I love to see old barns fixed up like this. Here in Kentucky, I used to run a 5 man crew and we probably did 50 or more old barns in the Lexington area over a 10 year period.
This is a BEAUTIFUL barn, great work to everyone, love to see these old barns, they are testament to time, part of our history, this is the biggest barn I've seen, does anyone know the dimensions on this barn, thanks for sharing.
Was the wood making up the framework old? It can handle the weight? I am about to buy an old barn. I'm worried the wood is not structurally sound. How did you buckle the top pieces to the structure at the bottom and top. It looks like you overlapped the top pieces on to the bottom pieces. Did you put a small shim at the top to have them angled? Or did you put in a square piece or just attach them to the top part of the frame with nothing else?
@@adamdressler5391 Yes! It was built before the Civil War. It used to be the workshop for an old carriage company well known in my county. I'm actually going to be doing some major work on it in the coming weeks before winter.
It almost hurts my soul to see beautiful old barns falling apart. Thanks, mysterious strangers.

This is amazing! So much hard work and it's totally paying off! Congrats, guys!
What a beautiful barn! Nice job 👍🏻
Absolutely beautiful!!!
Every time I see a barn like that, it makes me glad I'm not a roofer.
I know right! Nice profile picture by the way!
Nicely done.
What kind of boards did you guys use ?
Was it modern 1x6, 1x10, etc , or some kind of reclaimed wood ?
What's impressive here is all was done off of a ladder. No reach or basket machines
Yep but way more dangerous
Avoid ladders whenever possible
How much did it cost you?

Did you end up getting the barn?

@@HollywoodCreeper All the best!
Congratulations on the barn!
The final scene shows narrow vertical boards layered over the siding. It adds a lot to its appearance. Is that also a functional/practical addition?
keeps wind and rain from entering...
Where is this? Awesome!
Why sheet over the concrete block walls?
What blows my mind is you didn't use any scaffolding! Kinda dangerous and twice as much work goin up and down, up and down. looks great though!!!
THEY SHOULD INVEST IN RAIN GUTTERS DIRECTED TO A TANK FOR THE ANIMALS!!!support your local farmers!!!! GO FARMERS!!!
Don’t think they are running into water issues up there.
