One time the Skyrim cart tipped forward and crushed all the prisoners underneath. And I just sat there for a minute thinking "did that really just happen?"
I really gotta thank you guys for making this video, cause I have been wondering for YEARS why SoulCalibur 3's save file kept crashing after a certain period. Thank you so much and queue the 84 years meme
oh, one more old story came to mind: someone working at a big business found out that some employees had been playing one of the "command and conquer" games on company computers. so, she tried to delete it, and accidentally deleted an essential Windows file called "command.(something)" from EVERY computer in the building, making every computer in the company unuseable!
I did something similar on my own computer last week. Went into properties and told something to stop doing that. Next thing i know the game keeps telling me no. Took me like 30 mins to remember what i did. But its what i love and hate about pc’s . Game or software error. Change an ini file. Do one baby thing wrong and it breaks everything
i never played oblivion but that don't give the baker bread thing absolutely killed me i was rolling when he said the line "he is programmed not to seek out bread"
I remember when RPG Maker released on the original Playstation. I had 70 hours into a game creation. Then, I saved my work on story on wrong file, overwriting large swathes of world data, rendering everything useless. I've never tried again since. The Aliens one still cracks me up. A simple spelling error that no one caught. And so easily fixed.
A bee explains why cart rides feel like cut content. I guess they couldn't stop random encounters from spawning either. I would love a full cart ride between cities hearing stories from the cart drivers. They have unique dialouge that gets cut off due to loading screens.
Two more 'fun' ones: DotA 2 had an issue where shop item icons would be glued to your screen. At some point it cluttered so much of the screen you could not see what was happening and was also not able to click anything behind the icon. The developers (Valve) tried to fix it numerous times, sometimes successfully, only for it to get back into the game in a later patch. The patch notes of 2016 mentioned it a 'rare bug' but it was not all that rare at all. Torchlight III has an issue where if you have a steam name using cyrillic characters, you are locked out of all ingame chat features. The game does not support cyrillic characters. The developers never acknowledged the bug and the game has unfortunately been abandoned so a fix will never happen.
The VERY FIRST TIME I played Skyrim, the cart crashed right after the opening spiel, and then nothing happened. I was stuck in the back of a wagon with this guy just staring at me while the background sounds played on a loop. After many minutes of thinking this was th slowest opening on video game history, I restarted the Xbox and it worked fine.
Also I am surprised you missed the uninstaller bug in Myth II: Soulblighter. If you installed it anywhere other than the default location, it would wipe the entire hard drive when you uninstalled it. Bungie had to recall the game and release new fixed copies. The process was so expensive it nearly bankrupted them, forced them to sell off the Myth and Oni IPs to stay afloat, and directly lead to their purchase by Microsoft and transplanting the team from Chicago to Seattle.
Just looked it up. The issue was recursive deletion. Normally that would solely delete your data/install folders of the game. But because the devs intended to be helpful and delete added mods and such too, but for 2 failed to add a certain sanity check, a glaring flaw could be disastrous. Issue is I guess they used a referential which wasn't locked down. They probably added an type of delete:folderx+topx, but didn't use a sanity of if.not:topx= check.
I think it's quite possible the bread crash would still occur. According to the Unofficial Oblivion Patch's changelog, the crash occurs because with bread in his inventory, his AI package attempts to use an unimplemented bread delivery function (so perhaps he was intended to deliver bread to the inn as immersion?)
μ is also the proper abbreviation for micro as in μg for micrograms. Alas, it's usually abbreviated as mcg to avoid the Greek letter. I remember using it when studying electronics. Capacitance in capacitors is often measured in microfarads (μF) & picofarads (pF).
The cart launch was still a thing a couple of years ago when I tried playing it on VR. It didn't matter how many times I tried; I ended up against a tree, spinning in circles.
@gameranx the Skyrim bee is even more interesting because in the book, “this book is full of spiders” by David Wong, the same thing happens to the protagonist, after he takes the drug that is in the book’s universe. Only differences, it’s a moth, and it doesn’t send the character flying in the air, but it is definitely immovable.
I had that issue with the cart in Skyrim because a mod messed with Helgen, so I guess the bug got reinstated by the mod. The mod page even says don't install until after Helgen
The Coconut JPG in TF2 is another hilarious one. One that doesn't/didn't break the game for players, but the devs deleted a Coconut JPG from their files that wasn't being used and then found they couldn't run the game.
Morrowind had a glitch where if you went to this estate later in the game it would start lagging and eventually crash. Apparently the issue was tied to the local map. In the game of the year edition the lagging didn’t happen anymore, and if you brought up the local map when you were in the area it was just a blue screen.
