I bought a 13 Pro because of the better Price here in Germany (Apple raised the prices for the new iPhone here in Germany up to 15%) and now i am sure i did the right thing. I also bought the Apple Watch Series 7 instead of the Series 8. I am happy with that decision.

Thanks. I mostly shoot my 13 Pro with the telephoto in portrait mode and I see very little difference. In fact, the 13 looks a bit better. I'll pass on the 14 and hope for an upgraded telephoto sensor/camera on the 15.

This makes me feel better about keeping my 13 pro. I was totally going to upgrade for the island & camera but now... ehhh. My 13p takes fantastic pics already and hardly any apps use the island anyway. Maybe I'll upgrade if more apps start utilizing the island, who knows.
I wonder if some of these differences in sharpness and color (where the 13p does better) can/will be improved with software updates. I can imagine Apple needing more user data and feedback to fine tune the new camera/modes/sensors. Possible?
Looked to me like many of the photos were better on the 13 pro than the 14 pro. Maybe it's just my perception of what takes a better photo than just the sharpness of the photo which seems to be what you are basing your test on for a better camera.
I had already decided for a 13pro max (have an 11 pro now) and now I am very sure that I made the right decision, at least regarding the camera! Not feeling the dynamic island and I don't care about the satellite thing since it won't even work here in Sweden. The 14 pro/max is also way too expensive anyway since Apple raised the price here.
Some of the new Features of the 14 line are softwarebased. Especially the dynamic island animation is also possible on the notch iPhones . The camera looks better on the 14 pro but the pictures on the 13 pro could be better in my opinion when the software is more adjustable . The automatic Filters on the 13 pro create a aquarell like picture.
I have to say, as a very picky hairdresser, the iPhone 14 pro is the first phone since the original iPhone 5 looking SE that didn’t make perfectly clean hair look slightly greasy, sharpness isn’t always desirable

13 Pro to 14 Pro isn’t an upgrade. It’s a change. For anyone with an 11 Pro or older, the newer design, larger displays, and cameras would be worth it.
Thank for this video! I really wanted to upgrade from the 13 Pro as I read about that new 48 mega pixel main camera with the larger sensor. But it seems to be let down.
One word about sharpeness. More sharp isn't always better... in fact, current sharpness levels on iPhones processing are way over the top. Micro-sharpeness and contrast are highly exaggerated and produce overly-processed images that start to look worse, rather than better. Hope they improve this. 48mp raw files and 48mg jpegs from Halide do look stunning though!
Deep fusion/photonic engine is really bad. It crushes the shadows and over sharpens so aggressively it's making me rethink my 14 Pro Max purchase; had an iPhone 8 Plus long ago and loved how natural the photos looked... so long. Sad too 'cause you can see the untouched version moments after taking a picture; just to see it get destroyed seconds later f
8:49 The 13 pro is way better. More detail in the shadows, and more over all depth. The Colour temperature is software in 14 pro, as is the sharpness combined with higher megapixel.

The camera of the iPhone 14 Pro is really great, but the iPhone 13 Pro camera is of great quality, so there is not much difference between the cameras of these two phones.
I literally just watched the iPhone 14 pro video and then saw this one. Btw thanks for giving me a shout out in the apple event that was live. I was sooooo happy when you did that.

