You are so totally right about that! Who’d imagined that all the interval acts were more powerful than any ‘regular’ act? I was amazed by what we Dutchies can do even during a pandemic. ‘Rock The Roof’; also brilliantly done, Duncan Laurence; beautiful! And that bike crossing: who came up with that? I’m sorry to say, but I skipped some performances, and wanted to see interval acts. And then I drank some more alcohol to sit it out. 🙈🙈🙈 However, I don’t even know who the winner was, I do know that Britain got nil points, but the interval acts: they are on my eyes yet, still everyday. 😊

The sweet, sweet water is a methaphor for what we all need in life and what connects the world. Well, it was connecting..... 'cause 183 million viewers watched the show , 36 coutries were connected by the Eurovision song festival broadcast from Rotterdam. Davina Michelle was amazing.
And a little adding about the part where she stands in the water. The crew was talking about this part a lot. Because at first when se stands in the water the music will turn harder or something. But we as Holland indeed have a love-hate relation with the water. And water gives a lot of people peace,so they decided that that part needed soft music. I am so proud of eurovideon 2021, I have never loved eurovision that much.
For me, and a couple of million others, this was the winning song for the contest... only.. it was not a competing song so it could not win. Davina and her team wrote this song for Eurovision to represent the theme and our nation, water is the life force of the Netherlands, we've learned to respect the destructive power of water, but we're not fearful of it, we work with water, we make water work for us, reclaim land from the sea and constructed all sorts of safety measures to keep the water under control. (North sea.) But we also realize that we are blessed with the amounts of water we have and all the wealth it brings us, while at the same time knowing all to well that this is not the case for many other countries who suffer drought and are lacking enough safe drinking water for all their people. All that is combined into this song, the message is powerful, and it is representative for our nation. Davina did an amazing job to say the least, if this was a contending song... i dare say this would have been way up there, likely a contender for the win. Last year we couldnt do Eurovision due to corona restrictions but this year we could and we went all out for it. And i'm not even saying this because i am Dutch, but i dare say this was one of the best Eurovision contest ever, the staging, lighting and visuals were the highest quality you can get. The show's theme was the power of water, but the lyrics are not really about that, but about the need for drinking water all over the world, and the fact that many people don't have easy access to sweet drinking water. People who have enough, should care and share more.

I was part of the audience during the live show. What made me emotional was seeing over 4.000 people in the Ahoy’ arena, for the very first time after our Covid lockdown. I had to adjust my mind to it. You could feel the energy in the arena. Everybody was happy and ready to have fun. The show itself was amazing. This performance was very nice to watch live but best viewed on tv/computer screen. That’s mostly due to the technology used to make it seem like the arena was filled with water. Off course the stage was huge and also did it’s part in the display. All in all great Dutch design.

Actually, the visuals show how we need to look under the surface of the waters (nature) to realize it's the worst thing to fight it. We have to wrap our arms around nature and work with her. Like we have to look further in the "scary" waters to realize the depts of life and embrace it.. sweet sweet water ❤ I think this song is about the connection between human and earth/nature, at least that's how I interpret it!

