Over the years, that trail has had many fatalities, and rescues. This is NOT for the city wannabe hikers to venture onto, even though the do! My hat is tipped to the"North Shore Search And Rescue Team", and all the other volunteers for their devotion to help those in trouble in that area. Cheers to all of you, you at the least deserve that recognition. Cheers everyone👍👏👏👏👏👏👍 Nice vid buddy, really enjoyed it, again. We are fortunate to have this incredible environment in our backyard, 👍 Cheers👍
This video is so good! I just discovered you’re channel and its extra special because i can relate to all the places in you’re vids. The footage is amazing and inspiring! Keep going you’ll get more subs soon!
Finally you did something where I have been. Did Mt Brunswick recently. Mount Unnecessary I did twice and Mount Harvey and Mount Brunswick from sea level. Well filmed as usual.
Fantastic, Luke! Been watching your videos for maybe a year now. This is in my backyard! I’m in the Vancouver area, holla if you’re ever looking for a hiking friend. I’ve done a handful of good overnight hikes this year.
Luke, This was magnificent. The weather was perfect and only enhanced the beauty. I loved the drone shots and the night sky timelapse. It's obvious that Nature is the ultimate sculptor. Beautiful friends and beautiful dog - all reveling in the experience. Thanks for taking us along.
Another great video. I just saw my first video of yours on your trip to the hot springs on the Pitt River and thought I would come and check out your channel. I'm very impressed! I have a little story about this trip also. My buddy Walter and I did a lot of hiking together and this one summer he had just got back from an Outward Bound Course and he wanted to show me how he was in much better shape than I was. We decided to do the Lions by way of Unnecessary Ridge. It was foggy when we started out but we figured we would break out of the cloud cover higher up. He said for me to tell him when I wanted to take a rest and he wouldn't be too hard on me. There was no way in hell I was going to give him the satisfaction so we thump, thump, thumped our way up the trail non-stop until we were at the top of, (I think), the East Lion. Of course the visibility never improved and we were surrounded by cloud. No view! We could have climbed the CN Tower a couple of times non stop and achieved the same thing! "Pride goes before a fall", thank goodness no one fell.
Awesome vid dude! Last time I was up on Brunswick the blackflies were brutal. Hopefully you had better luck. Have to do the whole trail some time - inspirational.
Your channel is amazing, your storytelling sublime and your videographer skills through the roof!!! Too bad I con only subscribe to the channel once!!!! Commendations from Maple Ridge, BC.
Just had the pleasure of meeting this fine young gentlemen. I caught him off guard when I yelled his name in the airport. He caught me off guard as well . Very nice guy. Even though I Definitely creeped him out by admitting that I watch him every day LOL very nice guy
Hi Luke, what a fantastic vlog you have presented to us! Hats off to you all! We are going to do a 2 day camping along HSCT next Friday. I was wondering at 5:10 of this video, which lake did you camp at? Looked like a really nice choice for day 1. Thanks so much !
@@lifeofluke Hmmm could it possibly be the old helicopter pad near the summit of Mount Brunswick? I have seen people camp on a wooden pallet along the trail and am trying to find where it is!
Outstanding film work again Luke. Enjoyed every minute, really inspiring.
Thanks Mercari!
Nina is such a smart dog. She even knows when the top has been reached and everyone is happy to celebrate! (4:45)
hahah that's true!
That's some beautiful country!

i'll try these in a few months that looks very challenging for me 🤣🤣
Awesome vid dude! Last time I was up on Brunswick the blackflies were brutal. Hopefully you had better luck. Have to do the whole trail some time - inspirational.
thanks Andrew! The blackflies weren't bad on Brunswick, but back towards the Lions they were pretty bad.
For sure, I hope you do it!
😊😊😊😊😊😊

Haha, thanks Kaylen, it rarely happens to me so thanks for saying hi!
Great vid again luke ! Anymore abandoned BC videos coming soon? My personal favourites.
Thanks Brody! Ya I have a couple more in the works

Thanks Fred! Our first night was at Magnesia meadows
@@lifeofluke thank you very much !
Great video! Thanks for sharing. I plan to go next week, could you tell me which lake did you camp by and which one you swam in?
we camped at Magnesia meadows and swam in all of the lakes, but the answer you are looking for is Brunswick Lake
you should paddle the Moisie river
Amazing! I need to do this. Can this be hiked with a guide or group? I’m a novice hiker 😁🇨🇦
Thanks Brent! There are various groups and clubs from Vancouver which hike it all the time, it is one of the most popular trails there.
Hi! What a beautiful video. I was wondering if you knew where on the trail there is a wooden tent pad by a solar panel set up?
Hey Darcie, thanks! I'm not sure what you mean by a tent pad near a solar panel set up, I don't remember seeing that.
@@lifeofluke Hmmm could it possibly be the old helicopter pad near the summit of Mount Brunswick? I have seen people camp on a wooden pallet along the trail and am trying to find where it is!
Yes, there's a helicopter pad on top of Brunswick, that's likely it
@@lifeofluke Okay thanks!
Hi Luke, love your videos! What camera gear do you usually bring with you?
I usually bring my sony a7s, 14mm lens, 55mm lens, and mavic 2 pro drone
did you know that granite you're walking on runs all the way to Stewart, B.C.?
Yes, I love the granite in these coastal mountains and it's one of the reasons I live here!
Could you see Howe Sound Pulp Mill during your hike?
just behind Gambier, yes
Do you hike up a new mountain every week?!
Sometimes, sometimes more!
Luke I'm a very big fan...just wanna ask what breed is Nina?
Thanks Romzy! Nina is Border Collie with Kelpie mix
what bug repellent are you guys using? i know that area has tons of bugs and my Off brand one didnt work
Just one I picked up in a fuel station in the Yukon, I can't recall the name at the moment
Nice! Probably drones aren’t allowed either.
How was this trail for the dog? Just wondering if there are any sections where you had to lift the dog.
I might have boosted Nina or helped her down a rock or two, I don't remember exactly
how did you get back to cypress.
We didn't. The trail ends there.
Is this a thru hike? How did you arrange transport?
Yes it's usually done one direction. We had a friend pick us up
Great vid-can u give the name of the music artist and song at 6:40?🙏
Thanks Jim, that's Solomon Woodland, for future reference all songs are listed in the description under the video
@@lifeofluke 👍🙏
Sweet, a friend who watches my livestream And lives on the island turned me onto you
must be an awesome friend!
@@lifeofluke I don’t know I’ve never met him ha ha all I know is his name is Carey and he’s a carpenter
Doesn't the dog need some kind of foot protection on a trail that long?
No, Nina's paws have been toughened up after a lot of activity, so she can handle this stuff all day long.
Weird question: do you smoke cigarettes? Love this video by the way❤️
No I do not smoke
@@lifeofluke that’s nice, cause smoking is bad Cor you
