    Septicflesh- Potrait of headless man. If you want more symphonic death metal like this.

      Great suggestion, not as overloaded though, more groove and overall just better arrangement imo. Oh and the video is veeeery interesting!

      Friedrich Jens Well in my opinion Fleshgod are more for absolutely messy mosh pits, full blast high energy, by contrast Septic Flesh have more narrative to their orchestrations (as they are written in accompanimemt with the band instead of filler/topping arrangement) creating more depth to the music. Seen both live, FA were amazing with black dahlia murder, great time, Septic Flesh was a stand and watch mouth agape experience.
      Both amazing bands.

      Oh yea, I totally wasn't hating on FA, don't get me wrong. Your analysis is far more accurate, gets to the point. I like them both, I have only seen SF live tho...

    You may want to check out Carach Angren - The Funerary Dirge of a Violinist. Full on theatrical black/death. Every album is a concept album of some sort. Really, really freaking great stuff.

    I just woke up too, haha. I'm used to fast music, listened a lot of grind and power violence and what-not. But this song is still little bit overwhelming for me too! But still love it a lot. Check out their live, if i remember correctly there's a drum cam video too for this song. Drummer is a lunatic!

    Trust me, once you get used to technical death metal, you will find heaven in this song. The drummer, heigher dimensional being. The guitar solo, next level.

    they took me a couple of listens to get into, initially.
    Like you, i found so much going on that it was hard to figure out what was happening on first listen.
    Give them some time, they've become one of my favourite bands now. if you ever get time, check out their song "The Forsaking" :)

    I think you will like some of their other songs a bit more. Granted, this is one of my fav songs from the band, but it is also one of their fastest and most chaotic songs. Check out some stuff off their latest album (King)....Good songs to start with are Gravity and And the Vultures Behold.

    I liked the transition from the intro to the first riff, that was really cool. I would have preferred a little more variation on the drums. Maybe the song feels different in the context of the album, but as a standalone piece I like mixing it up a little more.

    I love it when bands just go all out and just make a giant Wall of sound, which is why I like this. Drums were phenomenal, both vocals were great, and the guitar solo sounded satisfying and was a good break, but I wish the solo was longer cuz I liked the way it was sounding, but then it just kinda stopped too quickly, and was kinda dissapointed about that. But just all the instruments put together to just rape my ears is just satisfying to me for some reason.

    Just have to say every drummer of this genre uses triggers. If they didn't it would cost a million bucks in post and would still sound shite.
    The more you listen to this song the better it gets. Even the high pitch singing starts to sound good and almost like an acquired taste you realise it's importance to the whole composition.
    Speaking of acquired tastes maybe try some *King Diamond* ( the Abigail album perhaps), if you can get past that, the metal world is your oyster.

      You say it like the high pitch singing sounds bad when it sounds really good.

    • @ThaBeatConductor
      @ThaBeatConductor 2 года назад

      @@9yearoldepicgamersoldier129 It's hard to pick up on what key the vocals are going with on first listens, a couple of the notes seem off, but they really aren't, the mix is just super thick there. I think that may be what they are referring to.

    I like it better for every time I hear. It's a really a violation on the ears... but in a good way. Like both vocalist. Love the fast rhythms.

    This one is pretty much the exact opposite of Fleshgod Apocalypse, but I'd be really interested to see what you make of a band called Scatter the Ashes. There aren't many songs up by them, as they released a single album back in 2004, and disbanded in 2006. I'd recommend their song Caesura though if you wanted to check out a song of theirs! That, or Hour Benediction if you can find it. Pretty neat sound they have going on.

    This kind of (metal) music requiers some listening to, but I'd say it is worth it as long as the first listen shows it has potential. Nothing I listen to on a daily basis, though.
    Still recommending: Enslaved - "The Watcher" ! .. Will you find the time? ;)

    If you're not familiar with At the Gates - Blinded By Fear... get familiar and then listen to Fleshgod's version. Even better, do both, At the Gates and then Fleshgod in one video (both versions are 3:12 in length)

    did you get around to digesting this song for further analysis? cuz you said you were going to pin such words in the comments and i don''t see them. :) props for postponing judgement due to knowing it's impossible to really evalute such dense music on 1 (or even a several IMO) listen.

    The drummer was insane. He almost overpowered the others for me. The cleans were very much needed since it was overwhelming. It was nice though, right up my alley since I love Symphonic/Melodic death metal bands.

    @morbidangel989 7 лет назад +1

    This is the sort of thing I used to like when I was in my late teens and early 20s (my big thing at the time was Dimmu Borgir). For me this lacks too much in the way of dynamics and really does feel one dimensional (even with the cleans). That is not to say that anyone else shouldn't like it, it's just not my thing at this point in my life.

  • @AnimetalViking

  • @Alof83

    IMO this 95% of a great song. The 5% it lacks is due to those last 3 or 4 high notes on those clean vocals. Something didn't quite line up for me, I don't think off key would be the proper term here but they really grated on me for some reason. I've heard a few other songs from these guys and I know that guy is a really good singer but I can't get past that one little part.

      Daniel James Lol I figure that's the way with a lot of the bands I hear on this channel. It's very rare that I'm put off from a band entirely by one song. I'll bypass the critique and hear the potential and talent. Any suggestions and I'm open to them!

    • @KingSilk33
      @KingSilk33 7 лет назад +7

      There is a song by them called "epilogue" that's get requested a lot on most reactions channels but it never gets reacted to because the reactor gets put off by "The Violation". I'd think you'd make a lot of people happy by reacting to "epilogue" since it captures the band's sound as a whole and is fit with both fast and slow parts.
