    How to Find a Throat or Radius of It

      The throat is determined by you depending on how tight in you want it or far out. The radius I'm assuming the diameter of the pipe. If so, then you choose the diameter size and you ×'s it by 3.1416 and youll get the length of the layout.

      ​@@compasslayouts lets say you are insulating an existing pipe on the field with sheet metal. how would you determine the bend? i understand the drawings but i do not know how to find that bend radius .. they use long radius and short radius elbows in industrial piping. is there a formula or a chart they use for center line radius?
      also there is faster way to divide your layout
