I think they decided the scene to go that way to show the real america and the real unjustice in america. Showing off a system that puts innocent black people to prison while letting guilty white men go free... So I support the directive they were going with the scene to show off reality and make a point but I'm conflicted because I really care for the character :'(
I'm aware of the fact that black people can be guilty of a crime. But criminalty and the factors behind it has a lot to do with socio-economic background. And we live in a society where the system benefits white people in that sense. Raising kids in poverty is a factor to wether or not the kid is going to committe crimes when he/she grows up. And the american system is in general failing on black people. That's why blacklivesmatter should be taken seriously.
I saw this verdict coming from a mile away. The whole season they snuck in little political jabs at the right wing and when I saw the white jury walk out I knew where it was going. That is one bad thing about playing political games in TV dramas, it ruins the shock that this would have had otherwise. It was still a great scene and super intense but it was too obvious from the outset that she was going down for this. Also the ICE/detention center I legit didn't see coming because it was just too over the top stupid. I literally laughed out loud when the ICE truck picked up Flores and it totally took me out of the show right at the end.

What to me was disturbing in the first place is that the shot a person without even knowing who it was. And even if it was an inmate coming through are they even allowed to just kill random people like that?

Main reason why lie detectors aren't admissable in court is because it's not fullproof. It's dependent on reading things like your heartbeat and blood pressure and whatnot, and someone who truly believes they are innocent (like they have deluded themselves into it), will pass a lie detector.

It's a suspense scene, I personally think jury was in her favour and she is not guilty, the expression of people are tears of happiness that Tasha got justice, she is taken back to prison to complete her previous crime time and Caputo challenges the CERT officer that he will bring back the truth for which Tasha has suffered from the past and expose him.
personally I think got life without any chance of parole and since she went to court for murder and was found guilty I think the final episode is going to be her in the electric chair
She doesn't have Vee. She does nor have Poussey. She essentially does not have Cindy. However Caputo and Tamika believe her and in her. That's all she has left. Caputo has a lot of time on his hands as he quit. He won't let this injustice go. Believe me.

Beachdudeca that's exactly what's wrong with the "justice" system. She got charged for murdering Piscatella even though she didn't do it. Innocent people die in prison because once you've been charged with murder it's nearly impossible to get a judge to even think about looking at the case again. People convicted of murder only get a certain number of chances to ask for their case to be looked at again and most judges give them a quick automatic no.
Addison Kramlich except , with a Jury if a suspect has done a shitty thing its easy to see them doing the crime of which they are accused , as for the appeals process its easier when the convict can show that criminal acts were not in their character
