I am not a scholar and have mainly learned Islam through studying on my own. How I found Islam is a story in and of itself. I do honestly believe Ruqyah can cure some of the issues you and the psychologist call severe even to another person you do it for with the intention of helping that particular person or that household.

    Al-Mu'minun 23:1
Certainly will the believers have succeeded:
    Al-Mu'minun 23:2
They who are during their prayer humbly intent
    Al-Mu'minun 23:3
And they who turn away from ill speech
    Al-Mu'minun 23:4
And they who are observant of zakāh
    Al-Mu'minun 23:5
And they who guard their private parts
    Al-Mu'minun 23:6
Except from their wives or those their right hands possess,[1] for indeed, they will not be blamed -
    Al-Mu'minun 23:7
But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors -
    Al-Mu'minun 23:8
And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive
    Al-Mu'minun 23:9
And they who carefully maintain their prayers
    Al-Mu'minun 23:10
    Those are the inheritors
    Al-Mu'minun 23:11
Who will inherit al-Firdaus.They will abide there eternally

I don’t trust people at the mosque nor people in general because they discriminated against me, didn’t want to pray near me nor acknowledge me! I finally stopped praying at the mosque when I was doing asr prayer. After the prayer everybody smiled at each other and gave salam to one another but ignored me. I remember when I will salat 2 rakah before and after the imam leads the prayer by myself people at the mosque brothers would silently judge me, ridicule me and silently hostile towards me. My cousin became the president of the local mosque I used to pray at but he left because he was ashamed of me because people look down on me. I couldn’t believe people in the mosque were like this. I felt shocked and paralysed. I only trust and depend on Allah and myself. Fuck everyone that is fake and hypocritical only Allah knows what’s in our hearts so you can pray all you want but again only our creator truly knows our intentions, too many snakes in life regardless Muslim/believer or not. It what it is, this my path and test all gave me and it’s very cold dunia but I’ll keep on living for Allah’s mercy in my soul.

    1. It was narrated that Abu Umaamah said:
"The Messenger of Allah SAW said: "Whoever recites Ayatul Kursi immediately after each prescribed prayer, there will be nothing standing between him and his entering Paradise except death."
    2. Abu Hurairah reported that the Prophet SAW said: "He who says 'Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi (Glory and praise be to Allah) one hundred times a day, his sins will be obliterated even if they are equal to the extent of the foam of sea.
    (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)
    3. Abu Hurairah reported that the Prophet SAW said: "There are two statements that are light on the tongue, heavy on the scales and beloved to the Most Merciful: Subhana Allahi wa bihamdihi, Subhanalli Al-Azeem (Glory and praise is be to Allah, Glorified is Allah the Most Great)." (Al-Bukhari)
    4. Abu Hurairah reported that the Prophet SAW said: "He who repeats Subhan Allah (Glory be to Allah) thirty three times, Al-hamdu lilah (praise be to Allah) thirty three times and Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest) thirty four times and completes the hundred with: La ilaha illallahu, wahdahu la sharikalahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdh, wa huwa 'ala kulli shai'in qadir (There is no true god except Allah. He is One and has no partner. His is the sovereignty and His is the praise, and His is the Omnipotent) will have all his sins pardoned even if they may be as large as the foam on the surface of the sea." (Muslim)
    5. Zaid ibn Harithah narrated that the Prophet SAW said: Whoever says Astaghfirullah al-Azeem al-ladzi la ilaha illa howa Al-Hayy Al'Qayum wa atubu ilaih (I ask forgiveness of Allah, the Most Magnificent, than whom their is no deity, the Living, the Sustainer of Existance, I turn to him in repentance). His sins will be forgiven even if he should have run away from the battlefield (while he was engaged if fighting for the cause of Allah, which is a grave sin in Islam)
    8. Whoever reads Surah Al-Kahf on Friday, it will act as a light/protection for him from one Friday to the next.
    (Bayhaqi)
    9. Whoever says: "Radheetu billahi Rabba, wa bil Islaami Deena, wa bi Muhammad Nabiyya" - "I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, and with Muhammad as my Prophet, Paradise would be (made) mandatory for him.
    (Abu Dawud)
    10. Whoever asks Allah for Paradise three times (Allahumma inni as'aluk al-Jannah), then Paradise will say "O Allah! Enter him into Paradise!" And whoever seeks protection with Allah from the Fire three times (Allahumma ajirni min an-Nar), the Fire will say "O Allah! Protect him from the Fire!" (Tirmidhi)
    11. Whoever is easy-going, gentle and kind, Allah will make the Fire forbidden for him (Hakim)
    12. In Paradise there are rooms whose outside can be seen from the inside and the inside can be seen from the outside. Allah has prepared them for those who feed the poor, who are gentle in speech, who fast regularly and who pray at night when (other) people are asleep.
    (Ahmad)
    13. Narrated from Abu Harayrah that the Prophet SAW said: "There is a Surah of the Qur'an, with thirty verses, that interceded for a man until he was forgiven; it is 'Surah Tabaarak Alladhi bi yadihi'l-mulk (Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion)' (Al-Mulk 67:1)
•If you pass this on, It is Sadaqul Jaria (meaning you keep on getting rewarded for it, every time someone acts upon it, even when you have died until the day of Judgement).

