I love Shawnee Smith...her way of portraying sarcasm is second to none... she should have won an award for best supporting actress. I don't know if she ever has but if not she should have... The way she looks around the office and says' this was God's plan for you?'... cracks me up every time I see it and I've watched it many times...thanks to RUclips for giving us that chance...
The writer(s) deserve immense credit... and Shawnee for bringing it like that... not only the way she says it but her mimicking and eyebrow tasing... comedy gold...
I still can't understand why they canceled this show , one of the funniest sitcoms ever here in America compared to the load of crap they are showing now.... I miss Shawnee Smith with her sarcastic remarks like only she could deliver them. Were the ratings that bad? How do they get those figures anyway and how accurate are they. I don't like Ted Danson because he's a freakn' liberal but I like his acting. Would have loved to see more of him and this show... the writing was great... oh well, we don't always get what we want..or ever...
Shawnee Smith went global, would have cost 10x to bring her back. Reggie went all activism - there was no coming back from that. Bob blew up as well. The rates went up overall on a small time program, cut the heavy hitters and produce another season or keep them and produce another season? Hmmm.... Tough one.
viewership. it's 99.9% of the time viewership. money is the bottom-line. sometimes a show will get canned cause actors/actresses want to move on though.
It was still pretty good but season 6 was probably the right time to end it. I just wish that season 6 had a full season instead of being cut down to 13.
Definitely. In fact, it was likely the reason the ratings dropped and they had to do this mini last season. To be fair tho, I liked it. Even without Reggie and Bob, they still made some memorable episodes like "Subway Story".

IMHO, Bringing in Chris to replace Reggie was a tasteless move. I loved Bob. But Hector Lopez in his short time, brought the show life in its final seasons. I just would have loved to have seen ONE EPISODE with both Bob and Hector together. Altogether, 6 seasons was enough Beckering for me!
This was a great show... the replacement of Terry Ferrell (Reggie Kostas) with Nancy Travis I originally thought was a bad move but it turned out to be pretty good. However, though Saverio Guerra (Bob) left the show and was replaced with Hector Lopez (Jorge Garcia) contributed to killing off the show
IU agree, I loved this series. Replacing Reggie with Nancy Travis' character was not as misguided as replacing Bob. Although Saverio may have quit and they had no other choice than bring in a new character. He was just great as the eternal loser Bob with the typical leather jacket. But just like Charlie Sheen turning out to be the left wing jerk he is ruined Two and a half men for me I recently discovered that Ted Danson is a good friend of the Clintons and probably donated to her presidential election campaign. That pretty much killed the show for me. I think I liked it so much because for once I would like to be a jerk like Becker and act obnoxious and uninterested instead of always being nice to everyone and doing the right thing to help others.
That is one of the reasons I chose John Becker as my alias... because he takes no BS and neither do I. Anyways, I also thought that Two and a Half Men went down hill after Sheen left. I saw the first Ashton Kutcher season and after that, they lost me. Mainly because I am far, far against homosexuality but hey, to each their own. I often describe liberalism as "both Conservatives and Liberals have groups of rich people, no denying that. The difference between them is conservatives want to provide you and me the opportunity to join the club (aka have a net value of $1,000,000 or more) while liberals want to keep people like you and me out of the club only making it elite"
How can you be far against homosexuality as an obvious liberal? Aren't they the ones promoting tolerance, diversity and 'integration'? Oh right, they are also known for hypocrisy because when a baker refuses to bake a wedding cake for a gay couple ther lambast him for being homophobic. Needless to say I despise liberals with a passion. But I agree with you that Two and a Half men went down the tubes when Sheen left and they felt the need to 'spice it up' a little to compensate and bring more sex into it forcing Angus T. Jones to leave as well because of how perverse the show had become. I'm not a big fan of Kutcher although I think he was right to play Kelso on That '70s show and a friend told me has great portraying Steve Jobs in that movie I never saw but the loss of the tension between the two brothers as total opposites and yet a combined dislike of their mother killed the show. Shakespeare already knew antagonists and opposites make great theater and/or comedy. And that's what made Becker a great show too. It is full of it, antagonism, people opposing each other. And let's not forget Shawnee Smith who was perfect as 'Here's the thing' incompetent Linda.
