What are you saying? The Wii version was made by a different company. It's easier to port a version of the game YOU made. You have access to the source code and the guys who worked on it.
agreed, I have all 3 versions and question why the hell the Wii U was not a port of the Wii version but the 3DS which of course had lower-end stuff and Wii version just looked and felt better. Heck on the Wii U on the first Robo series boss Olme/Othrios he actually went outside the tree and could still throw stuff to hit me, on the Wii version he never did this
Yea, it was really dumb. The Wii U is essentially a massively upgraded and overclocked Wii - even a straight up conversion with no changes should run at 1080p60 without much work. So essentially the Wii U got a poor port of a poor port - crazy stuff lol.
@@gamecube8885 Yes that's when their respective versions of the game were completed, but I'm saying that the physical consoles were released in 2006 and 2012.
Well, congrats on 1000 subs. I've only heard bad things about Rodea, but given the game's troubled development history, that would make sense. It seems Yuji Naka just can't catch a break. Maybe I should give it a try after all. It looks interesting, at least.
Thanks. If you like Sonic Colours (which I know you do) and don't mind the Wii Metroid Prime controls, you'll probably enjoy the Wii Rodea. I imagine most of the dislike is coming from people who couldn't get used to the controls. Probably the same crowd of people that say the Skyward Sword controls are "irresponsive"
It's a good game on Wii. But I would have liked more control options. Turning Speed can't be set and there is no turning once you use the D-Pad for walking. Optional Nunchuk support would have also been nice.
at the very least you can appreciate the work they put in the WiiU version, they changed mechanics but made sure the level design changed to fit those mechanics, how many games have changed the gameplay/design while keeping the opposite the same
Rodea gets a bad rep for some reason. I love the game(The story and buildings could use some work though.) I think it's severely underrated for what it is.
This game seems interesting. I may end up having to pick it up. Especially since the Wii version is apparently a timed bonus. I already regret that with Bayonetta 2
I SWEAR the Wii U version has very strict death zones that wouldn’t kill me in the Wii version, even if I could easily fly back... Got way too many game overs to count and I... gave up!
I actually didn't know some of the differences in the Wii U version since I quit fairly early in that version. Definitely agree with the wii version being far better, though I feel like I should go back and give the Wii U one a fair chance. Gosh, I remember rushing to get this game since I was afraid I'd miss out on getting the first print copies. Months later and I still see first print copies of the game now around like $25 . Ahahaha..ahhh.
JoshKall Do you believe that there could be a remaster where they can incorporate the best ideas from Wii U and Wii. The motion control to be quote honest doesn't seem vital. The right thumstick can take care of that.
JoshKall very fast camera movements seems to make my eyes sore very quickly. it's not specifically rodea, because I can play it, but only if im careful not to make the camera whip around too much. this happens with quite a few games.
It's insane that they ported the 3DS version to the Wii U, it would have been far far easier to port the Wii version. They could and should have kept the Wii remote support (with perhaps optional gyro/touchscreen control since I guess some Wii U owners might not have had a Wii remote). The publisher just made bad decision upon bad decision: "Let's hold back the Wii release so we can port it to the 3DS!" Apart from that being a silly thing to do, it wasn't even worth it because the 3DS version is probably the worst one. And because it took so long they then held THAT back while they ported the 3DS version to the Wii U? And by the time they'd finished that the Wii U had already proven to be a flop? I bet someone's head rolled over that shitshow.
I might actually pick up the Wii U version. I really hate motion controls being forced down my throat, so actual controller support being a thing is welcomed in my eyes.
Really, you only have 1,113 subs ( 3 more than I have, I guess) I could of sworn you had at least like 5000. Your style is great but during the segments where no gameplay is shown (like at 1:02) have you thought of using something less static in the background? Like maybe something like the stripes in your thumbnails moving kind of like this ruclips.net/video/ILzVTolCBRs/видео.html or maybe something colorful like this ruclips.net/video/5Ehd4cFEvnQ/видео.html . I don't know maybe its just the editor in me that just doesn't like still frames.
Yea I wish I had that many subs. I see where you're coming from. I'm by no means a pro editor or anything like that. I don't really bother with a moving background since my videos usually don't hold on to stills for that long anyway.
The Wii version is Yoshimi Yasuda and Yuji Naka's true vision and it is fun as hell!! Screw the Wii U version. I flipped the cover art and manual to the Wii version and ta-da!! Perfect.
not just crashes but changes that are not present in other versions of the rom. or available only in the european and Australian version, but not available in the first release/version
...why not just upscale the Wii version to be the Wii U version and call it a day? Why port over the entire 3DS version? Damn.
I suppose they thought their version was superior enough that it was worth porting theirs instead of Prope's.
What are you saying? The Wii version was made by a different company. It's easier to port a version of the game YOU made. You have access to the source code and the guys who worked on it.

