    BEIJING is still the best both in opening and closing ceremony....it will be remembered forever...they showed their creativity,great effort and unity...im not a Chinese but i saluted their love and D-D-CATION towards their culture...
    what they did was truly amazing...without the help of those WELL KNOWN celebrities/singers yet they still managed to AWE the world...well done TALENTED,CREATIVE CHINA.

    I'm British/Chinese and I am proud to be one. I loved the Beijing's closing ceremony and I think there's nothing wrong with the London Closing Ceremony, I really enjoyed it, yes its more like a concert but Britain has a popular music industry and it is part of the culture, not to mention, high tea, comedy and the respect of the deceased singers I loved it. But I really wish they do a better job on the opening ceremony though, I don't mind the others but the phone texting part was just ridiculous

  • @ghzsc
    @ghzsc 11 лет назад +7

    i guess some say that beijing closing ceremony is boring cuz they can not fully understand the culture. i am a chinese so i can understand it and gain a lot of fun from it. for me this one is so touching as actually i can rarely see those traditonal performances nowadays. it is always good to remind people of their own culture and to cherish it. in my opinon there's no point to compare it with london ceremony as they are based on different cultures and history.

    The point of the ceremonies is to highlight the history and culture of the host city. Every country and city has a different history and future. All of the ceremonies are special because they united the world under one roof. People need to get over the fact that London wasn't as spectacular as Beijing! Who knows if any ceremony will ever beat Beijing's! However, we need to stay supportive because as Pierre de Coubertin said, "The essential thing is not to have conquered but to have fought well.

    London and Beijing were both good in different ways. to say one was better than the other is not the most mature way to look at it. they were both great ceremonies in their own way, Beijing was grand with incredible colours and fireworks and CGI special effects. London was a celebration of music and historical industry with soul filled references to the youth.

    You can't be serious. The world doesn't owe any "appreciation" for the London Olympics Opening Ceremony to Britain simply because it was one of the first nations to industrialize. Britain had a large role in our recent world history, but your argument is so Anglophilic it's ridiculous. Britain's so-called "inventions" originate from thousands of WORLD history, not simply "because Britain made them".

  • @0casteloencantado0

    i don't think some people understand that it's not the amount of money and extras that make an opening better. london was awful because the people in charge had no taste.

  • @1darkjinx
    @1darkjinx 11 лет назад +15

    Every single Olympics in history did a great job. None of them are the best, they are equal. The olympics is to bring us together, not to split us up. You even see athletes becoming friends even if they were against each other. So, lets become. "One world." Not, one country and let Rio have their turn.

    I think that Great Britain is so much more than music, I was hoping to see a little more of history and tribute to its culture and people, but their closing ceremony was more like 10% tribute to their culture and 90% tribute to their current celebrities

      @TheClassicWorld 9 лет назад +35

      +Paolo Budiel We [UK] have deep history and culture, sadly, most of it can not be displayed in this form, although I feel they ought to have tried, no less, this is why we ended up what we did...we also spent only 9 billion, China spent 40 billion. However, London was okay and a huge huge event. Of course it's not what it ought to have been, but everybody knows China does everything better than everybody else and they have very very deep culture of which can be called upon and elegantly, effortlessly displayed in this form.
      Compared to China, every other was a school play. Lol.

      @tomriddle4832 8 лет назад +10

      +The Anti-Theist Why do you think the Chinese spent 40 billion on the Games and London a fraction of that cost? Because London isn't as insecure as Beijing was. London is a world class city with or without hosting the Olympics, it didn't need to spend so lavishly when it already had the infrastructure in place as well as a lot of the venues.Beijing may have outdone London in terms of scale (and let's not put the UK down here since China is a much bigger country) but London was better in terms of heart and soul.

    • @kplee9861
      @kplee9861 8 лет назад +16

      +Tom Riddle LOL let's not do the comparison by putting down each other. If you're talking about "heart and soul", please search the history and culture of Beijing and comment again. I am sure Beijing wasn't only better than London in terms of scale and population. But yeah I would believe infrastructure and many other aspects in London are still better.

    Seriously?
    Why can't we all just enjoy the performances? Instead of badmouthing each other's ceremonies and comparing them in a detrimental way, why not appreciate all the time and effort it must have taken to create these portrayals, and realize that each and every host nation has brought and will bring something new to the table? Isn't that what the Olympics are about--bringing people together? It's people who argue over such trivial things that make the world such a hard place to live in...

    Criticising the ceremony isn't right. The London closing had a party atmosphere and it worked. Most people in the free world would appreciate the economic reality and London did it with imagination and a daftness that's charming.The important aspects were brilliant - the facilities, the Olympic village and not least, the welcome by the people of London. Let's hope that Rio will to do something good for theunfortunates in the Favelas and try to be half as inclusive as London 2012. Well done GB.

    I don't blame you really, you would have to be British to understand most of it. It nostalgically and emotionally connected with us in a way which really isn't possible for someone living in a different country.
