I wonder if perhaps the "men of red and gold" are from the Iriali home world. Similar descriptions, after all. That could also explain where the Iriali belief of the many coming back to the One comes from, referring to Autonomy's avatars.
Yeah the men of red and gold are driving me nuts as to who they are where they come from. Could be related to the Iriali. And Autonomy also fits with one becoming many, I don’t think it fits as well but then again Brandon has said that it’s not strictly based on the shattering, and that more recent events have also influenced them
Hey man! I have a podcast called Fandoms where I talk to people about something they're a fan of. I would love to have you on and talk your favorite series from the cosmere or anything else you're a fan of!
Seven worlds but with Dishardian or Trishardian worlds, it could still fit (except some shards may change solar systems, since Wit's goal on Roshar was to prevent Odium from leaving the Rosharian system. Or Wit is making sure the Iriali pilgrimage still stands, not that he is scared that Odium will go do damage elsewhere, as I thought?) My suggestion for how the Iriali worldhop: Skipping? We know next to nothing about it, but it uses Investiture not technology so it could have worked in the past too?
I think that the Iriali, as we know them right now, have forgotten much of their roots. I think they arrived to Roshar not knowing what to expect, and the Desolations wreaked havoc on their culture just as much as it did on the other cultures of Roshar, leading to them losing their access to and information regarding world hopping. Now, they will rediscover this at some point in the future of Roshar, as we already know through one of the secret projects, but right now I believe that they treat their heritage just the same as the Alethi treat their belief in the Allmighty and the Tranquiline Halls; so less like something to strive towards recovering, but something that is the way it is and will just kinda work itself out if everyone follows the doctrine.
Hope your get your translation in time, the book had me in tears the entire time. Both happy and sad. Look out for "magara dulcet" for the Iriali refrence, I also think the "men of gold with red eyes" which were also mentioned by Myles 100 lives in the first era 2 book are Iriali.
About "they're gonna travel to 7 worlds and not 16" - there're multiple shards in some worlds, so who knows
Watching this after dragonsteel 2023 is fun!
I know! After watching his speech I was like omg I need to go re-watch my own video lol
