Hugh and Demelza’s were true love - both the type to fall in love deeply, and put the other 1st versus Ross’ selfish instincts. Beautiful but tragic arc for each to know perfect love even if a brief time
A beautiful connection between two beautiful souls. Hugh's love for her was so pure and she hasn't had that with Ross because of his love for Elizabeth. She'll always feel she's not his first choice even as time goes by and he does truly fall in love with her. That feeling of being second best will never go away.

And she really didn't "look" anywhere else, rather Hugh looked to her and came after her. He got her attention for a short time. And the fact that he died probably helped keep that connection rather short. Though Demelza made it very clear to him that they could never have another dalliance again. But I do have to admit, Ross deserved it. After what he did with Elizabeth, rather selfish self-centered and then he had the pompous a$$ attitude of "what can I say? You must understand." Right, Demelza must understand. So her "I am not content to be second best" was well justified. And he had to get his nose down from it being up so high cause it was about to rain into it heavily. His arrogant prick night with Elizabeth did not say much for him. But then the fact that he did not even want to acknowledge it muchly until Demelza forced him to, THAT even said less for him.
So what? Experience and people make us all grow up, does it mean we can’t meet and love anyone else and the other way round because people weren’t here at the beginning? That is so stupid.
I agree. None of those men who persude Demekza would've looked at her in that dog fight. It was Ross raising her up and she becomes a lady that made the others desire her.

I like the video because it points out Demelza went from content wife to cheater in 2 episodes. I understand what Hugh got out of it, but what exactly did Demelza get but heartache? Mostly it came off that she was flattered and attracted to him but Ross neglect pushed her to it. He basically told her to find her another man that would be for her what he wouldn’t be.