Brutal Legend on PS3 also has some kind of bug that corrupts your save file. Had this when I was with 98% completion in the story mode, then opened the multiplayer to play with a friend (as its multiplayer became a ghost town soon after release). Once I tried to return to the story mode I had to restart it all again because of data corruption.
I have to wonder if the WWE 2k20 issue was related to Flash. We had a similar stupid fix at work where a training program ran in Flash. We in IT kept telling the department "the training is going to stop working on X day", the training was not replaced, that day came, and we got a call from the department to fix it. A Google search brought up the "fix" of manually setting the system clock to before that day and turning off automatic clock changes, so we did that and it worked. Luckily, eventually they replaced the training. I think.
1:52 "You can tell we don't use AI to write these things..." And you cannot believe how absolutely happy I am about that. Please do not ever change that.
I once broke my copy of Final Fantasy VIII I'd forget to put it back in the case and misplaced it by the time found it again the dust had formed a film that made it impossible to read 😢
A honorable mention to Crusader Kings three, which allegedly once had an issue that the Greek rulers would use up way to much processing power to constantly think about whom they would want to castrate. It didn't cause a crash outright, but it could very well significantly contribute to one. Background: The Greek (and possibly other cultures who introduce the court Eunuch tradition) have an option to castrate prisoners instead of executing them, which would make them unable to inherit or claim titles by that culture's tradition and make them eligible for the court Eunuch position. An error in the code caused that the many Greek NPC rulers would update whether they would want to castrate characters or not based on their relationship constantly not only on character they actually had imprisoned or had the option to arrest, but on every single male character in the game.
Could have added a honorable mention for the Aquatica "Birthday" DLC for ARK Survival Evolved that broke a lot of mods and corrupted many people's solo save files for worlds they had spent hundreds of hours on.
Funnily, I did, once, got the Skyrim intro cart flying into the air, with Ralof just continuing his speech as if nothing went wrong. Didn't know what triggered it and it never happened again, so I guess we got hit by a rogue unfixed bee that one time.
I remember early on with Skyrim, that in the opening introduction, everything was fine _unless I looked straight down_ . So even after this bee fix, the cart had physics bugs at launch. 10/10 experience overall, of course, per Bethesda.
Speaking of NIS, there is still game crashing bugs in Disgaea 7 if your unlucky, which is made more annoying when you find out they fixed it for the console version over a year ago now, but for some reason won't release the update for the PC, so f us I guess :L :L
The Aliens: CM one stings even more because while all the PC version needs is to fix the typo, the console ver needs an actual patch to work which to this day still hasn't happened afaik.
Damn, didn't think I'd see an Ar Tonelico mention in 2026. (said like Arrrr, like a pirate, and toh-nel-i-ko) One of my fav game series since early 2000s
I have seen the Bee issue before, or similar, ..It technically can happen sometimes with mods or..vanilla, ...because ...Just, ..the -rare times- they ....would fly into the way.....still can happen with the right/wrong combination of things.
The famous gandhi Civ I bug has been mentioned, but less known (and less game breaking) was a bug in Civ VI where the word yield was spelled as "yeild" in 5 lines of code that completely changed how the ai was supposed to act
Soul Calibur 6 still has the same save file glitch. This time if someone rage quits in a ranked game, the game crashes and your save files get corrupted. Some cheaters just get into ranked do nothing or rage quit and you loose all your files. It's still not fixed till this day.
I had a teacher who worked on aliens' colonial marines and we were talking about the game and he said the guy in charge of writing the code was super egotistical and would never make a simple mistake like that so he found it very funnt
this reminds me of a video by "dougdoug", where he add a strange Mod to Skyrim that would make ten monsters spawn, if he SAID the name of the monster. since he was also reading Twitch Chat messages aloud, they kept spawning during the intro, and messing up the cart, forcing him to restart. "do you still allow swearing in chat, or have you banned it?" *Spawning Bandits* i also remember an article in an old gaming magazine, where someone working on a Baseball Simulator game made a typo, putting a "-" where there should have been a "+". this caused the Curveball subroutine to work BACKWARDS, so that if you tried to make the ball curve to the left, it would curve to the right!
One time the Skyrim cart tipped forward and crushed all the prisoners underneath. And I just sat there for a minute thinking "did that really just happen?"
LOL
rookie mistake with not running fnis
Hey you you're finally AGHHgh.
