wow thankyou for a great vlog and the jacket your wearing is amazing... need to look for a new jacket for the mountains ... ty for your great vlog xxxxx
Great Review Abbie - good to see someone of your experience giving us your thoughts on RR. I’ve done a few reviews on their kit now on my channel; really like their kit. Have found some issues with loose stitching on some of the early trousers I bought; but more recently they’ve upped their game. Supporter of the brand and really like what they do. Now then you’ve got me thinking about my next jacket 👍. ATB Mark.
Great video mate! I’ve had one of these for 3 years just ordered 2 more - best jacket imo. Thanks for the great videos - keep it up and see you on the trails!
Oh wow, I'd never heard of Recco before. I'm familiar with radio & phone tracking collars for dogs, so I'm very receptive to this. Great to hear you nailing the waterproof myth 💯 After a miserable experience with my first outdoors jacket, a Berghus Paclite Trek, I went completely the other way and only choose high breathability fabrics. It's about time that companies were banned from using the word unless its permanently 100% waterproof without reproofing. Really appreciate the independent review amidst all the affiliate marketing on YT - perhaps say it at the start and in the title ?
The best waterproof I have ever had is a Ridgeline! Also always looking for another but I have yet to find one that even comes close 😢 great review Abbie! Lots to think about :) you need to do waterproof trousers next! :D
Nice review (as always) and I appreciate that you show all the features. Can you give some info on why the jacket is bigger than you expected. Is the sizing table on their site incorrect? When buying should we select a size smaller than the table suggests?
Same here I ordered a large as some folks said they are a big boxy fit as I'm a large in an Arc'teryx gamma lt hoody so hopefully it fits. I did send revolution race a message but no answer and a lot of people say the customer service isn't very good to be honest which isn't a good sign in my book but hopefully the jacket lives up to the reviews.
Just received my jacket in size large and had a base layer and a fleece underneath no problem giving a nice fitted look, so propper U.K. sizes by the look of it which is good. If I had changed it for an XL the arms would of been too long as the arms are a bit longer than usual just like an Arc'teryx gamma lt hoody for scrambling and climbing etc, but a lot of Nordic coat brands are always a little longer in the arms especially if it's hiking climbing bushcrafting gear etc.
Its not waterproof and I wouldn't recommend it. I was stupid enough to buy one of these. RR are a bit like Redbull, a lot of marketing behind a sub standard product. They promote their products by getting endorsements. Please stay away from their products. Please
@@BigJohnIsATopShagr Their customer service was shocking. They insisted that they sent me some DWR to put on the coat when I wanted my money back. It had already failed on Scafell inJanuary. I certainly wasn’t going to let their product nearly kill me again so I bought a keela Munro. Same(ish) weight, price etc. The Munro is truly an epic jacket. Genuine mountain coat and I can understand why specialist police, military and mountain rescue wear them.
@@superseacrow9463 Never heard about Munro before you mentioned it here, they have some nice jackets, thanks for the tip. I am so far really happy with my Cyclon Rescue jacket, but I bought it as autumn/winter jacket to the city and occasional wood hikes. I like it so far. My problem is, most of the pro graded/military stuff does not fit me, always feels baggy and uncomfortable. This one fits perfect and nothing gets in the way.
Mmmm to me they haven't got things quite right yet in design and materials. It's like they are trying to make camping hiking gear fashionable rather than practical. 😂🏕️
I think this jacket is a crossover in that it can adapt to urban environments also and not look to out of place to which I think is not a bad thing and for the price their pretty decent too.
Great review Abbie. Looks like a really well thought out jacket and great quality.
Brilliant review. Thanks very much 😊

I think Revolution Race is giving away items in return for positive reviews.
Would this be ok for my Mrs on the Laugervegur trail. We are on a budget. Thanks
Hey Abbie - great review. Would you mind sharing the size you were using in the video, and your height? :) Thanks again
I'm 5ft 7 and the size was a small :)

Thanks for that but you didn’t really say how it performed in wet or windy conditions?
It's a solid jacket! I was recently on mont blanc and one lass wore it to the summit - windy and cold! With layers underneath of course :)

You have sold it out to me dear Abbie 😊
Fab review
i got one of these and i can honestly say it is not waterproof
Are you Scottish?
👍😎🤗

I don’t understand why when it is advertised as being 4/5 water resistant. Are you just going to return it?

Other brands cost twice as much! RR is really good value for money. You can buy two jackets in different colours.
@@WinkelHoofVery true, just need to give it a good test in cold wet conditions 👍🏻