The woman in the intro of the song and who was in the sea is Thekla Reuten, a very good Dutch actress. Not so wellknown but very good. Played in quite some European movies and also some American.
The "platform"you saw is the movable flood protection mechanism in the Easter Scheldt, one of the largest structures of its kind in the world. 9 kilometres long it allows salt water to enter the Scheldt but can be closed when a storm surge is expected,that happened 27 times since 1986..
I’m proud of Davina and the Dutch organization that put this together. 3 three shows: 2 semi-finals and the final on Saturday. In total like 9 hours of the most advance shows ever in the Eurovision Song Contest. Flawless. Awesome and flawless.
Davina Michelle is our best singer. She just goes into your veins at touches you heart every time. And I was so proud of this act; being Dutch and living below sea level. They made a great production!
This was in The NETHERlands, the country in Europe below sea level (at least a major part of it...), and the Dutch are known for their water management that's why they choose this song from Davina, not to forget she's a great singer...!!! (because of corona the venue wasn't completely "filled", there were about 3000/4000 people , but it holds about 16.000...!!)
I was there for all three nights in Rotterdam. But these interval performances had a lot of Augmented Reality that was not visible at the venue. The lights and the screen were out of this world though and her voice is always amazing!
How it felt? Sensational, goose bumps all over. And proud that our little country produces such an astonishing show for 183 million (!) viewers. And quess what.... there are more interval acts from this contest worthwile watching.
🙋♀️ yeah me, I was there, in the audience, for the family-show. Because of COVID-19 only 3,500 people were in there. This is only 20% from what an audience at Eurovision usually is. Each live-show is performed 3 times. 2 "rehearsals" and one live-broadcast. There's a couple of effects you see that come to their full right when televised, but to see it all live yes it definitely was an experience. I felt it in my bones. I have to warn you though, but when you get into Eurovision you are entering a world of its own. It has I believe it's 180 mil viewers worldwide and has been in existence since 1956. So that's a lot to choose from. As you've seen nowadays it's the pinnacle of sound- and stage-effects. You should definitely check out the intervalact from the Final this year as well. That one's called Music Binds Us and features Glennis Grace, Wulf and Afrojack.

I mean when will the next time be, in another 40+ years? Took my daughter (16) along for the experience. Hopefully someday she can do the same for her kids as well.

I always love to see someone watch Eurovision while knowing nothing about Eurovision or only know it this year. There is so much to discover. Besides (as I am Dutch) this year was exceptionally good in the production. I am very proud of the show we have put on.
Most effects were only visible on the television screen. Eurovision is broadcasting in all of europe...so its mostly focussed on giving the people at home a great show. The people who were actually there didn't saw most of the special effect..because it was only vissible at the television screen. But I only could Imagine that hearing Davina sing live would be a great experience
I was there. Truly amazing although the visuals were not as great as "seen on tv". Had an perfect night though, since it was the first night out in about a year. With 3500 truly happy people in one arena. For me it was a bucketlist ✔.

I was there live. Davina is from my hometown and the woman is one of the best female singers in our universe. I love her and this performance hit me like a bullit. (Can't remember who won the contest but this is a scar)❤
The meaning behind the song is obviously the fact that the world's fresh water reserves aren't doing too well and that we have to care more. Another important meaning of this song is that of the Netherlands (where this year's Eurovision was hosted) is actually underneath the sea level for roughly 26% of the entire country! The Dutch are the masters of reclaiming land from the sea, one of our provinces called Flevoland was actually completely reclaimed. The Dutch are also leading dam builders. This is because of in the history of the country, there was an never ending struggle with floods. One of the most recent and deadly ones was the one which happened in 1953. More than 2000 people lost their lives and even more got homeless. The big dam you could see Davina driving the motorcycle is called the Delta Works. It is roughly 5miles long and has protected the Dutch from possible floods ever since. Sorry if it is a long read but I hope you enjoyed this little history lesson and understand the meaning behind this song and music video a bit better now!

She made us very proud in the Netherlands, and this song touches us Dutch people because we know the meaning of the song as she sings about the battle we fight already for centuries against rising water (sea level) the Netherlands is mainly below sea level and so yes the sea is our biggest enemy with the rising water.
A little while ago I would have had a dozen more recommendations of Davina, but she is in such a steep upwards curve that I would say today there is nothing that can top her latest tracks. One that sticks with me though is her opening in the pink tour of her song 'Better Now'
You make a great series of Dutch music. But to understand this last one about water, you need to know what happened in 1953. please look at a documentary of the flood disaster.

I've heard that if you were there you couldnt see the effects. On tv it looks incredible, but when you're there it's just the stage. Would be amazing if they had these things live as well.

