Hmmm … nice game but when will Ghana (and Nigeria) join FMJD and play the international version by adhering to the World Draughts Federation rules? There are now over 70 countries in the Federation with about 17 African countries as members. Why are we not members? We need to see Ghanaians on the world Top 100 list.
What we play in Ghana (and Nigeria) is called the mirrored version. Both versions (International and Mirrored) require the same set of mind skills except of course, adapting to the board orientation and majority capture rule. However, we cannot expect the rest of the world to change to our version. So why our hesitation? Many African countries have switch and we are becoming more and more isolated.
In just two years of switching from the mirrored to the international version, the talented grandmaster Baba Sy of Senegal was able to win the World Championship in 1963. In recent years, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Cameroon, Gambia, Mali, and Burkina Fasu have all formally switched and now have players listed in the top World 100. So if our Ghanaian players are that good they should be able to make the top 100 in no time. Other than that, our play will always be considered sub par.
So for now, we cannot expect to compare ourselves to African internationally recognized grandmasters such as Atse, Njofang or N'diaje neither will we get a chance for them to come and play us. These guys have left the mirrored version behind and now hold their own against the best players in the world.
It is time for us to go on the world scene and challenge the best and prove our worth just like Baba Sy did in the 1960s. That's if we want to be serious about draughts.

@@kofiaddo8949 this game was at least draw for Abu. OGA they can never draw his game koraaaa. The standard is very very law. In Côte-d'Ivoire they have draught schools and players are famous respected honoured and well rewarded . Atse Joël travel throughout the world. He is world champion, African champion and several times Côte-d'Ivoire champion including 2022. He is one of the 3 african best players of all times ( the Senegalese Baby SY, The Cameroonian Jean Marc N'Jofang). Atse studied all types of draughts since his childhood. He can face any player in the world. He studied more than 100 famous draught books as well as the most powerful softwares. The FMJD president told me he is the only African player who is able to draw the most draught powerful softwares. He beat the 10 times russian world champion to win the title : Alexis T.
The GMI ( GRAND MAÎTRE INTERNATIONAL) Atse was the only African player to pass the play off during the the world championship in Estonia. I'm 10,000 miles far from his level but I can challenge any Ghanian player. The standard is very law compared to Atse, but I'm not personally better than them.

@@kofiaddo8949 but I can understand You. Please Sir, I respect You but I can see that You don't know anything about draughts. I'm here in Ghana and I'm even about to organize a big competition very soon in Ghana. I used to to do it but this one will be a big one. I know the game and I used to be a very good player in both countries Côte-d'Ivoire and Ghana.