if you are always using 48mp and photography and videography, the 14 pro is definitely the better choice. If you're a casual user who wants great performance and great camera then the 13 pro is just as good
Regarding the plant photo, you mentioned the 14 looks sharper in the leaves on the right, but if you look at the other leaves, it shows just how artificially sharpened it was. Shadowed features shouldn't be too sharp, because well lit items will be over-sharp.
Apple makes their cameras better with updates throughout the year! That saying, I am perfectly happy with my 13 pro max. I don’t really need anything much better right now. Unless they give us 10x telephoto lense or something. Also I enjoy the notch more than the dynamic island. Seems less distracting.
The evolution of the iphone 14 pro is marginal. If you have to zoom in a photo to see the differences. It's no use upgrading from the 13 pro. May be for the 15 pro. Good review Daniel 👍👍👍
I agree for portrait and ultrawide but he is smoking crack if he thinks audio is better on the 13 pro. sounds so much more natural and less muted on the 14.
This is the first 13 pro to 14 pro comparison review I've seen (still not a lot out there yet) that shows the 13 pro ultra wide photos to be as good as or better than the 14 pro. I don't understand why this is so, given the larger size 14 pro ultra wide sensor. Could it be an image stabilization issue with the 14 pro? Also why isn't this reflected on the macro where the 14 pro is clearly better as macro also uses the ultrawide lens. In another review I saw the l14 pro ultra wide low light photo was clearly superior to that of the 13 pro, so I'm not understanding what is going on here.
Based on all the camera reviews I have seen looks like defective stabilization on his phone or something specific to his phone. In all the other reviews the 14 photos were sharper than 13 not by a lot but still. Unless everyone else was bribed by Apple 😜
If I had an iPhone 13 pro I honestly I wouldn't upgrade to the 14 pro, but since I have the iPhone XR right now, I think upgrading to the 14 pro is a must.
I got the 13 pro last year specifically for the camera so I can take better pictures and videos. I can see there’s no major difference between the 13 pro and 14 pro cameras but there still are little differences and that’s gonna bother me 😂 oh well I’m not paying for the 14 pro just gonna stick with the 13 pro
I mean the audio could have been distorted on how he was holding the phone if his hand was covering the mic so 1 clip isn’t enough to show the audio difference
woah, its really weird... from other reviewers, the 14 pros has better photos than 13 pros most of the time especially in lowlight.. but from you, the 13 pros are clearly better... im now torn between getting a 13 pro vs 14 pro lol
Problem is that according to Apple the camera supposed to be the biggest highlight of this year. So it shouldn't be "most of the time" or "a bit better". It should have been a major difference in favor of the 14 Pro and it is definitely, undeniably not the case.
I am on the fence again. I currently have an 11 pro max, with a pending order for the 14 pro max (512gb) I am wondering if I should just go the used 13 pro max route and save some cash.
Like the other comments, i think your unit is faulty. Non of the other reviews on RUclips have a 14pro worse then a 13pro. I understan the change is not dramatic from one year to the other, but the older to be better then the 14....take your phone back!
11:18 the 14 pro is better here, because it has F1.9, which is better, excepts more light in, than 2.2. It makes the image sharper in the tips of objects.
From my tests with my 13 pro and 14 pro I notice a lot of what you are saying, but where I see a huge leap is the video side. 4k30 cinematic I’ve gotten some unreal footage of the beach vs what my 13 pro could do
So the only real benefit is the ability to shoot 48 raw, which take up a ton of space. But if you’re at some great location and want to take a great picture, maybe print and frame it, the 14 pro is the answer. Some shots it has more detail but I’m iffy on that oversharpening. I have an X that I recently swapped out the broken screen.. but in doing so, it must’ve messed up thermals and it gets hot, runs slower, etc. my buddy may sell me his 12 for 350 which should last me at least until the 16 comes out, which will hopefully correct all the issues. I actually prefer the picture processing in the 11 compared to the 12, but at least the 12 has OLED 🤷🏻♂️ Also annoyed the lens still shows the green orbs (as seen in the nighttime video comparison here). The most distracting thing in a pic is a floating green blotch. Idk why the brilliant minds can’t fix this.
Does anyone still get the lens flare issue with the iPhone 14 pro max? I’m still getting the green dot floating spring my camera with my iphone 14 pro max
The IDIOTS at Apple incessantly striving to thwart/prevent JailBreaking, coupled with them nixing the physical SIM tray finally caused me to switch to a Samsung Galaxy...