There were only 3500 people in the audience actually, which is about 20% of normal capacity for the venue. They but the greenrooms of the artists in front of the stage though, so it would fill out some more visually and the visual effects also went over those boots/green"rooms"/areas. It was supercool

I work for a company that facilitates all of the registration of this great show, a lot you see on television are augmented reality effects, but there is certainly a lot to see on stage when you're there though, great light effects. I believe you might as well quit watching the rest of euro vision 2021 after this, cause this was by far the best performance, even when it wasn't even in the competition. I do agree that Glennis and Afrojack were also worth watching, only I thought it took a bit for Glennis to warm up her voice, but once it was on, it was ON!
That is not a platform, that is Neeltje Jans. Delta Park Neeltje Jans is saving the Netherlands when there will be a big floot. They build it years after the big water disaster in feb 1953
"Neeltje Jans" is only an island, not the dam itself. The dam itself is called "Oosterscheldekering" and it is part of the "deltawerken" which are multiple dams of different kinds, that protect us from the sea.
This production was made for video and tv. The 3,500 people present in Ahoy Rotterdam only saw the same that you and I did if they watched the giant video screens. On stage there were Davina and the dancers performing on, in front of and below huge - and I mean HUGE - green screens. A fabulous production and Davina surely is our rising star.

About 2-3 weeks ago extremely heavy rainfall caused all kinds of floods in Germany, Belgium, Austria and the Netherlands. A lot of people died or are still missing. Thousands of houses and farmland were destroyed. Sweet sweet water but it can be a nasty and strong element.

Yes... Davina! participated idols in 2016 and wasn't found good enough by a dude in the jury that said and thought he knew music talent......she started her RUclips channel singing covers. One cover she did was a cover from Pink! She reacted on her doing her cover and the rest is history.....this should have been the song for the Netherlands.....the winning song by miles....

I’m proud of Davina and the Dutch organization that put this together. 3 three shows: 2 semi-finals and the final on Saturday. In total like 9 hours of the most advance shows ever in the Eurovision Song Contest. Flawless. Awesome and flawless.

This was in The NETHERlands, the country in Europe below sea level (at least a major part of it...), and the Dutch are known for their water management that's why they choose this song from Davina, not to forget she's a great singer...!!! (because of corona the venue wasn't completely "filled", there were about 3000/4000 people , but it holds about 16.000...!!)

How it felt? Sensational, goose bumps all over. And proud that our little country produces such an astonishing show for 183 million (!) viewers. And quess what.... there are more interval acts from this contest worthwile watching.

🙋♀️ yeah me, I was there, in the audience, for the family-show. Because of COVID-19 only 3,500 people were in there. This is only 20% from what an audience at Eurovision usually is.
Each live-show is performed 3 times. 2 "rehearsals" and one live-broadcast.
There's a couple of effects you see that come to their full right when televised, but to see it all live yes it definitely was an experience. I felt it in my bones.
I have to warn you though, but when you get into Eurovision you are entering a world of its own. It has I believe it's 180 mil viewers worldwide and has been in existence since 1956. So that's a lot to choose from. As you've seen nowadays it's the pinnacle of sound- and stage-effects.
You should definitely check out the intervalact from the Final this year as well. That one's called Music Binds Us and features Glennis Grace, Wulf and Afrojack.

@@bornwithoutconsentobviously in a way yeah wouldn't have missed it for the world....and I was back again the 19th for the 2nd semi-final juryshow😉, so I got to see almost all the acts live on stage🤩🤩. I mean when will the next time be, in another 40+ years? Took my daughter (16) along for the experience. Hopefully someday she can do the same for her kids as well.

I always love to see someone watch Eurovision while knowing nothing about Eurovision or only know it this year. There is so much to discover. Besides (as I am Dutch) this year was exceptionally good in the production. I am very proud of the show we have put on.
Most effects were only visible on the television screen.
Eurovision is broadcasting in all of europe...so its mostly focussed on giving the people at home a great show.
The people who were actually there didn't saw most of the special effect..because it was only vissible at the television screen.

