I am in awe, absolutely humbled by what God has revealed through pastor John. I will always continue praising Him in my sufferings. Thank you Pastor John. Just wow...
AMEN!! To this one! Listening to Men..and Suffering Much From it..Led me To a Personal Direct Relationship With My Savior..Who Saved me and Freed me from the Opinions of Men. Thank You..Lord Jesus!
Powerful message. My own suffering at the loss of my dear husband of nearly 54 years has brought me closer to Christ. I try (and fail sometimes) to remember that Christ suffered far more than I suffer. He loves me and loved my husband far more than I could possibly ever know. May I always recognize the blessings I have received from Christ's sacrifice and live each day to suffer the way Christ did, knowing that one day I will live with Him forever. Diane in North Carolina
I count it as pure joy suffering for Jesus. Matthew 5:12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets before you. Romans 5:3 Not only that, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; James 1:12 Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.
This teaching is being one with Jesus, so much of loving giving♡ I love this teaching Pastor John, I felt an over whelming wanting to give back to Jesus some of what he gave me. So heart and soul felt of how much I love Jesus♥Thank-you your teaching is life changing ♥
I sometimes struggled because of this, thinking: “If I don’t get murdered for Jesus, am I really a christian?” 😂 but actually, it is as you said. In whatever we suffer in this life, we ought to suffer it with Christ and in denying ourselves to unite with Christ in his sufferings and in his death.
Something I've always tried to wrap my head around is the whole ideal of "dying to yourself daily and taking up your cross" because everyone's life is different in a sense. What if a Christian is rich? Would not his or her dying to self look differently than someone who is in a different economic status? What about someone like Tim Tebow? Who professes to believe but yet he is quite famous because of his collegiate football career and now attempts at trying to make it to the MLB? I guess what I'm trying to say here is, how much fame and how much wealth is too much?
Throggy i struggled with this phrase taking up my cross when studying a discipleship series, until i heard that it meant complete submission to the teachings of, because Christ perfectly obeyed The Fathers will even unto death, so by following Jesus teachings i too will be following The Fathers will for me, once i had realised this He gave me a really strong image of Christ carrying his cross and me following behind also carrying a cross and i knew i had got it right
Blessed teaching! Amen!
