Actually if Roy wanted, since his transmution circle still works on the rain, he could just suffocate his opponents by manipulating oxygen. I don't know why he never used this ability, it would have been very useful against Scar.

I believe it's that one hand uses large areas of flames and the other hand is straight up precise shots. Does very well to explain just why Roy can do some very impressive shots like the one he literally destroys a large group without ever touching his own allies to straight up blowing up eyes and mouths. ...Considering his Alchemy teacher was Riza's father, it's not too far fetched where he got the absurd marksmanship for freaking flames.

I like to think Mustang's alchemy was the most suited to fight off Homunculi. Very fast, accurate and powerful, depletes Homunculi's lives very quickly.

Enraged Gluttony is invulnerable, probably, since he can absorb any threat, but that's not a state he reaches naturally unlike Envy's dinoform. And about Pride, I dunno, I'm pretty sure the light from Mustang's flames can extinguish his shadows before they can reach Roy.

There's something really funny about his basic character. He's a person whose whole deal is being so horrifically powerful that it convinced him that he and the rest of the army need to be prosecuted as war criminals and the only way to do it is by becoming its leader, but the main joke about him is how he's useless. He's a supposed womanizer whose only female companionship ever displayed in the series is a lifelong bond with a person he's known since before he hit puberty and who's never more than a few feet away from him if either of them can help it. He's an extremely serious person defined by the horrors of war and never calls his closest companion anything but her job title, except when his whole thing is being wacky. That duality is neat.

Also he straight up tells us what his greatest wish was to explore the world bound by no one or anything to do so he chose to rise above even god to truly have no limits as from where he came according to truth in their last conversation father came from the gate of truth so my guess is that he is a direct piece of truth hence his immense knowledge
This fire alchemy of his was always scarier to me than anything relating to the Philosopher Stones. Imagine having to face an army of alchemists that can do this.

yeah the snap and boom are more the literal fiery explosion, the gloves act as both transmutation circle and spark source for flame alchemy the gloves themselves likely would be hard to snap in due to the friction properties of the ignition cloth
It's definitely not related to how hard he is snapping. But his knowledge of Alchemy (that pentagram stuff), and the knowledge/physics of elements he wants to manipulate. So technically if he learns about Nuclear Fusion and Fission, he should be able to create nuclear explosions just from his snap.
The snap from Roy's gloves creates spark from the friction and further amplified by Alchemy (Oxygen and transmutated Fuel in the air) it's not from how loud the snap is.
it added such an interesting element to the fight, with riza and others literally needing to be his eyes. he was still able to fight which was satisfying but he didn’t do it all by himself which was also satisfying :^) plus there’s just a lot of dramatic irony in him losing his sight when he was so set on seeing the future of amestris, and being forced to perform human transmutation added yet Another layer of grotesquery to the meta. arakawa really thought of everything huh

That's the thing with Roy. He's basically the show's main critique of the military industrial complex. They created such a devastating weapon out of Roy and had him kill god knows how many innocents.
Three weaknesses Water Damage to the muscles of the hands (snapping is a complex movement) Running out of oxygen in an enclosed space. Also really confused why flame alchemy isn’t blue. The method of operation is forcing oxygen atoms into a line then igniting them with a spark. In reality this would produce a flash of perfect combustion which is a blue flame.
yeah Roy just kind of creates explosions and flame via creating pockets of flammable if not explosive gas mixture and igniting it with the spark from his gloves
He doesn't just snaps. Snaps means he's using finesse and precision. When he can just simply rub the two pyrotex/ignition gloves (loaded with flint or combustible material) to create an ignition point and simply direct oxygen (and some hydrogen) atoms to give path to the flames.
I know it's an unpopular opinion but I love the sub also. Especially Roy's voice . English one is more manly but the Japanese one has a boyish charm to it and sounds younger

I feel like the voices fit a little better with their characters and ironically the lip-sync is much better in that version, without forgetting that sometimes a little more emotion is put into the acting in some parts (which Japanese dub also does greatly too, but it even feels more natural in English). Overall I consider the English dub to be more iconic and memorable, but maybe that's just me and if you prefer Japanese dub it's alright cuz it's also great.

Also really confused why flame alchemy isn’t blue. The method of operation is forcing oxygen atoms into a line then igniting them with a spark. In reality this would produce a flash of perfect combustion which is a blue flame.

yeah Roy just kind of creates explosions and flame via creating pockets of flammable if not explosive gas mixture and igniting it with the spark from his gloves
He doesn't just snaps. Snaps means he's using finesse and precision. When he can just simply rub the two pyrotex/ignition gloves (loaded with flint or combustible material) to create an ignition point and simply direct oxygen (and some hydrogen) atoms to give path to the flames.
The real talent is how he can snap his fingers in gloves 😂

I know it's an unpopular opinion but I love the sub also. Especially Roy's voice . English one is more manly but the Japanese one has a boyish charm to it and sounds younger

元々攻撃力ぶっ飛んでる癖に最終回後は手パン錬成もできるようになったから機動力、防御力も上がってるの強すぎる。
なんなら雨降って焔の錬金術は使えなくてもエドみたいに武器錬成して格闘術もできるわけだし

Someone had draw a very good series of webcomics called '' Ask Kimbley '' or something like that where he answered fans questions like Kimbley would (very in character, very funny to read). One of the questions where '' who would win a fight between you (Kimbley) and Mustang ''. And the answer was approximately '' him obviously, he is way faster than me, I have to clap hands then applied it on something, he just snap his fingers ''. I loved it XD

鋼の錬金術師FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST自体が2009年頃に制作されたものなんですが、同時の他のアニメと比べたら群を抜いて綺麗なんですよね。今は鬼滅の刃など、アニメ自体がすごくでかいコンテンツとして制作会社などが注目され始めている中、10数年前の作品で、深夜枠の12話から成るものではなくて夕方に約1年間かけて放送されたものを、それだけ長い期間アニメの作画が今期のアニメとなんの遜色もないクオリティを保ち続けたこと自体が昔の基準だけでなく、今の基準で考えてもやはりすごいことだと思います。

@@gdmikester4302 I have and it is really good, but I prefer the English dub. I feel like the voices fit a little better with their characters and ironically the lip-sync is much better in that version, without forgetting that sometimes a little more emotion is put into the acting in some parts (which Japanese dub also does greatly too, but it even feels more natural in English). Overall I consider the English dub to be more iconic and memorable, but maybe that's just me and if you prefer Japanese dub it's alright cuz it's also great.

あくまで酸素の経路を作って着火布で一気に起爆してるんだよね
炎って元素はないから確かに...あの手袋が摩擦が起こりやすいやつで摩擦で起こった火花で着火してるんじゃなかったでしたっけ？

そこら編、爆発物やニトロソ化合物なんかの物を状況に応じて錬成できる超高度な錬成陣だと思ってた
@@bondrdondord まじでちゃんとした設定言っていいのであれば空気中の水分を分解して水素と酸素にする錬成陣って設定。
真面目に考え出すと湿気っていても着火布乾かせる気もするけど、そこはSFだからな〜とは思う笑
@まきば乳牛 前半の錬成陣に関しては理解分解再構築の理解がきっかけで起動するのでそれは少し違うかと思いましたが、後半の酸素の通り道が濡らされるってのは凄く納得が行きました。なるほど、言われてみれば確かに笑
