My uncle sadly passed away earlier this year, but I will always remember him playing Hellecasters and Status Quo. This song has been engraved into my brain and I don't mind one bit!
Still love this song and the men who made it I have this cassette. First heard it on "alternative" radio. Thank you both to the group who produced this song AND the station who aired it.
One of the great, and largely unknown and thus underrated, rock instrumentals of all time. The album has other terrific cuts too, Would love to have seen them live.
Never saw them as a group, but caught John Jorgenson when he was touring with his Django Reinhardt inspired Franco American Swing. Love Hellecasters...
Saw John Jorgensen with his Gypsy band in NH. Nice guy hung out after show signed CDs . Oh and his gypsy band was great. He played guitar. Mandolin, banjo, sax and sang!
I remember when this was considered "alternative" rock. This group is awesome and very talented. Still love them. Waiting to see a "new" group surpass their ability.
Saw them in Madison, Wisconsin & the John Jorgenson Quintet in Wisconsin Rapids. Lucky to have alternative college station WWSP in Stevens Point, Wis. and WSUM & WORT in Madtown!
i love listening to this kind of music hellecasters, gamalon check them out too this is where its at man !! i love the song passion by hellecasters ...there the truth
You can see what John is doing in this live video - about 1:45 in) . By altering the distance between the guitar and amp he can fine tune how much feedback he gets. IMHO his execution on the studio album is much better. ruclips.net/video/bjR-CdRf3jA/видео.html
Many fond memories with this band on backroad detours out of Fort Worth to the ranch at Lake Eufaula.

There is something special about this track.
I've always thought of this song as a perfect funeral send off
Are you trying to bring someone back?
This WILL be played at my father's funeral.
Then that would be “Back IN Terra Firma”?
😅
The Hellecasters are a forgotten group. Too bad. Because they are great. Excellent guitar . Nice & crisp.
Love this song. These guys are epic.
Saw these guys in Reno back in the day and they were great......
Heard this one the radio and I had to park on the side just so I can identify this song. This song frealing rules.

Are they using overdrive or distortion or just straight boost to get that tone for the solo parts, that is a boss tone!.
