Thank you so much for making this video! I must've looked at the instructions for over an hour, before giving up. This tutorial made it super easy for me to install the over head microwave! Thanks again!
Thank you. I just installed a Kenmore microwave and watched your video. I followed your steps and it went in very easy. Your are a very good instructor...appreciated the logical way you led me through the procedure...your detailed explanations were extremely clear and helpful.
Just installed a new over the range microwave using your video as a guide. Your video was much more helpful than the installation instructions. Once my husband and I watched your video we knew exactly what to do and were able to properly reinstall a brand new microwave. Thank you so much for making this video!!
There is a comment below by Jeannette H., that reads 'Best instruction video ever for installing a new microwave!'. That pretty much sums things up. Concise, instructive, intuitive and perfect in every way. If only the rest of RUclips would follow this format...Thank you!
No vent to outside in your oven. Thank you for the filler block instructions. I changed the oven brand from GE to Samsung. The locations of these 2 main bolt holes in GE and Samsung are so close together, I end up with bad figure 8 holes (no strength left in the board and may pull thru). Your video shown The filler blocks. It save the day for me. Thank you for the GREAT video and you took time to teach us step-by-step. You are the BEST.
Very well done tutorial. I will be buying a new microwave this week and your video was the first I clicked. I dont feel the need to watch any others, thanks.
Unrivaled clarity with directions. After viewing, I went out, bought a replacement unit and installed it without incident. This presentation made that effort possible and saved me a $150 install fee. Thank you, iScaper1 ! ! !
What a great tutorial! I'm a single mom about to purchase a new over the range microwave. I'm a pretty confident DIY'er and after watching your tutorial feel it's definitely something my son and I can tackle. You and your soothing voice may have just saved me a $150 installation charge...thank you!!
Thank you so much for the tutorial. I am a renter. My landlord bought us a new microwave, but didn't have the time to install it. After watching this video I had the confidence to install it with no problem. I even popped a bag of popcorn to celebrate! A++ video!
This video - literally - saved my life. And my wife’s life. We tried installing one of these about an hour ago and were frustrated because some of the instructions didn’t make sense and we had an unexpected gap between the microwave and the cabinet. After watching this video, we retraces our steps and fixes our mistakes. It’s 1am and we are tired but so grateful for this helpful video that - literally - saved our skin.
Very complete, IScaper! Even tho I have a different brand of microwave, I feel like this is going to be super-helpful in getting the old unit out and the new one installed correctly in a minimum of time. Thanks!
Thank you for this video! My old over the range microwave did the same thing and I needed to replace it. Your video made sense to me. I am one happy mom.
WOW.. Awesome instructions.. thanks for making this video.. I have to replace my Microwave it just died ..and now I feel like I could conquer the world after watching this.. it is very much appreciated .. and it seems a lot easier then I thought.. seeing how it comes out and goes in.. makes it so simple.. its like.. that's it.. that's easy.. I can do that.. thanks again.. and kudos to Shawn(Sean).. he did a great job.. always helps to have a great assistant
Great job! Clear, concise step by step instructions. My fiancee, was so in the know after watching you and your son change out your old microwave, we had a great time replacing mine. No problem at all. Thanks!
Beautiful instructional job. Thank you. One suggestion: treat yourself to an inexpensive power screwdriver. It's a great addition to any toolbox and one of the most-used tools in mine.
I'm a single female and I realize I will not be able to do this myself, but it does give me the information that i need to make a decision on who I will need to help with the installation. Thanks for taking the time to record this tutorial!
+linda marshall You do need a few basic tools and a drill to do the project. If you have the tools needed, then you would just need a friend to help with the lifting.
Great tutorial video. The first one I checked and I feel confident that I got what I need to know to replace my microwave. Easy and clear instruction. I can do this. Thank you.
Very informative video. I won't need to use filler blocks (as there is no recess here) however, the advice to have a helper remove/mount the units is definitely important (in this case the unit weighed up to 83 pounds : so tough to balance on one hand 8-) thanks much !
Thanks for posting this -- very well done! I cannot believe three people gave you a thumbs down, lol! What could they possibly object to? Excellent step-by-step instruction, thanks again.
Nice tut. About to wade into this project now and realizing it would be brilliant if the various makers shared universal brackets and bolt hole positions.
To give myself a little extra security while working on the microwave from above (and removing the top screws from the old unit), I put my car jack underneath with a length of 1x6 board under the microwave. An extra set of (very strong) hands to hold it securely.
Went great! No problems at all! Again, your video sent me in the right direction and gave me the confidence I could do it and do it right. Thanks again.
I wish all the online videos were as good as this one. The timing was just right, the pacing was great and THANK YOU for producing a video with good sound quality, something many producers don't do. I have a different brand and was wondering if the existing hardware for the previous microwave will work?
Thanks Rich for the feedback on the video. I doubt your existing hardware will work on the new microwave unless it the same brand/model. You could measure the slot spacing on the new microwave and see if it matches up with the old support bracket. Every microwave I've replaced I had to replace the support bracket also.
This is exactly why I stopped using over the range microwaves. Look at all the bullshit he has to go through just to replace it. Great video though man.. you have more patience than I do.
EXACTLY- and, he did not deal with the BIGGEST problem many face- when the F'ing backsplash gets it the way because the space is Not big enough (too big of a space can also be a problem) for the new MW. I searched all over and ALL of the proper MWs now are BIGGER than my opening so I need to cut my back splash out (and inch or two) with an Angle Grinder (after I buy one) 😖
Awesome, I just bought tho exact microwave from sear and was a bit confused about the recessed cabinets i have. this vid help a lot. I'm going to tackle it now. Thanks a bunch!!!!!!
The first and clearest install video describing the filler blocks and proper positioning of the templates that I have seen!
Thank you so much for making this video! I must've looked at the instructions for over an hour, before giving up. This tutorial made it super easy for me to install the over head microwave! Thanks again!
Thanks. I like that you filmed the video and then captured your instructions afterward. This made it easier to hear and understand.
