Thank you for another great video! For mine I use 1.5 pounds (about 700 grams) to make plates that are 11 inches (28cm). I haven't weighed them after glazing and firing, but I think they come out to just under the initial weight once they're finished. Always love your videos. Thank you for the continued inspiration!
Although the brown clay is beautiful, if you want black clay A potter in England uses a black clay. (Craig Underhill) If you want a true black clay. There are problems with the black clay in the West coast of America as it off gasses sometimes. I love your method of using a steal rolling pin to flatten the clay. Also for using your MKM texture roller there is a spatula that you can put inside a round pot. I think it's on ETSY. It is very similar to a wooden spatula I have for spreading pancake batter on a griddle. It is about 3" flat.
I love the black clay I use and I can get it locally (Denmark). Shipping clay is expensive and since UK left the EU there are custom issues to. So I dont buy from there anymore
Very beautiful, I remember your first video too, I also like it better when it is lighter weight, Please, can you tell, how you take the plate off the wood, or show it in a video, I tried several times to use a string, or push a knive from the side, then waite until it become leather heard, but in most chases, I find it difficult to take it off, without a little damage to the back of the plate, Hope I explain myself right, will apriciate your answear, thanks in advance 🙏
Great to see the results - I remember that original video.
Thanks. I am quite happy too :-)
Nice Design and a neutral colour scheme. Gives you the feel of earth.
Thanks :-)
Consistently doing plates, especially light ones, is sure tricky. You do such beautiful work and I am so impressed. Thank you for sharing!
