Fiesch, Switzerland

Our 10 day Swiss/French hang gliding adventure brought us to Fiesch. The flight plan requires a climb off launch to gain enough height to see the Aletsch Glacier, and to make the first valley crossing. If you don't cross, the LZ options are limited. After making it across, it is some distance before reaching the first descent landing field by the Muttergotteskapelle im Ritzinger Feld Chapel. I made that comfortably, while three others from our group (flying topless wings) crossed the gap higher, were able to climb up and fly the entire length of the Canton of Bern Valais, landing at the abandoned airfield near the head of the valley.
