Thank you for the video! I'm looking to buy an SVC110 for silent practise with headphones and I don't want to rely on the built-in pre-amp. What's the best setup if my only goal is silent practise with headphones and I only care about rich/full sound? :)

Hi Jacob. I love your videos. I see that you have your NS cello mounted to the wall. I would like to do the same. Which hanger did you use?

So I finally caught, at the very end of this, where you mentioned solid-body cellos typically needing amps. So was nearly every minute of this video mostly about regular acoustic cellos with pickups? And that actual electric instruments such as Yamaha/NS would need the amp most likely?

      Ryan,
Thanks for your comments in for supporting our work/joining the site! Much appreciated man! So the reason why I mention solid body instruments is because typically people don’t want to spend all of their time with ears on, but if that’s not an issue, you certainly don’t need any help with solid bodies for any particular reason other than that

@@ElectricStringPlayer well frankly, I only just now discovered I could get my electric sound on my NS through headphones while plugged into nothing else! 😂 I mostly wanted to know because I may be playing with a band someday soon, and wanted to make sure what I truly needed to play live in indoor & outdoor club settings using an NS CR. I already own and mess around with a Fender Rumble 40 amp, bought specifically for this cello, and want to be sure if amp is what I need, or if it’s not necessary, how I could do it instead. I’m completely new to the electric and actual gigging world.
I was just very surprised and caught off guard by the content of this video vs. the title of it. I did finish part 2 on ThePickupTest, but continue to have lots of questions. Thank you so much for being responsive! I didn’t expect that, and really appreciate it.

I want to get an electric violin but would only be playing for family and friends at home. Currently looking at NS WAV. What would you suggest?

Depending on your price range. Try the Small Fishmann Loudbox. Look on Reverb.com for a good used one.

I got the ns desing cr and i am looking for an amp too. I need the amp for practicing and small concerts. Want it to be light, max 700$. Would you recommend anything else to check out?

@@marysiajanaszek8201You are in a tough spot price wise as allot of the boutique amps (and ones that are very small but give you great performance) like Acoustic Image, AER, MArkbass (works very well with electric cellos) etc are still slightly above that price range, so I would say to try the Fishmann Loudbox as well as in this range you may be paying more for less (especially in terms of features/ease of use/and portability) . Also assuming that you didn't get a low F string/5 string as that would change my recommendation.

Hi! What can you say about Roland Micro Cube for electro violin and playing at home with it?

That amp is fine for violin... nothing special but ok for practice in our opinion.
