Been diagnosed with AF, irregular heartbeat. I train a lot and am physically fit, but would drink up to 5 bottles of wine a week. Have only had a few beers in the last few weeks and feel a lot better. Sleep, mood and skin looking better. Still early days, but I'm completely moderating anything I drink now.

I developed A fib from pretty heavy drinking over 20 some years. I've always trained pretty hard and kept myself in shape. I ended up having an ablation and thought I could go right back to drinking my mistake. I was Afib free for only a short time. What the doctor didn't tell me was there is no cure for A fib you can only try to control it. So I will probably end up getting another ablation and do my best to stop. Problem is I enjoy it so much.

@@rangerwhite5165 An ablation is a surgery where the surgeon threads a wire into your heart and either burns or freezes the miss firing nerves in the heart that caused Afib. It has a pretty good success rate. However you may require a second one. My problem was I thought I was cured so I went back to drinking soon after
I didn't know Afib is a lifelong disease the best thing you can do is control it with diet and sometimes medication. So now I'm looking at another ablation. Good luck on your cardioversion!

You should do a video on the Kindling Effect. It is during the process of withdrawal, recovery, and relapse that the kindling effect takes place.
    Reason enough to stay clean.
Each successive process of withdrawal, sobriety, and relapse worsens each step in the process of addiction. Every time a person relapses, they will experience a worsening of withdrawal symptoms when they attempt to quit again.

Consumption of alcohol is "normal" in that it predates history and humans have almost always drank it. But it was a survival thing. Alcohol perserves food. THE unnatural part now is the ease of getting that alcohol buzz and the amount we are able to get very easily, and the fact that it isn't about preservation anymore, the only purpose now is for the drug effect and not the food safety.

Man, i do agree with everything - but going around clubs with everybody drinking lot of beers, and spirits and you are sober...it's pretty much impossible - you feel like an alien, there is no connection - one month and half now i'm not drinking - this summer i get in very hard, some nights were brutal , after one year i didn't touch a glass -
    now i'm trying again - it's very hard - i'd like to stop to drink...forever - is that possible ? I don't know -
it seems such a great part of the social life - also, if your're a man and you don't drink, seems like you're not masculine enough -
plus. when i see one of those pint of beers....damn man - the fact is that one is never enough -2,3,4, then cocktails and then of course cigarettes after cigarettes - and you come back home you're a wreck - the hungover the morning after..is just scary -
i'm sure you all know what i'm saying - clubs for " not drinkers " does not exist, they never invented, that could be the only solution

I think a big problem when you go out is finding something new to drink that you enjoy rather than trying to replace it. Soft drinks are so ridiculously expensive in bars- nearly the same price as alcoholic drinks. There's also only so much tea & coffee you can drink. I've started having soda water & lime. Find it very refreshing & it's super cheap as well so you save a fortune. At home I tend to just have water or cordial. If I'm at a party or something when there's a lot of drinking going on I usually have a pack of alcohol free guiness in the fridge. Probably the best one I've tried, tastes the same as I remember it & is a very enjoyable drink if you just fancy a beer. AF beer is again very expensive though, basically the same as alcoholic beer which I don't really understand either as you'd think there would be less tax on them. I used them more to adjust in my early days of quitting as trying different beers was something I used to enjoy so I kindof made it a new thing to try different AF ones. Though over time I think you naturally just have them less & less mainly due to the price, just as well buying a pack of pepsi max or something.

@@The160879 it's frustrating there's nothing exciting in bars for non drinkers. Though I guess we ain't great customers as we won't go on a sesh all night & drink 10 pints of coke or something, therefore there's no incentive to look after us.

Best replay for alcohol is apple juice with I've cubes and lemon in it. Or redbull. But with redbull be careful because it will give you a clarity boost and you might crave more alcohol. Why these two? Because they look like brandy and rarely someone's will questions you.

Yea alcohol was my whole identity for years and when I quit, I felt empty at first then absolutely amazing and my whole life turned around, I started surrounding myself with ppl moving in the same direction instead of just fun party animals. I woke up next to my girlfriend got in the shower and had the thought if she was a dude, I wouldnt even hang out with this person, 6 months in I didnt even know her last name and a year in I didnt know she had siblings or hadnt met her parents and honestly didnt care, but because she was Miss Virginia I was about to marry somebody I couldnt even stand, sobered up and I was like what tha F am I doing? 😂 Haven't drank since, re wired my moral compass and thanked god for slapping me when he did, only problem now is my wife catches me randomly staring at her like a psycho because I am having premonitions of my shitty alternate life and then randomly saying out loud god I got lucky, I love you which married men will tell you makes her think you did something really bad but im not about to explain to her whats really going through my mind lol so if you cant drink it in moderation F alcohol nothing good comes from it! Scares the hell out of me.

Lol, it is a disease, NOT a lack of self control. The confusing part is the Obiden administration criminalized it so that they can profit from their free labor as they arrest them. Remember crack? The CIA made it extremely addictive and planted it in poor black neighborhoods. Now they've really weaponized drugs, as almost all are experiencing excruciating pain. They should never be taken advantage of for pain, but that is how the beast works.

You don’t need a replacement for alcohol and you don’t need a reason for not drinking when asked. Nobody would ask an ex smoker or a none smoker why they don’t smoke. I’ve never had an issue with alcohol. I just don’t like it. As a teenager I lived near a famous footballer from Northern Ireland that lost his life due alcohol his mother also died due to alcohol. I like this RUclips there are many great videos on stopping alcohol. You don’t need it and it has no benefits.

You’re body and mind are trained to remember that good feeling and the hangover gets forgotten about every time. The routine thing seems to be the key.
