Bought my first Cartier love bracelet about 25 years ago along with a Cartier watch. Still wear them every day. I got my husband a Tiffany watch that he has worn ever day for 20 years. We used Cartier love rings as our wedding bands in 1989. Buy what you love and it will always be in (your) style.

I think the Cartier Love Bracelet is another luxury item that benefited from the Kardashians influence. They talked about it early on in their show and the popularity has been soaring ever since.

I got the Cartier Trinity ring for my graduation and it is truly the best piece of jewelry you can buy. Because it has white gold, red gold and rose gold it matches every piece of precious metal jewelry and it also brings the whole thing together if you want to mix metals.
Your jewelry content is honestly my favourite, you should do more! Maybe one just on watches or one just on large diamonds/solitaires!
Cartier is actually a respected watch brand. They've been making watches for around 100 years. Their Tank and Santos watches are classic designs. They're not as prestigious as Patek or Rolex but Cartier's watches are far above those from Chanel and Hermes.
Exactly right. The Tank Watch has been around since Louis Cartier designed it for WWI soldiers.

Santos was the first pilots watch and the tank is seminal in watch enthusiast/collectors circles. Rolex isn’t luxury- they are premium at best and all hype nowadays. You want a luxury watch brand, look at Vacheron Constantin, a Lange songe, fp journe, JLC…

Well todays price off 24k is euro 54 per gram. So a bracelet weighs lets say 35 grams, so EUR 1890. 18k is 75% so eur 1470 material costs. You pay most for the brands name.

As someone who studied and made jewelry in college… I just can’t bring myself to spend more than $30 on a costume jewelry piece. If I’m paying triple digits it’s gold and handcrafted but to each their own 🤷🏻♀️

Only ever buy items made of precious metals, tat wears out no matter what you buy or how much you love it, at least precious metals will always retain the value of the metal!

I never understand women who will spend thousands on a handbag and then wear cheap, costume jewelry. Real stones, real gold ,platinum or nothing.Not a Rolex fan. Too clunky. A truly elegant thin watch like Piaget or Vacheron-Constantine is so much better.

The problem is that when you try to sale the piece ,that lets say doubled in price , frist you can't list it on resale website for the RRP as nobody would ever consider buying it. Secondly, the trustworthy resale websites take at least 20% cut... So you are lucky if you manage to recover 50% of current RRP. I think that it is only possible to treat jewelry or watch purchase as investment, if you buy it at an amazing discount, staf sale/ second hand ect. Unless the piece increases in price multiple times ... And remains in fashion. Just my experience x

Because of the materials shortage, Rolex definitely is the best investment from all the options here if you bought in a few years ago. However, investing in Rolex as an asset is very volatile unless resources and import/exports continue to be strained.
Teens want Cartier, VC, Chanel etc 👀 What does luxury even mean today. I'm more into quality than brands. I hope my future children will understand this.

The Cartier L.O.V.E bracelet has not been around only from the last decade. It was introduced in the 70'ies and mine is from that era. And you didn't by a L.O.V.E bracelet in gold and silver, because the latter doesn't exist, but the white gold does. Big difference, hence the price probably.
When I bought my Rolex gold Pearlmaster with diamonds on the pearl face and the bezel, I actually wanted the gold Cartier Panthėre watch. I was advised not to, as you say Cartier is a jewelry brand and not a watch maker. These days when the Panthère watch is back in the picture I must admit that I regret my Rolex purchase. The Cartier watches are so much prettier.

Yessss I also noticed that the bvlgari serpenti pieces (especially the bracelet) are getting pretty popular on instagram. I am looking into the serpenti bracelet at the moment. It’s stunning, but I hope it doesn’t become tooooo popular because it still being a bit under the radar/not so popular makes it feel extra special for me 😊🙈

Mind you the price point of them will limit every second person from having it. It’s stunning... it was between the clover and serpenti (very solid love for both)

It’s just that social media (youtube and instagram) sometimes gives a distorted reality where it seems everyone has the same items whereas in real life that is indeed not the case. I am also a big VCA lover myself, especially the frivole line. Even though VCA may seem “common” on social media nowadays like mentioned in this video (just like other popular brands like Chanel, Cartier and even Hermes) there is a reason why these beautiful, classic items are so popular (timeless classics) and I always say in the end I buy my things for myself to enjoy the beauty of them ✨🌸

Cartier literally started watches one year after starting jewelry in 1847. So for me, Cartier is a watch brand as much as it is a jewelry brand.