I had one where the horses kept clipping into the ground as it tried to get down the hill lmao
I always found myself fascinated that the guy who tries escaping during the intro always falls differently when he gets shot with arrows.
I'm gonna start saying "Don't give the baker bread" irl as if it's some well known idiom and then act astonished when people don't understand it.
Oh hell yeah I need to do this too😂
...I literally work in a bakery.
This could be hilarious.
Way to delete the boot.ini, my dude!
Also I love that you used the word idiom
'well you know what they say, don't give the baker bread' actually works as an idiom, can be interpreted in multiple ways
I really gotta thank you guys for making this video, cause I have been wondering for YEARS why SoulCalibur 3's save file kept crashing after a certain period. Thank you so much and queue the 84 years meme
My friend Gary is the dumbest thing that broke my copy of Twisted Metal Black back in 2002. Sat on it and snapped the disc right in half
Oh no! Oof that's rough.
copy - chipped PS2 then lol
Was he from Vault 108?
Haha, Gary!
Of course; he's named Gary.
that series was so great back when.
Anytime Aliens: Colonial Marines is brought up, I will always mention how Randy Pitchford blamed the fans for the game's poor reception.
he was right!!! eveyone knows players have to check all gamefiles for coding errors before starting a game!!!!!!
Is there anything Randy doesn't blame on the fans? I think he grumbles about them when he stubs his toe or cuts himself shaving.
@samuelvimes5770Especially those on console
My thoughts on Randy, is already summed up best, by Civvie11.
I've heard it's a premium game for premium gamers!
12:28 "ambitiously incompetent" is my new favorite phrase. 🤣🤣🤣
Memory leak bug in New Vegas that still needs a fan patch to fix..
oh, one more old story came to mind:
someone working at a big business found out that some employees had been playing one of the "command and conquer" games on company computers.

There is a mod for that. Quite relaxing. But can be tedious after a bit
Falcon, please bring devs on to the show so you can lecture them about these kind of things. I’d pay for that
😅
Amazon's New World's title screen didn't have a capped framerate which caused certain GPUs to go nuclear
I remember that. I was lucky it didn't affect my GPU.
Two more 'fun' ones:
DotA 2 had an issue where shop item icons would be glued to your screen. At some point it cluttered so much of the screen you could not see what was happening and was also not able to click anything behind the icon. Banning Cyrillic users from chat might have been a feature
Purkypile has now become Falcons mortal enemy for life...
I am 99% positive this guy came up in at least one other older video, if someone can back me up
The VERY FIRST TIME I played Skyrim, the cart crashed right after the opening spiel, and then nothing happened. I was stuck in the back of a wagon with this guy just staring at me while the background sounds played on a loop. After many minutes of thinking this was th slowest opening on video game history, I restarted the Xbox and it worked fine.
LOL yeah wild to think this was how some players first experienced Skyrim
Also I am surprised you missed the uninstaller bug in Myth II: Soulblighter. If you installed it anywhere other than the default location, it would wipe the entire hard drive when you uninstalled it. Bungie had to recall the game and release new fixed copies. The process was so expensive it nearly bankrupted them, forced them to sell off the Myth and Oni IPs to stay afloat, and directly lead to their purchase by Microsoft and transplanting the team from Chicago to Seattle.
Thanks for shouting this out. We might be back for a part 2
@gameranxTV and you thought EVE's boot.ini was bad
Just looked it up. The issue was recursive deletion. Normally that would solely delete your data/install folders of the game. But because the devs intended to be helpful and delete added mods and such too, but for 2 failed to add a certain sanity check, a glaring flaw could be disastrous.
Issue is I guess they used a referential which wasn't locked down. They probably added an type of delete:folderx+topx, but didn't use a sanity of if.not:topx= check.

According to the Unofficial Oblivion Patch's changelog, the crash occurs because with bread in his inventory, his AI package attempts to use an unimplemented bread delivery function (so perhaps he was intended to deliver bread to the inn as immersion?)
Meanwhile in 2026 the cart is currently easily being defeated by having a high framerate.
I like how Colonial was also misspelled Colonal on the splash screen at 2:41 . Definitely thought that was the typo they were talking about at first
I don’t know how you can watch this channel, not give it a like and be subscribed. It’s the best gaming related channel.
The baker workaround being "Just... please avoid bread.." because they can't fix it is probably one of the funniest things in gaming.
hey gameranx the ball x pit update is including falcon as playable character. Exciting stuff
Surprised Bethesda only showed up twice! Maybe Gameranx is planning on making a seperate video just for Bethesda 😅
14:33 oh thats pronounced like the pokemon Mew, not moo lmao
😅 thanks for the insight!
