I loved hearing her voice as it was always joyous. Currently listening to her 1989 solo record which is my favorite. I am deeply saddened by the things that happened to her and sad that she was so tormented that it made her turn to drugs. Rest in Power beautiful flower June! You are sorely missed! 😘😍💖💖💔💔
@@CelesteKTheNewWaveRevue Did it help her more at the end...She probably needed more cares and support than to be rejected but it's done. Nothing can't be changed.
@@lehec Yeah, I could tell that Ruth was in a lot of pain pushing her sister out of the group but in the end Ruth did right by June because she was heading down a very destructive path and she just couldn't let that happen because it would have ruined the group.
@@CelesteKTheNewWaveRevue It must be very hard for her. I supposed Anita thought like Ruth. The group never been the same and never did reach the same level of success without June. We can't change the past but sometimes I wish they could have found someone or something to change her bad habits and addictions that ruined her career. They were all talented and so pretty but June had something special that sparkled and energized the group.
I had a huge crush on June I can't even count the times I've seen the movie "Car Wash"!!! RIP June & Bonnie 🙏🙏🙏 thank you Paul my brother for sharing! ❤️
Hi Tank, I'm a huge Pointer Sisters fan from NY. I love the 70s Pointer Sisters best. I have Car Wash and a lot more on DVD video. Bonnie is my favorite with Ruth being next. I love them all including June. June was the bubbly one in the 80s while Bonnie was the bubbly one in the 70s. I have an amazing photo collection too.
I meant to add that I wish the Pointer Sisters had a bigger role in Car Wash. I happen to also be a big Donna Summer fan. Donna had a bigger role in the movie Thank God It's Friday but I feel Car Wash was a better movie.
I've never saw this interview before...i wish June not only stayed sober, but also could've gotten annual examinations. The Doctors could've more than likely diagnosed the Cancer earlier and she just might have still been here with us today! But God knows best. We miss you June REST IN PARADISE MY LOVE! Chris 123 you might be right. I didn't know about June or the pointer sisters until like 2012 when I was a junior in high school and every night I'd listen to jump for my love while doing my algebra 2 homework
Thank you. I heard about this interview at the time. But missed it. Thanks for posting. After this interview, when June rejoined the group. There was the fourth of July on Capitol hill. Then they performed at the millennium stage. The last performance with June was 2002, Dick Clark's special. The sisters sang back up with Little Richard.
Wonderful memory. Thanks for sharing!!! I wish I could've seen it!! I live within an hour from the Capitol. That would've been great to experience them in concert.

She seems sober in this interviewing. June had a 30 addiction...sober for only 60 days. The slug in speech and everything else are ramifications of continuous drug use. Many ever go back to being a Cucumber.
@@duragggura3695 That’s possible, but you don’t know that for certain. She could also be high. In interview, her sister Ruth says June remained addicted right to the end of her life.

Her husband at the time married her for the free drugs. Not gossip that was told to me by a family member. We were in my car and June was stopped at the light across from us.
