Une antologie dans le répertoire de Marillion, groupe qui mérite d'être connu pour la musique et les textes de ses chansons. Je vous écoute depuis 1982 et merci pour tout, les deux steve pete mark ian.
Lyrics Three hundred miles an hour on water In your purpose-built machine No one dared to call a boat Screaming blue Out of this world Make history This is your day Blue Bird At such speeds... things fly What did she say?... I know the pain of too much tenderness Wondering when or if you'll come back again Wanting to live for you And being banned from giving But only love will turn you around Only love will turn you around Only love Only love will turn you around So we live you and I Either side of the edge And we run and we scream With the dilated stare Of obsession and dreaming What the hell do we want Is it only to go Where nobody has gone A better way than the herd Sing a different song Till you're running the ledge To the gasp from the crowd Spinning round in your head Everything that she said...
How time has flown. I clearly recall the release of AoS which coincided with milestones in my life...you just don't forget the connections some music creates. I was away from home, on a training course, in a beautiful part of the country. Memories of driving...too fast probably, down country lanes, golden fields either side, sun blazing, with AoS as the soundtrack. This song reached deep into my emotions, and still does. A masterpiece 🥲
@DaveRogersUK similar to Mr. I had just moved from my parents house in Chelmsford to a new job in Cambridge and my own flat in Cherry Hinton when I received a letter in those pre Internet (for most of us) days imforming me of a new Marillion album about to be released. Naturally I bought it at the first opportunity. And what a brilliant album it is. Absolutely perfect from start to finish. It really takes the listener on a journey. I do like an album to have a theme or direction rather than just being a collection of tracks.
An immediate turnaround (ie without refuelling), is standard practice in record breaking. And it’s not the only cause of the Bluebird tragedy. Ultimately, he was pushing K7 much faster than she was ever designed to go. Something Donald Campbell could not have known at the time
Very appropriate today. The day that Bluebird K7 arrived back in Coniston. RIP (Sir) Donald Campbell.
Indeed! Wish I could have been there myself. Fantastic to see that reception for K7.

Very emotional song with mesmerising guitar solo.
One of my favourite Rothers solos, no doubt!
Masterpiece from a unique band.
One of their best songs..
Agreed, never fails to make the hairs on my arms stand up when it appears in a set!
This song strikes me in the heart.
Yes. I know the pain of too much tenderness. Especially when it vanishes all in a sudden one day...
Lyrics
Three hundred miles an hour on water
In your purpose-built machine
No one dared to call a boat
Screaming blue
Out of this world
Make history
This is your day
Blue
Bird
At such speeds... things fly
What did she say?...
I know the pain of too much tenderness
Wondering when or if you'll come back again
Wanting to live for you
And being banned from giving
But only love will turn you around
Only love will turn you around
Only love
Only love will turn you around
So we live you and I
Either side of the edge
And we run and we scream
With the dilated stare
Of obsession and dreaming
What the hell do we want
Is it only to go
Where nobody has gone
A better way than the herd
Sing a different song
Till you're running the ledge
To the gasp from the crowd
Spinning round in your head
Everything that she said...
One of their best imo
Truly excellent from an excellent band \o/
Man this makes me cry.. Just knowing what is to come..
from about 4:00 to the end always seems to me to be the climax of the amazing Afraid of Sunlight album
