- On 15 May 2024, SteamRanger's steam locomotive 621 "Duke of Edinburgh" ran behind Diesel Alco 958 to Strathalbyn on a test run, then 621 led the return run back to Mt Barker. Enjoy!
Nice to see the Duke again, thanks.
Glad someone was there to capture it
It was me
@@BenGroffen-zp1ms yea I think I saw you at Gemmells.
@@TimsTrains what time
@@TimsTrains yea because near Strathalbyn station the crossing bells was still going and the cars where stopped and the train was at high Street so I was going to tell the driver but the train took off
@@BenGroffen-zp1ms also what do you mean "it was me"? I took all the films in this video.
Love 621's answer to 958's blast 🔊🔊📢📢 😉😉
Good to see south Australia trains on RUclips. Richard Courtney Adelaide south Australia
Good video Tim :)
very good work tim
Two great engines..
Which track gauge is standard or broad gauge on Steam loco??? cuz National diesel is standard gauge?????
SteamRanger's line is Broad Gauge.
What's with stobe light on the Diesel engine ?
getting the peoples attention
Required for compliance with national rail safety regulations
how do you guys know when these are gonna happen?
Being a member and volunteer of SteamRanger helps
will this one haul the cockle trains at some point
It should be later in the year
Those police lights on the front of the locos are ridiculous and embarrassing! More red tape overreach!
[edit] great vid though! 👍
Too much time with their heads stuck to the screens of their mobile phones to see a 140 ton locomotive on the rails. You can blame woke and political correctness for this crap.
@@cat793cdumpy they've had the police lights on for YEARS iirc, nothing to do with 'woke' or 'politically correct'
@@jimsmowingofficial OK so what is their purpose then.
Absolutely. @@cat793cdumpy
@@cat793cdumpy I'm not sure, probably some kind of safety thing, but they've had them since 1998 at least, well before the mobile phone was commonplace