μ is also the proper abbreviation for micro as in μg for micrograms. Alas, it's usually abbreviated as mcg to avoid the Greek letter.
I remember using it when studying electronics. Capacitance in capacitors is often measured in microfarads (μF) & picofarads (pF).
@redsynit was everywhere when I was studying chemistry lol. Which is why them pronouncing it "moo" made me howl lol
In modern Greek, it is pronounced "mee." In ancient Greek, it was pronounced like mü.
"Mew" is a more modern English mispronunciation.
Nobody cares dude. Lmfao
I was expecting the Ghandi aggression bug from the Civ games being off 1 number and turning him from pacifist into Genghis Khan.
It's in another Gameranx list, I believe... something about bugs becoming features.
In fairness to Bethesda, this could also be a list made entirely of something like New World bugs 🤭
13:45 only Falcon would pronounce Mu as "Moo" instead of "Mew"
Y'all need to start putting in pronunciation notes for the poor guy.
4:50 anyone else imagine Randy Pitchford's ego being the reason they won't acknowledge it?
The cart launch was still a thing a couple of years ago when I tried playing it on VR. It didn't matter how many times I tried; I ended up against a tree, spinning in circles.
12:25 "All your base are belong to us" lmao
4:53 Gearbox just being so idgaf about the easiest thing of all time is for real inexcusable.
It was discovered YEARS later. What developer on Earth would care?
Probably slapped their egos lol
@Twigg4075 the cause was discovered years later, the problem was right there from the start.
But you can’t blame the devs if the gamers dont refund.
@hurmzzYeah, I get that.
Good morning Falcon, my fav show is on
Good morning!
Same brotha!
The Skyrim cart is still a big issue especially with any modded physics or skeletons and is one of the reasons alternate start mods were created lol
The Greek Alphabet!!😂😂😂 BTW im greek 😎...still laughing 😂😂😂
Shoutout and big dap for Gameranx writers
I had that issue with the cart in Skyrim because a mod messed with Helgen, so I guess the bug got reinstated by the mod. The mod page even says don't install until after Helgen
Lol The Pain from MGS Delta would be a weapon of mass destruction in Skyrim
A slight correction. The bug in Ar Tonelico 2 was fixed, but only in the PAL release.
I just wanted to post this as well :D I beat the game multiple times and never had this freeze in the PAL version
Thanks for shouting this out!
HANK!!!! DONT ABBREVIATE CYBERPUNK!!!!!! HANK!!!!!!
Soul caliber 3’s corrupted data file will always be the bane of my existence. All that work just to have your file destroyed. Heartbreaking.
My brother broke his Pokemon Yellow game by trading me his Pikachu via link cable :D
i don't think i could be any more subscribed then i already am bird
The Coconut JPG in TF2 is another hilarious one. One that doesn't/didn't break the game for players, but the devs deleted a Coconut JPG from their files that wasn't being used and then found they couldn't run the game.
A character who can't eat bread least the world end sounds like a fun quark for any fantasy story.
Falcon! How about games saved by updates?
Oh that would be a fun one to cover. Thanks for the suggestion!
Don't you overburden da bird!
@gameranxTVVideo games that sort of predicted the future...kinda...like Eliza...
@gameranxTVCyberpunk 2077 must be on that list
That goes back so far. For example, there are multiple Commodore 64 games that got fixed ~30 years later so they could be completed!
The bee issue was not just a pre feature, I remember before one of the first updates, this was a thing that was posted about occasionally.
10:13 you mean One Hundred Million. Not One Hundred Thousand. That be a 100 with six zeroes my fella.
Proving, once again, that Falcon is not AI.
You feel good about yourself? Lmfao
Nobody cares
That Skyrim physics bug would always happen when I modded Skyrim VR for better Valve Index controls. Damn, that was quite the trip (through the air).
LOL got to imagine that was a real surprise
Just install a turbo-encabulator
There's also Age of Empires on the DS and its cartridge-bricking inability to accept a name less than four letters long.
Such an underrated gem of a game though. I play it on an emulator every once in a while
Morrowind had a glitch where if you went to this estate later in the game it would start lagging and eventually crash. Apparently the issue was tied to the local map. In the game of the year edition the lagging didn’t happen anymore, and if you brought up the local map when you were in the area it was just a blue screen.

Absolutely missed a Black Books reference there
This segue, to the subscribe button. Falcon is turning into Linus from LTT.
