Lot of people gave them a lot of crap for the "life coaching" stuff in the St. Anger years, but I think this mature side of James is a product of what they learned in that period. It's great that, even if he relapsed a couple of years ago, he has the strength to keep fighting against his demons and ugly personal situations like this one.

Can't speak on alcoholism, but to say that depression is no joke is the understatement of the millenia. Speaking from experience here. There's no shame in getting help if you need it, and just like James said, I promise you're not alone. Seriously. The power of the dark side is fierce, but there are people that DO have your back. Never give up.
Same here. Admitting you need help is the first step but often the hardest. Help is there for them to pull you out, you just put out a hand for them to grab.

I love this band forever.
You too ,that was nice
That's why he'll always be Papa Het for all of us. Thank you so much.
he talks to us like a dad it's cool🤘
Don't do it , James. Stay Strong and Rock on, Folks!🙏💪😇😎🎸🎶❤🤙
I was there. Powerful moment!
What a stud. One of the absolute best frontmen of all time.
I was at the Aug 11 show and he did the same thing I love this band alot
Sounds like he's talking to himself. His body language is self-soothing. He's basically hugging himself. Hope he's doing okay.
This is why im still a Metallica fan, and always will be.
A lot of people say stuff like that, but when James says it, I believe it. Hes a real one who's lived through a lot of shit, and you can feel it when he speaks.
Once you've been in the dark, it never forgets who you are and why you were there. Sometimes you have to step away from everybody and everything. You dont get to pull the trigger and come back. Its too messy and loved ones dont need to see that. Stay mighty!
Amazing message. Extremely powerful too.
We love you James, thank you for everything
Divorce sucks. The kids feel it the most. Been there. It's hard to lose something you love over stupidity. 💔
Man, his words make me cry
F yeah James! Always remember that you don't know what the future has in store for you when something tragic changes your life! I wanted to give up over 20 years ago and I am so stoked at the life I have now.
That’s so beautiful 🥺
I was there in person and that really touched me
Thank you James.
Much respect for you James......Very much.
This is one band that really seems that they care about there fans. I thought of Chris Cornell and just totally lost it miss him so much. James knows that his fans will always have his back
My heart goes out to James❤️🩹❤️🔥❤️🩹❤️🩹
Thanks James I really needed to hear that and from you dam I feel better you rule
Treat people the way you want to be treated and everything works out fine.
What comes around goes around and it’s never fun when it comes back
To you.