I was there. Truly amazing although the visuals were not as great as "seen on tv". Had an perfect night though, since it was the first night out in about a year. With 3500 truly happy people in one arena. For me it was a bucketlist ✔.

The meaning behind the song is obviously the fact that the world's fresh water reserves aren't doing too well and that we have to care more.
Another important meaning of this song is that of the Netherlands (where this year's Eurovision was hosted) is actually underneath the sea level for roughly 26% of the entire country!
The Dutch are the masters of reclaiming land from the sea, one of our provinces called Flevoland was actually completely reclaimed.
The Dutch are also leading dam builders.
This is because of in the history of the country, there was an never ending struggle with floods.
One of the most recent and deadly ones was the one which happened in 1953.
More than 2000 people lost their lives and even more got homeless.
The big dam you could see Davina driving the motorcycle is called the Delta Works.
It is roughly 5miles long and has protected the Dutch from possible floods ever since.

Eurovision was so good this year!
She made us very proud in the Netherlands, and this song touches us Dutch people because we know the meaning of the song as she sings about the battle we fight already for centuries against rising water (sea level) the Netherlands is mainly below sea level and so yes the sea is our biggest enemy with the rising water.
A little while ago I would have had a dozen more recommendations of Davina, but she is in such a steep upwards curve that I would say today there is nothing that can top her latest tracks. One that sticks with me though is her opening in the pink tour of her song 'Better Now'
You make a great series of Dutch music. But to understand this last one about water, you need to know what happened in 1953. please look at a documentary of the flood disaster.

I've heard that if you were there you couldnt see the effects. On tv it looks incredible, but when you're there it's just the stage. Would be amazing if they had these things live as well.

There were only 3500 people in the audience actually, which is about 20% of normal capacity for the venue. They but the greenrooms of the artists in front of the stage though, so it would fill out some more visually and the visual effects also went over those boots/green"rooms"/areas. It was supercool

I work for a company that facilitates all of the registration of this great show, a lot you see on television are augmented reality effects, but there is certainly a lot to see on stage when you're there though, great light effects. I believe you might as well quit watching the rest of euro vision 2021 after this, cause this was by far the best performance, even when it wasn't even in the competition. I do agree that Glennis and Afrojack were also worth watching, only I thought it took a bit for Glennis to warm up her voice, but once it was on, it was ON!

That is not a platform, that is Neeltje Jans. Delta Park Neeltje Jans is saving the Netherlands when there will be a big floot. They build it years after the big water disaster in feb 1953
"Neeltje Jans" is only an island, not the dam itself.
The dam itself is called "Oosterscheldekering" and it is part of the "deltawerken" which are multiple dams of different kinds, that protect us from the sea.
This production was made for video and tv. The 3,500 people present in Ahoy Rotterdam only saw the same that you and I did if they watched the giant video screens. On stage there were Davina and the dancers performing on, in front of and below huge - and I mean HUGE - green screens. A fabulous production and Davina surely is our rising star.
There were no green screens in that performance though. And people who actually liked the comment? You're morons.
There was only a single green screen performance and it was one of the contestants.

About 2-3 weeks ago extremely heavy rainfall caused all kinds of floods in Germany, Belgium, Austria and the Netherlands. A lot of people died or are still missing. Thousands of houses and farmland were destroyed. Sweet sweet water but it can be a nasty and strong element.

there were not many people in Ahoy Rotterdam about 5000 because of covid we delivered the furniture of the dressing rooms and the brother of my boss has build the stage and a lot of other tech people she wasn't a contender but she had the best act of the evening greetings from the the litle country that always fight the water

Yes... Davina! participated idols in 2016 and wasn't found good enough by a dude in the jury that said and thought he knew music talent......she started her RUclips channel singing covers. One cover she did was a cover from Pink! She reacted on her doing her cover and the rest is history.....this should have been the song for the Netherlands.....the winning song by miles....