So I found out with Soul Caliber 3 on the PS2 you just had to copy the game data onto a second memory card.
That cart stepped on a bee.
I have to wonder if the WWE 2k20 issue was related to Flash. We had a similar stupid fix at work where a training program ran in Flash. No mention of the Myth:Soulblighter uninstall bug, that potentially erased everything on your computer depending on where the game was installed?
In xenoverse 2, If 1 Soul Punisher Ultimate hits another Soul Punisher, the game crashes
I'm guessing Aliens Colonial Marines is on this list?
Yep
Yup.
No $#!+
Ya
I guess that Greek symbol caused to much friction for Runescape to handle.
1:52 "You can tell we don't use AI to write these things..." And you cannot believe how absolutely happy I am about that. Please do not ever change that.
i heard "i am incontinent when it comes to programming" and i was gonna have questions
I think you could do a whole video on the launch version of Cyberpunk 2077 running on a Playstation 4.
6:14 I say no more…
I once broke my copy of Final Fantasy VIII I'd forget to put it back in the case and misplaced it by the time found it again the dust had formed a film that made it impossible to read 😢
Aliens was so buggy there was also a misspelling on the german copy. on the box bbackside was written: Colonial Arines.
😅
So they can program the baker to not seek out bread, but they can’t program him to not go eat it and crash the game??
A honorable mention to Crusader Kings three, which allegedly once had an issue that the Greek rulers would use up way to much processing power to constantly think about whom they would want to castrate. Funnily, I did, once, got the Skyrim intro cart flying into the air, with Ralof just continuing his speech as if nothing went wrong.
Didn't know what triggered it and it never happened again, so I guess we got hit by a rogue unfixed bee that one time.
Yeah that happened to me twice, like being in a blender lol
LOL
Happend to me the first time I booted the vr version
@CricketRick😂 ill bet that was fun
I’ll always remember glitching through random parts of Skyrim by running around holding a silver platter and running through it😂
got dang, the music is loud
I remember early on with Skyrim, that in the opening introduction, everything was fine _unless I looked straight down_ . So even after this bee fix, the cart had physics bugs at launch. 10/10 experience overall, of course, per Bethesda.
Now the opposite: 10 SMARTEST Things That FIXED Video Games
Like the programmer who fixed the loading times for GTA Online
Speaking of NIS, there is still game crashing bugs in Disgaea 7 if your unlucky, which is made more annoying when you find out they fixed it for the console version over a year ago now, but for some reason won't release the update for the PC, so f us I guess :L :L
I have video of the skyrim opening scene glitching the cart out, i think a mod may have added collision on bees back xD or something along those lines
Number one let's gooooooo 🏆
😅
I don't make videos, but if I did, it would be "10 dumb games that broke ME" 😂
You guys have become one of my favorite video game channels!!
I never found that problem in Ar Tonelico 2...
Should have mentioned the original marathon bug that wiped your whole drive when deleting the game
Thanks for bringing this one up. Maybe we'll come back with a part 2
2:41 A simple typo in... ALLENS COLONAL MARINES lololol 🤣🤣
Soul Calibur 6 still has the same save file glitch. This time if someone rage quits in a ranked game, the game crashes and your save files get corrupted. Some cheaters just get into ranked do nothing or rage quit and you loose all your files. It's still not fixed till this day.
The bee was a prototype of the skyrim space program
AR TONELICO MENTIONED
“It’s a hoot” nice line there.
All these studio devs sound like my devs
Was expecting the coconut in team fortress 2. Maybe in a next one
What a fate. The gods have forbidden him to eat bread😂
The thumbnail is hilarious 😂😂
I had a teacher who worked on aliens' colonial marines and we were talking about the game and he said the guy in charge of writing the code was super egotistical and would never make a simple mistake like that so he found it very funnt
this reminds me of a video by "dougdoug", where he add a strange Mod to Skyrim that would make ten monsters spawn, if he SAID the name of the monster.
since he was also reading Twitch Chat messages aloud, they kept spawning during the intro, and messing up the cart, forcing him to restart.
"do you still allow swearing in chat, or have you banned it?"
*Spawning Bandits*
i also remember an article in an old gaming magazine, where someone working on a Baseball Simulator game made a typo, putting a "-" where there should have been a "+".
this caused the Curveball subroutine to work BACKWARDS, so that if you tried to make the ball curve to the left, it would curve to the right!
"Perky Pile, party of six! Perky Pile, party of six!"
Was not expecting to see TXR3 on this list. Super annoying to not be able to finish the game due to the currency requirement
