Hey Agnar and crew 👋 From Oregon USA . We bought 2 of these from you folks earlier this year. We are in the process of getting them rigged up on the ol' baden for nearshore groundfish and possibly Sablefish. Maybe even deep dropping for Swords? or whatever might be down there at night, during the offshore Albacore season. These videos are awesome, very informative. 👍 keep them coming if you all have time. We are looking forward to fishing with these machines. They look like just the ticket in the right application! And tough as nails. Any more videos that you can post of these machines in action, as well as further instructions, would make a fisherman smile a mile 😀 Thank you all and great fishing to all of you 🤙
Hi Bob. Thanks for your feedback, we really appreciate it. We are excited for you and can't wait to hear from you again, when you begin to use your JigReels. Don't hesitate to connect with us now that you will begin installing and using them, we may have some pointers for you. Please use our contact form on our website. We've just now released two more how-to videos on the JigReel and a third one will be uploaded soon. Take a look. :-) Great fishing to you!
I ended up with an older version when i bought a boat. As a rod fisherman you always try to minimize non catching gear so it took a while to grasp the idea of a minimum 4lb weight. Ive been using it for trawling with some 15 hooks . Unfortunately the machine only takes up to 40 kg..Is there anyway to verify the machine is pulling this. Every trip ive ended up pulling it in by hand. I would like to try it for halibut or just bait fishing without the jigging. Cheers from Norway.
Hello from Oilwind, Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience. It's great to hear that you've been exploring the capabilities of our JigReel, even though it sounds like there have been some challenges. Regarding the weight limit, our machines are indeed designed to handle the loads see what describing, which should be sufficient for most trawling activities. To verify if your machine is functioning within this capacity, I'd recommend getting in touch with our technical team. They can guide you through the process of setting the machine up correctly and figure out if there are any problems with it. As for trying out halibut or bait fishing without the jigging, that's a fantastic idea! In fact, we have examples of fishermen successfully reeling in massive halibut, grouper, and other large fish using our equipment. You might find some inspiration on our Facebook page, where we've recently posted pictures of such catches. If you'd like more personalized advice or assistance, please feel free to reach out to us directly through the contact form on our website. One of our technicians will be more than happy to help you. Happy fishing, and cheers from the Oilwind team!
