@RICKD790 Thanks for your encouragement. I have more driver's-eye videos from the same year (Carlisle to Newcastle, Carlisle to Bradford and back via S&C) which I will get around to posting if they seem to be wanted. Regards, AF.
That would be great! This could quite easily have been your last trip over the line, (we had a similar trip over in the early 80's). By this time the only signal boxes working were Howe and Co's siding, the two level crossing boxes, Kirkby Stephen, Blea Moor and Settle Junction, (not sure about Appleby) Nice white stripe class 31 @ 3:53 y the way.
Hello. Tnx. for posting all the Videos. I have downloaded and converted them all and am in the process of copying them all to DVD. The Sheep in this Video were very lucky. Well done to the train driver for alerting them to the fact a train was approaching. Did the video end at Settle ? In your next Video postings, would it be at all possible to edit the film with the names of Stations, Roads and Points of Interest along the Journey ! That would be a grand idea. Regards. ARFURSEK.
@ARFURSEK Thanks for all this. Your DVDs will be of poor quality, as the original resolution was lowish (VCR transposed to DVD then compressed to RUclips specs). If you would like me to send you copies of my original DVDs which cover the whole journey on to Leeds (original) and Bradford (revisited) I will be happy to send you these at cost, say 50p per DVD plus postage - only a few pounds in all. If you would want this, just drop me a quick email on rafrizze@tesco.net with a postal address AF
Thanks for the upload Alan, great stuff. Horton 'Box still in place @ 3:48 before it got burnt to the ground.