I got a real 14kt dupe Cartier love bangle ages ago in NYC.
I got a Cartier gold Panther watch and wore it almost daily I then got a new watch Cartier also but in pink gold 18 yrs later and guess what Cartier re launched the Panther again a couple of yrs ago. At your age people do like s status dressing, as did I but in a few years you won’t want to have LV or GG written on your clothing or you shoes you’ll get much more satisfaction knowing what the labels in the back of your clothing says....trust me

Such a cool video, I have pieces from different price points, sentimental pieces my daughters gave me, my Mama's jewelry, button earrings, necklaces, rings....she enjoyed estate sales and unique pieces from flea markets and the pieces my Dad gave her. My grandfather gave her a ring on her 18th Birthday, I wear it all the time and my Dad's class ring is so special to my heart. I'm loving the gold pieces that are so hot right now, have always been more of a gold girl but do enjoy mixing metals. Thank you, I enjoyed this so much!!!

You can always buy high fashion pieces in sterling silver, gold filled and even karat gold that are probably less expensive than designer fashion pieces. I agree with spending on some designer clothing items because let’s face it....nothing is like the pieces made by a designer....the cuts, the curves, the fabric ...oh my god...but not jewellery that is nothing more than fake silver or gold tone with fake stones and plastic beads There are many super artisans out there that deserve to creep into a high fashion designer wardrobes. Pieces that also are made from inexpensive metals and stones that sell for hundreds less. However, you can find fantastic artistic pieces made of long lasting real gold and real silver with real stones that provably run less or equal to the deaigners fake stuff. Why would anyone want to invest like that? Great simple t's and jeans also can also be found cheaply from great retailers such as zara that rival any designer. I am going to throw in great bags that are not designer...well made bags from unknown makers very detailed and fashionable and classic for hundreds less. I mean if you have the money I get it...but I do not see any value in the designer jewelry that is made of crappy inexpensive material.

the gold value of the carrier bracelets is about 15% of the cost and they mark their diamonds up wayyyyy to much imo

Great video! However, I disagree with your opinion that Cartier is not a watchmaker. They have a long and glorious history of making iconic timepieces such as the Tank (famously worn by Jackie O), the Santos and the Roadster. As a watch collector, I can say that we appreciate these watches. I plan on owning a Santos at some point. It's worth mentioning Louis Cartier was a trained watchmaker.
I have 2 pairs of Vintage Chanel earrings because they are gold plated. They were cheap ($100 on ebay). I will never buy costume jewelry again. I prefer unique real gold / silver than branded items.

I actually thought the Tiffany Elsa Peretti bone cuff is more popular than the T line. It celebrated its 50th last year and made a splash in Wonder Woman etc and is all over Instagram. But it is more popular as a silver cuff as opposed to gold.

These influences, I feel, have really made the classic Van Cleef Alhambra LOOK CHEAP,, not that is was ever meant to be expensive......it is an entry piece. they all buy the same one and least expensive....Van Cleef makes pieces that are far more beautiful and really expensive, but these girls have to own Van Cleef, Bulgari, etc. but they all buy the same piece and, again TBE least expensive. By the way, Tiffany also makes a really big T bracelet in a cuff and ,so a wrap around, it sells for $7”00”. They also now have The Hardware collection, with their necklace selling for $17:000 and that collection is gorgeous.............by the way, HOW CAN YOU FORGET GRAFF......OR ASPREY JEWERS........as far as watches.....you don’t mention PATEK PHILLIPE........VACHERON CONSTANTIN........really many more. Jewelry really is a piece of art.....looking a piece that is designed and mage with such passion is a joy........I guess that’s another reason I don’t understand a lot of influencers who buy Birkins but buy inexpensive jewelry. I love your houndstooth coat-super cute. I collect vintage costume jewelry & really enjoyed this video. Givenchy, Chanel & Christian Dior vintage jewelry are my current favorites. I bought (and wear) a vintage 1970’s/80’s Givenchy choker necklace; it’s still beautiful, classic looking & a conversation piece.
Right now gold is almost 2 grand an ounce the Jewlery and when you go to sell it you won’t get what you paid for it

You might want to reevaluate Cartier about being a watch company. Cartier is very highly regarded in the watch community. They’re one of the 10 best brands known for horology.

Amazing video as usual , one comment only, I don’t think these jewelry hold the resell value in the preloved market ( Cartier , Tiffany ) , unluckily if you buy today and sell after couple of years definitely you will lose money regardless the price increase . I love all these brands and have many pieces but I highly advise to buy the piece that you are certain that you will never sell
I don't see all the hype about investing in luxury pieces especially jewelry. The prices almost don't go up. I bought a Trinity ring for 1300€ 3 years ago and I think it is still the same price. As for the Love bracelet, even if it goes up 500 or 1000 euros, you will make very little money or no money if you sell it. Or you will have to wait a long time in order to make money off of it....
I have so many questions after this video.
First of all, how did you manage to buy those Cartier bracelets in 2009 at the times of the worst economic crisis 🙄 bought three bracelets one at a time smh and paid a couple of thousand for each, even tho they all are different? Like two of them it looks like have diamonds and the other one doesn’t there’s no way they all cost the same amount. And when talking about value, we don’t count the inflation do we? Like yeah you might sell those bracelets for the same amount and even a bit more but in terms of value of money you can get it’s not the same as back in 2009.