Hey , Do you have any protective cover like a lens protector over your lens or you just use a good quality case?
The evolution of the iphone 14 pro is marginal. If you have to zoom in a photo to see the differences. It's no use upgrading from the 13 pro. May be for the 15 pro.
Good review Daniel 👍👍👍
I feel some minor adjustments before and after shot and using the built in styles and filters might help alot. I usually use the warm stules
do you live in Manchester? because that seems like Mediacity
I would say all these iphone 14 improvements could happen with software update on 13 series.
I'll just buy a used iPhone in half price.
7:20 - just a different focus point.
Exactly, 13 is focused on eyes and 14 is focused on the nose
I am confuse between 13 pro and 14 pro I don’t know if there is a big deference between them which one you advice me to take
Man looked like David Beckham in the video comparison
I agree for portrait and ultrawide but he is smoking crack if he thinks audio is better on the 13 pro. sounds so much more natural and less muted on the 14.
Selfie photos and quality still needs a lot of improvements on all cameras man
Does iPhone camera improve with software update???
Guess they'll adjust the 14 pro via software update. The cameras gotta be better than the 13 pro.
Manchester? Subscribed!
Can u please make a video about all the best settings for the camera and videocamera for the iphone 14 pro 🫡🫡
If I had an iPhone 13 pro I honestly I wouldn't upgrade to the 14 pro, but since I have the iPhone XR right now, I think upgrading to the 14 pro is a must.
What a nice video. Was looking for this. And suddenly saw it in my recommendeds after i stopped searching for 13 pro vs 14 pro camera comparisons
I got the 13 pro last year specifically for the camera so I can take better pictures and videos. I can see there’s no major difference between the 13 pro and 14 pro cameras but there still are little differences and that’s gonna bother me 😂 oh well I’m not paying for the 14 pro just gonna stick with the 13 pro
i actually liked the audio on the 14 pro tho... idk, the 13 pro's audio sounded muffled to me
I mean the audio could have been distorted on how he was holding the phone if his hand was covering the mic so 1 clip isn’t enough to show the audio difference
woah, its really weird... from other reviewers, the 14 pros has better photos than 13 pros most of the time especially in lowlight.. but from you, the 13 pros are clearly better... im now torn between getting a 13 pro vs 14 pro lol
I was going for 14pro but tons of people sayin it has worse battery than 13pro .
Better make choice after the battery drain results come out.
Problem is that according to Apple the camera supposed to be the biggest highlight of this year. So it shouldn't be "most of the time" or "a bit better". It should have been a major difference in favor of the 14 Pro and it is definitely, undeniably not the case.
His unit is faulty one
Can you direct me to the said videos. Interested to watch them
I am on the fence again. I currently have an 11 pro max, with a pending order for the 14 pro max (512gb) I am wondering if I should just go the used 13 pro max route and save some cash.
may i ask if how’s the battery life of ip14 pro bec i’m torn between the ip13 pro an ip14 pro 😅
Do you guys think that alot of the problems with the 14 pros camera will be fixed with software updates?
How did you edit the photo at 1:25?
Still that damn lens flair
Like the other comments, i think your unit is faulty. Non of the other reviews on RUclips have a 14pro worse then a 13pro. I understan the change is not dramatic from one year to the other, but the older to be better then the 14....take your phone back!
The mic is much better on the 14 pro? are you high?
11:18 the 14 pro is better here, because it has F1.9, which is better, excepts more light in, than 2.2. It makes the image sharper in the tips of objects.
From my tests with my 13 pro and 14 pro I notice a lot of what you are saying, but where I see a huge leap is the video side. 4k30 cinematic I’ve gotten some unreal footage of the beach vs what my 13 pro could do
@ 0:21 are you sure they are both 26mm?
The fact that you have to pixel peep just to notice a difference proves you dont need it
Thanks for this!
I actually prefer the picture processing in the 11 compared to the 12, but at least the 12 has OLED 🤷🏻♂️
Also annoyed the lens still shows the green orbs (as seen in the nighttime video comparison here). The most distracting thing in a pic is a floating green blotch. Idk why the brilliant minds can’t fix this.
Does anyone still get the lens flare issue with the iPhone 14 pro max? I’m still getting the green dot floating spring my camera with my iphone 14 pro max
7:00 this really bothers me...
I have a Samsung Galaxy S21 and I want to pick an iPhone but now I don't know if 13 pro or 14 pro
So I will upgrade from 8 plus should I buy 13 pro or 14 pro ??
Which is generally better in terms of photography, your reply helps me
The IDIOTS at Apple incessantly striving to thwart/prevent JailBreaking, coupled with them nixing the physical SIM tray finally caused me to switch to a Samsung Galaxy...
I think a lot of details & noise "issues" on iPhone 14 Pro will be fixed thru an update, definitely the hardware of iPhone 14 Pro is better.
After I saw this video I am little bit disappointed by iPhone 14 pro ,I know iPhone 14 pro has great hardware
If you have to zoom in to see the difference, it's not really a major upgrade. The only major upgrade camera wise is the front camera.
Maybe the "3X better than" feature in low light helps take the photo faster, not necessarily better
Aperture on 14 Pro is smaller, not bigger. Bigger sensor so bigger net gain in light but only a tiny amount.
samsungs software processing of the sky crushes the iphone at any time of day haha
