Hi, Thanks for sharing. I'm using Dynamics 9.1 on-premises, I couldn't do position hierarchy and the sales manager can see sales directors record. I put them all in the same business unit and give then security role to be able to read contacts in business unit. It nor works in classic view nor the app view. Regards
Flaw in this video for position hierarchy is that all three users are in same BU. So testing is not correct. Ideally three users should be from different BUs and linked to one position or position hierarchy and then test it. Position Hierarchy is for cross BU record access the way it was managed earlier by creating Owned Team for one BU and add user from different BU.
Hi, the main difference between Manager and position hierarchy is Manager hierarchy deals when you are in same business unit, where position hierarchy deals with different business units.
There is not many tutorials or even information with free access regarding development for Dynamics 365, keep it going ! Great job ! :)
Thanks !!

is your view "Active Student" set at user owner = current user? so we are able to view lower hierarchy's record even the owner is not self
Can you add few videos on dynamics 365 migrations to different versions.

Doesn't position hierarchy actually mean being in the same business unit?
Can position hirarchy applied outside the BU?
