Wow, thanks for this tutorial ! I was wondering how the F I was going to creat original motion data, and tracing seemed like the most cheap option, but this is perfect !!! Especially with vmd native format omg
Yeah and the app is still improving. Haven't tried it yet but I've seen that they added facial expressions and half-body motions and now testing hand motions

It can only do 30 seconds of animation. So it's only for short stuff like tiktok and such. Unless you want to upload 30 seconds of your clip. It also can't do groups or chibis 😢
They have a 1 minute version and also if you want to make for example a three minute video, you can simply cut the video into 3 parts and upload the video separately and combine their motion in MMD. For example, the first part of the video is 30 seconds which will end at frame 1800 so for the second part of the video, you can start the motion at frame 1801. They are still developing the other features at the moment such as group and half body motion so it will be available later
I hope future updates includes a minute length and multiple people. I really like this app before using it ( I have to pay yet but I'm saving now so no worries ) .

I love your thorough tutorials, but I'll tell ya right now that if you really want a sense of accomplishment, AI ain't gonna cut it. There's nothing like that feeling of triumph after your own effort! Your own blood, sweat, and tears! ...Also, I can't imagine what it'd be like to render a much longer video with bones registered at literally every keyframe. 😬
I don't use AI to feel a sense of accomplishment, I use it as a TOOL just like we use cars instead of horse to go to places or using phones to send a message instead of sending letters via mail or doves. I am a Software Engineer irl so I don't see things black and white like we need to use this and not that. I use tools to make the process for me and my clients easier. The technology is there so we can't stop it but we can incorporate it in our processes just like what we always do as humans when new technologies arise. Btw, my tutorials that you like to watch uses AI voice because I'm shy irl and my voice sucks but the scripts, recording, editing, etc. and all the hard work and sleepless nights trying to finish the tutorial on time were made by me. Just like what is said in the last episode of Frieren: "Magic is just a tool, there's no liking or disliking it". They can punch each other to fight or they can use magic to accomplish their task whichever is easier

Do you know of a way to get the images to be transparent? I want to get a character to do all these poses, but I want to remove the background. However, the character has bloom on him, so it's kind of annoying sometimes because the bloom gets selected when I do it in Photoshop.
If you want to remove the background so you can use it in photoshop, go to "background" then then select black background. After that export the image as png and it will give you a transparent background
As much as I love this it sucks that the max you can do even at the highest price is a little under a minute, but I guess even if you can't combine a bunch of vmd files into one thing you can record the different sections and combine the videos together and hopefully it isn't too janky. Correct me if I'm wrong everybody, also thanks for the invitation code.
I remember they have 120 secs before but its for annual. I don't know if that's still available but yeah you can upload a video in parts and combine the vmd files later in MMD. They've added face and hand motions and other features since I made this video
@@meh4371 if for example you have 240s video, you can cut the video into 2 separate video 120s each and upload it on quickmagic separately. Once you have the vmd motion for each video, go to mmd load the vmd for the first part of the video then for example if it ends at frame 3600, go to frame 3601 and load the other vmd for the 2nd part
I see your new sona and I love it! Question, since it's definitely a vroid model, how do you get it ready in mmd for videos? I have a few but it feels like they're missing things compared to the MMD model I downloaded for animation practice.
First, I convert the model from vrm to pmx using vrm2pmx converter. Then, fix the broken texture using an image editor. After that, I rename and regroup the bones and facial morph in pmx editor because vroid kinda group everything into one so I have to fix that
@@EeveelutionStorm ok just give me some time so I can collect some topics and put them together to make a tutorial video. Might take a while because I'm still learning pmx editor
You don't have to like or dislike it, use it like a tool to speed up the process like for example, you can calculate something(tangent of 45 degrees, square root of 156737, etc.) from scratch or you can use a calculator. Calculator can make it easier but that doesn't mean they can replace mathematician. We can't stop progress/technological advancement once it's out so we need to adapt and use it in our advantage

Yeah, they are continuously updating it. Just now I visited and they already have half body and face capture as well. For now, if you want to make a 3 mins long motion, cut the video into parts and upload them separately until you complete the whole motion
I just received their reply regarding this matter and they told me that their server can only handle up to 120 secs at the moment and will add that later when they add the hand capture feature
Bro, are you peeping my mind? how can you upload a tutorial simultaneously when I am trying to search for motion capture lecture today lol. Big thanks for it!!
You can import the motion to fbx file then use a blender plugin called rokoko plugin to retarget the animation to a model then export it as vmd using another blender plugin called mmd tools plugin. I saw someone use Unity as well but that one I don't know how he did that

QuickMagic is only free on some features but if you want to use vmd, you need to pay because they need to earn to maintain the service since it uses a lot of computing power. There are work arounds that users do like exporting it as fbx for blender instead of vmd then retarget the animation using rokoko plugin and once done, they convert it to vmd using the mmd tools plugin in blender. Some use Unity to do that but I don't know the exact steps they made
People in the community write to me that sfm is more convenient and better than mmd, although I am still in favor of MMD, and what is your opinion, is it possible to make animations more efficiently in mmd than in sfm?
I don't know sfm(first time I heard of it) so I can't really give an informed opinion which is better but when it comes to software, I don't pick sides. I pick whichever is more easy for me to use and that is different for every person. Sfm could be better but if I'm more comfortable using MMD, I'll stick to it
Thanks for the tutorials, they're very useful. I was wondering what's the name of the BGM used in this video and the MMD Effects video? It's absolutely catchy.
I actually don't know because I bought this in unity asset store a few years ago. The package is an jrpg bgm pack and the file name is just named battle1.mp3
You just have to upload the video in Avi format like what I did in this tutorial. You need to compress the video to lower it's file size because MMD doesn't work with videos with large file size
Ive been trying to use quickmagic but nothing is working, my quickmagic looks nothing like yours and im confused. Im also stupid so that prolly doesnt help when I upload videos it tells me to detect the character and when i do it only does it for a frame edit:somehow i used all my credits trying to get it to work ;-; im so dumbb
They made some changes with the UI when they added multi person feature. I suggest going to their discord server and ask them all the things you have encountered with their latest update
Lol this happens to be exactly how I have used Quickmagic with the hand poses and all. Thanks for the tips on using the 2D Refinement as I was too scared to figure that out on my own and also thanks for teaching me about the random blinking feature, did not know. Also my main issue with Quickmagic so far I have been dealing with is inaccuracies in arm movement and arms ghosting into the models body so I have been mostly reanimating the arms for now. Though it might also just be the models I typically use have bigger bodies/chests than traditional TDA Models. Any tips on fixing arm movements?
For the arm movements when my video is super clear, I'm not having issues but there are some inaccuracies sometimes. What I do is remove 5 frames before and after where the inaccuracy is located then twist the bone in the correct direction to have a smooth transition

They are still developing the other features at the moment such as group and half body motion so it will be available later

...Also, I can't imagine what it'd be like to render a much longer video with bones registered at literally every keyframe.

I don't know sfm(first time I heard of it) so I can't really give an informed opinion which is better but when it comes to software, I don't pick sides.