Neither do I have a mental illness or
think of committing suicide.I sincerely believe if a person observes 5 Daily
Salat,Nawafis, prays Tahajjud or Qiyam regardless of the challenges the
person passes through he or she will not commit suicide , due to Taqwa and fear of

If you feel like committing suicide please reflect on yourself are you as a Muslim praying 5 times a day, are you refraining yourself from sin and doing good deeds are you socially interacting with people positively. Is your behaviour good. Understand my brother/sister a Muslim who can't manage the stress of life and want to commit suicide there is something missing in there life spiritually they are not properly doing Salah, are you in a rush etc understand if you indulge yourself in sin despite having stress or not Allah will make your life depressing

Even if you done Salah, prayer etc but you still have mental problems you didn't do your salah properly meaning when ghusl is obliged to you you just done wudu, then prayed your wudu and Salah will not be accepted or when you pray your intention is clearly for worldly purpose you rush but you are not praying sincerely, or you do salah just to show the people all those factors if continue that salah wouldn't give you any spiritual improvement you will still have problems

i had a child with the wrong women, my entire life i’ve been a wrongdoer may Allah grant me forgiveness. she left me and i’ve been separated from my son since birth and have been granted from the court 1 day every other week, 3 hour visits. i’ve tried to get more time and the courts tell me i have to wait to proof my “consistency”..? my son is 10 months old now. his mother is an addict and a wrongdoer that doesn’t believe in god, she neglects her son and give him to her mother to raise while she continues to feed her bad habits and addiction. he looks at me as a stranger at times. i’m not trying to rant but this pain is unbearable, seeing my son is causing much more damage to my mental then good. i can’t even share my true thoughts about this situation because it makes me feel ashamed. i don’t want to live in a world where i am not allowed to raise my son. i don’t want to be around for him to be raise by another man. i’ve tried to change my entire life. cut off everything toxic from my old lifestyle. stripped myself from all the wrongdoings and false pleasures i use to partake in. found faith in god, our great creator Allah. Astaghfirullah may Allah please great me forgiveness. i’m not sure i’ll be able to overcome this battle. i feel as if i lack control over my son, my circumstances, and my mind. i don’t want to feel this pain anymore

I don’t have much knowledge about this topic, but I would strongly recommend these three things:
.Make sure to pray 5 times a day
This is because remembering Allah and coming closer to Him really helps with emotional distress and constantly remembering Him will make it hard for someone to disobey Him through self harm or suicide.
      . After every prayer:
      -read ayatul kursi
      -say subhanallah 10x
      -say Alhamdullilah 10x
      -say Allahu Akbar 10x
I suggested doing these things after prayer because holding onto the hope that the afterlife will be better could help your suffering; so basically, work hard so that your next life will be better.
Abu Umamah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever recites the ‘verse of the Throne’ after every prescribed prayer, there will be nothing standing between him and entry into Paradise but his death.”
      Source: al-Mu’jam al-Awsaṭ lil-Ṭabarānī 8068
Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Albani
Abd-Allah ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: There are two qualities, no Muslim man acquires them but he will enter Paradise, and they are simple and easy. He should glorify Allah (say Subhan Allah) ten times immediately after each prayer, and praise Him (say Al-hamdu Lillah) ten times and magnify Him (say Allahu akbar) ten times. I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) counting this on his fingers. He said: That makes one hundred and fifty on the tongue, and one thousand five hundred (hasanat) in the scales.
.Lastly, don’t give up looking for a cure to your mental illness; it could be medication or therapy
Abu Darda reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, Allah sent down the disease and the cure, and for every disease He made a cure. Seek treatment, but do not seek treatment by the unlawful.”
      Source: Sunan Abī Dāwūd 3874
Grade: Sahih li ghayrihi (authentic due to external evidence) according to Al-Arna’ut
(Also please remember to wish peace and blessings on our Prophet (sallAllahu alayhi wasalam) everytime he is mentioned, because of this hadith:
Ali ibn Abi Talib reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The miser is one in whose presence I am mentioned, but he does not send blessings upon me.”
      Source: Sunan al-Tirmidhī 3546
Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Tirmidhi

I’m so sorry to hear that my brother/sister. Your feelings and problems are real, so don’t ever think that you’re weak. The world is a cold and harsh place, but Allah, The Most Wise, created it and us for a reason. Trust Him, trust His reason for creating us (even though you may not fully understand it). If you stay on the right path and enter Jannah and taste the absolute happiness and end of suffering, you would feel like everything you went through and being born into this world was absolutely worth it; this suffering we go through here is not pointless-it’s almost like a cutscene for a person’s entrance into Jannah.
Truly, all we can do is remain patient and trust that everything is in Allah’s hands and stay on the deen to enter Jannah.
Also, I’m glad you were born into this world. The fact that I, a random stranger, saw your comment and thought to reply means that you’re not worthless; you’re someone worth caring for.

I’ve had a question I’ve always deeply wondered about. Why is art and all its different modes of expression considered “bad” or “taboo”? I don’t understand this as it seems to be an intrinsically human activity. It’s how one expresses when they don’t have the words or education to articulate what they are trying to say or how they feel. I view it as another language, one that is very nuanced. I don’t understand why it’s viewed with such staunch negativity in Islam… ?

Maybe because in Islam is more important Akhirah (afterlife) as it’s eternal than Dunia that is temporal. This Temporal life is a test for the Akhirah.

We need to be thinking about death all the time, can happen anytime and worry about our akhirah. Our everlasting life. Not make merry, jolly and don't give a damn about akhirah
