    Hetfield has always been a pretty cool down to earth dude, had the pleasure of meeting him in 2018 and chatted a good bit about random shit and some personal shit as well including family. The last thing he said to me was "take care of them kids" and those words still inspire me to this day, he's a good dude.

    Lot of people gave them a lot of crap for the "life coaching" stuff in the St. Anger years, but I think this mature side of James is a product of what they learned in that period. It's great that, even if he relapsed a couple of years ago, he has the strength to keep fighting against his demons and ugly personal situations like this one.

    • @crownjewel555
      @crownjewel555 2 года назад +4

      @@kooltrini735 some people (on tik tok) want to tarnish the reputation of Metallica because James was being racist like 30 years ago. Im 90 % sure a lot of what he said was just a joke, because he did use to have that kind of broken humor, and he did say a lot of things, but he was a lot younger. James did come out and apologize for doing unspecified things.
      P.S. a lot of people say "Gen Z" (the generation of current middle school, high school, and college kids) are the people trying to cancel Metallica. As a Gen z who has listened to Metallica and other metal artists (most notably Three Days Grace and Escape Fate) since I was little, it did dishearten me to hear that some kids are trying to cancel Metallica. So, not all of us young kids are against Metallica.
      What is Canceling?
      Canceling means to destroy the reputation of some one, or group, because of something they said. This doesnt sound that bad, but many people who have been 'canceled' were booted off all of their networks and jobs and couldn't make a name for them selves. Id assume this wont happen to Metallica, considering they are the most popular metal band of the 80s, let alone the history of metal itself.
      sorry for this being so long
      Edit: three days grace isnt metal, but it was my gateway into heavier stuff (other than green day) because before I listened to the afore mentioned, I was listening to imagine dragons and other bad stuffs (yes I do deeply regret it a lot)

    I remember a long time ago (the 80s lol), my aunt was working in a psychiatric hospital and one of their new underaged patients was admitted for suicidal thoughts because of something the kid had written on a notebook or something similar like a piece of homework. My aunt was just a nurse but when she read the “suicide note” she immediately recognized it as the lyrics to “Fade to Black”. That was the first time I heard Metallica, because she then proceeded to walk my 12 year old self down to her local bar and played the song for me on the jukebox. The 80s were something very special and different.

      @@eustathiap3291 He spoke about it in an interview he gave a few years ago. I don’t know the man personally so I never had a one on one convo with him. He said in the interview that losing his family was not an option, so he got it together. I do believe it was a Joe Rogan podcast. Look it up. Thank you.

    God bless you James. As a fan that grew up with your music, by passing recorded cassette tapes to other friends, and saying, “Check this shit out!” it feels like a family. And we love you all too! And to everybody that’s ever been affected by suicide. We’re all in it together-Please get help!

    Not only was that speech amazing, but the crowd at this concert actually quieted down to hear and listen to what he was saying. I have never witnessed a concert crowd get this quiet, especially at a metal concert.

    Once you've been in the dark, it never forgets who you are and why you were there. Sometimes you have to step away from everybody and everything. You dont get to pull the trigger and come back. Its too messy and loved ones dont need to see that. Stay mighty!
