My mom's parents are from Hainan; I love when she makes the Hainan style chicken and rice~~ so good! This place looks good, thanks for sharing this with us!
Hey FungBros (and Richie!), Just wanted to drop by and show some love. Been subscribed for just a few weeks now and been enjoying all the content y'all put out. Thanks for giving me some new places to go out and eat! Keep up the good work.
Hey Fung Bros! I met you guys during Half&Half Arcadia's opening a while back! Just now checking out your channel, and you guys sure know how to make someone hungry! So definitely went to Savoy tonight after not having gone in a while-- got the hainan chicken & beef stew curry with lemon ice tea to share. Next is AYCE hotpot-- if you're not in food advertising, you should be! Oh & I found an awesome drink place called Ozero by Cofftea down the street from Savoy randomly. Their fluffy coffee drinks are so good! You guys should check it out! Hope to catch you guys around 626 again! :)
Hey I know the Savoy! I’ve been there. Their menu is a mix of westernized Chinese food and Americanized Asian food. It’s reminiscent of a lot restaurants that flourished in Hong Kong after WW2. I’m old enough to have been there during the 50’s. So it’s nice that millennials like the Fung Bros have discovered its unique place in the gastronomic scheme of things. Enjoy.
Guys! I love your Fung Bros Food uploads! They are great and make me think of and miss my mum and her incredible cooking! Can you please please do a Asian Bbq video?! Theres so many different types out there other than korean! And i know youll have fun doing it too xo
I've tried many places in Dallas and the chicken all have a poultry smell. Just ate at this place 2hr ago and OMG it is freaking good. The chicken is juicy and doesn't smell poultry at all. Give this place a try if you vacating in Cali. Thanks guys for the awesome video.
Love you guys introducing Asian food! Try the Crystal Jade soup dumpling restaurant, don't remember where it was and its exact name but the food were great!
Man, why don't guys do Hong Kong foods. Talk about street food: fish balls, shumai (that yellow god-like food) I moved to the UK and I'm missing every thing;(
I have searched for beef tendons for years but Americans remove it before they sell the beef in the market!! In Japan, they had tender marinaded beef tendon barbecued on skewers that I remembered from my childhood that rocked. The tendons they called, Su-ji. I miss it bad!!
You guys should actually make a channel for the three of you, as Richie is in almost every video :) thumbs up if you agree! P.S. Your videos are awesomee
You gotta head to Malaysia and Singapore for real legit fusion asian food (especially in Singapore). The hainanese chicken rice there is the shit and can cost as little as 3 Singapore dollars for a plate that's better than at Savoy. There's also tons of other dishes from the region you should try. It's cool that you guys are exploring Asian American spots, but it'd be way cooler if you did a FBF in Southeast Asia.
S$1.00 chicken rice was just as good, but that was the promotional period (when the hawker tried to bring awareness and attention to his stall/existence).
My favourite version of the Hainanese Chicken Rice is the Thai version called Khao Man Gai. The sauce is out of this world and the rice is jammed pack full of flavour. And you get a bowl of chicken broth too.
Forks and spoons were introduced by the British into Malaysia, as a result many Malaysian dishes, one of which is Hainan Chicken Rice, are served with forks and spoons.
Now I know I have got to go to Cali for my birthday, and I'm all the way in VA but this is a must go!!! That food looks really good and the way they describe it makes my moth water. They have shown a lot of places that I want to try, But the must go to for me for my birthday will be the Korean BBQ spot and Savoy!!!!!!
You guys tried Belican Grill in Tustin? I think that one is the closest to the Hainan Chicken I had in Singapore. I will hav to check out Savoy, though.
You did? Old Country Café, is as authentic Taiwanese food as you can get in U.S Hands down undisputed! The only place to get more authentic Taiwanese food than OCC is to go to Taiwan itself. You have just found another place serving Taiwanese food in the community for 30 years. I don't live in Cali anymore, and I am salivating just thinking about those places.

idk what Hainan chicken is but that looks like Cantonese boiled chicken...my parents make it during all of the Lunar calender holidays. Sometimes we make it cuz we're like "yo...lets get some fucking chicken in our diet." I think the english translation if I remember is "White Chicken" because it's boiled in a clear soup so the chicken doesn't get any other colors. It's my favorite type of chicken right next to Soy Sauce Chicken (definitely a Cantonese thing), then every other chicken.
wowoowoww.... HOLD UP! You eating Hainan Chicken without the spring onion, ginger, garlic oil and salt oil? You know what I'm talking about... How dare you Fung Bros... How dare you...
living in singapore for eight years, im telling you the best way to eat hainan chicken is to mix everything together, the soy sauce, the chili, the chicken and the rice.
Yea! if u wanna taste the best chicken rice, u definitely should try it in Singapore. and that curry is Beef Rendang!! you should come to M'sia and give it a try man! It's a very famous dish in Malaysia! And not forgetting the Hainanese style western food in Malaysia! those are the "must try" when u visit Malaysia!

My favourite version of the Hainanese Chicken Rice is the Thai version called Khao Man Gai. The sauce is out of this world and the rice is jammed pack full of flavour. And you get a bowl of chicken broth too.
Thai version is exactly the same version as the Singapore and Malaysia' Hainanese chicken rice.
It's all about the Hainan Chicken and Chrysanthemum Tea Large!!!
You should really try the Dos Chinos truck. It's an infusion of Mexican & Vietnamese cooking. It's so good!
Forks and spoons were introduced by the British into Malaysia, as a result many Malaysian dishes, one of which is Hainan Chicken Rice, are served with forks and spoons.