It’s Publisher bullshit. Probably has to do with royalty rate.
Porting this game to the Switch would be a great idea, the Wii version, not the WiiU one. It could even work in tabletop mode.
Wii: Released 2006 and the game looks and runs better than the Wii U released in 2012.
rayco santana the Wii version still looks better, even if you play it on Wii.
Wii: 2011
Wii U: 2015
@@gamecube8885 Yes that's when their respective versions of the game were completed, but I'm saying that the physical consoles were released in 2006 and 2012.
Ohhhhh......
480p but 60 FPS and Good Gameplay >>>>>>>> 1080p but 30 FPS and Bad Gameplay
Wii Version Win.

Thanks for mentioning the 2 for pilot mode thats neat. I had no idea thats even a thing on the Wii version.
Oh my, so many gravitons...
I probably would have missed this game without your video. Thanks!
this entire situation is pretty amazing!
This was a well made video, I'm surprised you only have 1,700 Subs. Keep up the great work man!
Thanks, will do. (Although around the same speed as ProJarad)
Rodea gets a bad rep for some reason. I love the game(The story and buildings could use some work though.)
I think it's severely underrated for what it is.
Call me surprised when I picked up this game and opened it up to see an additional disk. Thanks for the details!
Thank goodness I got mine with both Wii and WiiU copy at gamestop for $25 years ago.
Gonna grab the wii version. What a wonderfully weird game situation
I’ve never heard telephone be called “Chinese whispers” lmfao
yeah you can definitely tell the man who created sonic was behind this
I just picked up the bonus game version today at Toys R US
I have the collector's edition at home, but never played it.
Can you do "Krusty's Fun House", which was on NES, Super NES, Genesis, and Game Boy?
Last Wii game ever in japan the very last Wii game was Just Dance 2017
Make that Just Dance 2018.
@@rainbowgazelle1218 2020, actually.
This game seems interesting. I may end up having to pick it up. Especially since the Wii version is apparently a timed bonus. I already regret that with Bayonetta 2
I was freaking out because I couldn't get it day 1 and I thought they were all going to sell out. Yea... it wasn't as popular as I thought it'd be.
And 3 versions actually! Wii, 3DS, and Wii U! Next Up, NINTENDO SWITCH AND BEYOND! LOL
I SWEAR the Wii U version has very strict death zones that wouldn’t kill me in the Wii version, even if I could easily fly back...
Got way too many game overs to count and I... gave up!
This game looks fantastic! I hope I can get the Wii version…
great video josh👏
Thank you.
I hope I'm not too late in getting the Wii Version, and if I am then I hope they just re-release the Wii Version on the Wii U eShop soon.
You can still find a few of them around the place where I live in Australia. I don't know about anywhere else though.
the producer of this game is from the creator of sonic
You should do a episode featuring Super Mario 64, one of the greatest games ever made!
This looks like a really fun unique game. Better pick up a Wii disk before it becomes a collector's item.
WaywardRobot now's the time the game could be picked up for $20
wonder how much people are selling the Wii version for now
I actually didn't know some of the differences in the Wii U version since I quit fairly early in that version. Definitely agree with the wii version being far better, though I feel like I should go back and give the Wii U one a fair chance.

I saw one for around half of what I payed for it. Ah well.
just picked it up at target for $6 with the Wii game included.
Airsh Bornely In Brazil still 80$
you always start these vids with
"Ahhh [Insert game title here]"
I wonder if I'm doing that on purpose (¬‿¬)
Can we get a Sonic Generations/Colors version differences?
Modern games usually don't have too many interesting differences. With Rodea being the obvious exception.
You need to make the volume higher...
Well it's not as loud as a music video. But it's not like it's ultra quiet or anything.
JoshKall Do you believe that there could be a remaster where they can incorporate the best ideas from Wii U and Wii. The motion control to be quote honest doesn't seem vital. The right thumstick can take care of that.
RIP Josh :(
he hasnt made a video in a long time
honestly, I have never been able to play these games. they hurt my eyes for some reason.
Rodea hurts your eye? I can't say I've heard that one before.

Seriously Yuji Naka The guy who made The Sonic The Hedgehog Series !
He is known as the guy in jail now :)
A bad publisher robbed Yuji Naka.
Was this game released in Europe?
It sure was
I might actually pick up the Wii U version.
I really hate motion controls being forced down my throat, so actual controller support being a thing is welcomed in my eyes.
Your from Australia because those OLFC ratings

I dislike the wii u version kadokawa

Yup. You win an Australian cookie.

Oblivion Walker Yea, if stuff like that exists and is documented. I'll cover it.
Why even bother making a Wii U version? The Wii U is backwards compatible.
Wow, the WiiU version is completely crap in comparison. Why do such thing?
