since 11/01/2022 without dentures.
I have a new set of upper and lower partials. The back teeth on the lower right don't even touch! The dentist said this is normal. I don't think so. Whoever made this partials messed them up! What's the deal with this doc?
I just got my dentures right after they pulled my last of my teeth. They didn’t put stitches and I was bleeding all night. Didn’t call me in antibiotic. I had to go to my doctor to the antibiotic, he was upset that I was in such bad shape. I was on antibiotics for three weeks. I had to go to a deferent dentist to get stitches put in. I can’t close my mouth the dentures are so big, I can’t swallow with them in my mouth or talk with them in. So I’m having to what till after the first of the year to get to have some kind of teeth in my mouth. My insurance is all used up now. It’s been going on 3 months now. Thank god for mask. But not ones did anyone say anything to me about what they gave me not being my permanent dentures. I would have given anything if I had gone to a deferent dentist in the first place. I was losing my teeth because of cancer medicine. It makes you feel like you can’t win for losing. And to have a dentist to do that to me or anyone as fare as that goes. Wish I lived in Texas were you two are
This dentist knew our dentures didn't fit on my husband and myself yet she hasn't tried to fix it even a bit we're eating food on our gums yet the state paid her plus 💰 out of our pockets and we're seniors on a fixed income!!
I've gone 6 months with nothing no teeth and in two weeks I will have permanent dentures. Also I'm going to OSU .So far going with out teeth only on certain foods well no go but my speech is perfect and my friends and family are wowed, so here's hoping it stays the same.I will make it work and worth it.

Why do my dentures not fit? Because my gums are like West Virginia! I wasn't going to waste money on permanent Dentures until My gums stopped adjusting...I had partials about 10 years ago. Shrinking gums and shifting teeth made them unwearable in less than 6 months. I hear too many horror stories to spend big bucks on dentures only to have them unusable...again.( I do have dental insurance, but it doesn't pay much) My temporary solution is Jesse Dent DIY. I'm not going to recommend it. The 1st problem is the cheap Chinese Acrylic teeth. Medium may be medium for 500 million Chinese, but not well nourished Americans! If you have a good gum line, you might accidentally succeed... if you're handy. After 3 iterations, I made an upper that is comfortable and will stay in. My lower seems impossible with my crooked jaw(really crooked) and 17-21, 28-32 missing for a LONG time... I had to make a custom tray but still will have to get more impression putty. The thermo-setting plastic gum material is ridiculous. Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want!

Flexi partials are way more comfortable!

This is why I’m scared to get all on 4, my dr isn’t 100% sure there is enough bone on upper jaw. I don’t want to fight a denture for 6 months

I pray hopefully that you can save and be able to have better suited/fitted dentures elsewhere that you actually can enjoy and be comfortable in. The good news is that what can be most costly, as in total extractions is already done. I can tell in less than a yr how much my mouth now sags and how much muscle I've lost since 11/01/2022 without dentures.
I have a new set of upper and lower partials. The back teeth on the lower right don't even touch! The dentist said this is normal. I don't think so. Whoever made this partials messed them up! What's the deal with this doc?
I just got my dentures right after they pulled my last of my teeth. They didn’t put stitches and I was bleeding all night. Didn’t call me in antibiotic. I had to go to my doctor to the antibiotic, he was upset that I was in such bad shape. I was on antibiotics for three weeks. I had to go to a deferent dentist to get stitches put in. I can’t close my mouth the dentures are so big, I can’t swallow with them in my mouth or talk with them in. So I’m having to what till after the first of the year to get to have some kind of teeth in my mouth. My insurance is all used up now. It’s been going on 3 months now. Thank god for mask. But not ones did anyone say anything to me about what they gave me not being my permanent dentures. I would have given anything if I had gone to a deferent dentist in the first place. I was losing my teeth because of cancer medicine. It makes you feel like you can’t win for losing. And to have a dentist to do that to me or anyone as fare as that goes. This dentist knew our dentures didn't fit on my husband and myself yet she hasn't tried to fix it even a bit we're eating food on our gums yet the state paid her plus 💰 out of our pockets and we're seniors on a fixed income!!
Sorry about the news. im 36 years old and going through this crap I feel the dentist I went to just wanted a check ✔️ Idk 🤷♂️ But these are horrible
I've gone 6 months with nothing no teeth and in two weeks I will have permanent dentures. Also I'm going to OSU .So far going with out teeth only on certain foods well no go but my speech is perfect and my friends and family are wowed, so here's hoping it stays the same.I will make it work and worth it.

I wasn't going to waste money on permanent Dentures until My gums stopped adjusting...I had partials about 10 years ago. Shrinking gums and shifting teeth made them unwearable in less than 6 months. I hear too many horror stories to spend big bucks on dentures only to have them unusable...again.( I do have dental insurance, but it doesn't pay much)
My temporary solution is Jesse Dent DIY. I'm not going to recommend it. The 1st problem is the cheap Chinese Acrylic teeth. Medium may be medium for 500 million Chinese, but not well nourished Americans!
If you have a good gum line, you might accidentally succeed... if you're handy. After 3 iterations, I made an upper that is comfortable and will stay in. My lower seems impossible with my crooked jaw(really crooked) and 17-21, 28-32 missing for a LONG time... I had to make a custom tray but still will have to get more impression putty. The thermo-setting plastic gum material is ridiculous.
