Been tracking these storms for days and I live in NC. This has been one of the best reports and break downs I've come across. What an amazing meteorologist and team.
It really was. He had the close ups, Kings Tides knowledge, Manatee to Clearwater coverage and a lot of sound advice. More of this stuff actually helps people when it happens.
Watching this storm from Charlotte County. I hope it doesn't turn into another Ian. :( By the way, this was the best breakdown of the storm so far. Great job!
The pressure is already down under 1000 mb and currently steering practically neutral in the Yucatan pocket while shifting into a pretty significant outlying circulation. I will be surprised if it journeys along at CAT 1 status barely at a 2 come landfall. @@steveludwig4200
It's the pressure that is the most important key variable vastly overlooked in storm strength prediction. Any hurricane that falls under 930mb and especially 920mb and below are true monsters. Early storm systems like this one already under 1000 mb is a tell, tell, sign of significant strengthening already, but depending on upper level sheering and steering variables, could stall out on track as a CAT 2 but I don't think so. @@ROTALOT
Don’t listen to these weather people saying it’ll only be a cat 2 . This will be at least a 3/4. Only good thing is if it makes landfall in the center of the cone there isn’t much population in that area
The names get recycled every six years until there's a bad enough storm to retire the name. Six years ago it was Hurricane Irma, so I believe this is the first season with Idalia. According to the National Hurricane Center, the names are now managed by an international committee of the World Meteorological Organization. So you'll have to ask them why they chose Idalia 😅
Like all meteorologist cant predict Florida weather....its a guess at best....Do what you want and do research from different ppl. These local guys are ridiculous!!!!😅😅😅
Come on man. Not cool even to joke around about something like that. Those poor people are still trying to rebuild their lives from all the devastation that Ian caused last year.
At 3 minute mark is the reason Trump got out his sharpie and swirled it around making fun of the forecasters who have no clue where the hurricane is going
Yeah, that guy loves spreading fake news, he proved he himself also had no clue where the hurricane was going. Everyone knows you can’t predict Mother Nature. These people are experts though and knew better than the president. Keep twisting the narrative tho. I’m sure you could track storms better than the professionals, right?

Thanks Bobby! Dover here.
Can you ask it to go towards Okeechobee, I don’t want to go to school anymore.

Be brave stay home and give up. No reason to wish danger on people.
@@arielsea9087 🤣😂 okay bro boo hoo
Models are already showing paths to Southwest Florida. That wasn't there yesterday. Pay attention SW Florida.
THAT STORM WILL BE MUCH STRONGER THAN A CAT 2 ONCE IT GETS INTO THE GULF!
150-155 mph at landfall per most accurate computer models.
Yes it will Katrinafy over such HOT water. The heat bulbs here at south tip of Wakulla have been phenomenal.

Agreed
no lol, itll be a TS when it makes landfall

Water temperature in the gulf is over 90D, it could be a monster before you know it.
Not to mention its a supermoon.
Why do all these hurricanes start with I 😂 first it’s Irma, then Ian, and now Idalia
Every year the storms are named in alphabetical order
Dont forget Ivan awhile back...
@@ashleynoel2754 I know but it seems the “I” one always hit us
@@WaddlePR lol true
Omg Idalia please come here to the east coast
If you would kindly ask Idalia to not hit Tampa I would appreciate that thank you.
I would love a day off work as long as people are safe but i saltwater fish to so im a little nervous
I have a feeling it will move east closer to Tampa....may come in thru the very center of FL.
How is it getting that strong when it's over land amd then only a short time over water??
Because the Gulf is like bathwater right now.
Sw had irma and ian we're still shell shocked.
if this turns into SW FL its gonna be the 3rd letter i hurricane
What a horrible name who is naming these storms somebody that is 116 years old.
What name you want, Beatriz? 😂
Hurricane Shaniqua

They skipped Gertrude, Hortencia and Hester but Mauve, Jolene and Xander are still possibilities.
Im more scared this becomes like a category 5 hurricane or sm I'm around Pinellas
My grass looks like it’s on the verge of total death we need the rain!
Yes, we need rain, not death via a CAT 2 - CAT 5 hurricane!
Is that a hurricane at your door or are you just happy to breeze me? 😊
Absolutely sensational ! I'm on the edge of my seat and buying 1k worth of bottled water and all the batteries i can find right now.
Everyone needs the rain
After a certain point the soil stops absorbing water. We need some rain, but not this much. 😅
Rain is pointless when its falling on 7 ft storm surge
@@ytgytgy Exactly. That much water will kill the grass and a ton of other foliage as well.
Hate when these things come through overnight. Makes it hard to sleep lol. Can't they have the decency to plow through during the day?
direct hit in bucs stadium !

I wish it would curve right into central Florida because we need the rain.
No need for it to curve more towards us. The rain bands will bring plenty of rain.

Actually it's because you and trump are too stupid to understand forecast models, or anything at all.
