The fidget “flower” is actually a hair accessory. It’s a bun cage and you can create different looks, ponytails and buns, with it.
How? It looks like it'd get tangled easy
@lillysparrow it definitely does get tangled quickly! I use to have then in early 2000s. They still sell them at Renaissance fairs!
This one is also a very low quality one would not use it for hair but the cheap one fine for fidgeting with
I used to wear those "mandala flower fidget toys" in my hair back in 2001. What a call back...
I still have two of them, although my hair is too short to wear one now.
I used to have a small collection of them in like, middle/high school! They came in many different sizes. I wore a few as rings. So much fun!
For me it was the 70s, I loved them
Yes. I paid more than $5 for mine. I will say i played with it more than I wore it. I got mine at a Renaissance fair.
I also had one Probably from around the same time. Mine was Silver with blue beads. Got it From Renn Faire even has a little packet of ways to style it.
When my grandmother took my sibling and I to the Smithsonian museum when we were really young, I was maybe eight, she let both of us each get a little souvenir. I picked one of those flowers and it was SO FUN! A few of the little bendable wire things that wrap around the petals and hold them together broke over time- I played with that flower for years, after all- and each time one broke my grandma just kept some bread twist ties on hand and she'd have me colour the tie with a Sharpie, then snip it down to size to replace the broken wire. Worked like a charm, I loved that thing so much.
I wasn't going to watch this video Because to be honest I'm not into fidgets and i'm getting kind of tired of topic. With that said i'm so glad I did because I was so touched by your lovely story about time spent with your Grandmother. She sounds like an amazing Lady, my guess is this was only one of many fabulous memories that you have with her. I encourage you to share them because they truly are a delight. I never was fortunate enough to have a relationship with my Grandmother's and i'm positive that my life would have been a much more joyful Place if I had. Hugs to you and your Grandma. 😊❤
Most products are sourced from china, so if you buy from the source directly for cheaper is it really a knock off? Your basically buying it for what companies buy at a manufacturing price per item so most the time the legit product is just up sold on the market for a higher price so they can make money. This is just my experience from working at a retail store and knowing how ordering products in bulk go. I buy stuff from Aliexpress and often times the cheaper items are slightly different then the real ones but I think that's just due to how much they manufacture the product. I certainly would rather pay 3$ for a fidget bubble thing than 18$ for nearly the same thing.
This is a great point. I have some hobbies that are more popular in Southeast Asia than in North America, and if I buy from AliExpress I’m getting the exact same item that’s being resold for 2-3x as much on Amazon or Etsy. There are definitely some things that are cheap knockoffs of higher quality items, but sometimes the product was cheap to begin with and you may as well just pay what it’s actually worth.
This. In local markets you usually pay more for packaging and branding, not the item quality. In some cases companies have it in their contracts that the manufacturer can't sell the *exact* same product to others or on their own, but usually the manufacturers produce & sell another variant that's just the teeniest bit different. For example, in foods the brand name might have oregano and basil, but the private label version has just oregano; in toys only the brand name can be red/round/something.
You dont know that materials are being used in them. Some weird substance. Who knows?
Oh
@@mewtwomotherfuka yes, you don't know what materials are being used in any of the products you buy. Very few products/materials are tested as a matter of course, most are subject to random testing if anything.
Personally I have a list of product (types) I wouldn't buy straight from China/other sus sellers just for these reasons.
With the Bandai bubble wrap fidget, the reason for the batteries is that, beyond an extra pop sound , when you press it enough, (every 100 presses) it will ocassionally play a different bonus sound entirely, like say a bell chime or a cat meow.
I have one of those...somewhere, and I found I liked playing with with the battery tab inserted-i like the sound and feel of the buttons alone.
i also have one and it does make the sounds! i don’t think it is every 100 presses though? but i might be remembering wrong anyway
i just keep the battery plastic flap in because i don’t want the sounds
It's simpler (w/o all those fidgets she didn't like) as well. Even though it costs more, I'd go with the Japanese one.
Of course the cheaper item is more satisfying, it's cheaper, that's why. Though, I think, in this particular case, those extra (not very well working) fidgets were just gimmicky fidgets.
10:10 “I love clicky things”
TheClick enters the chat 😂 that could be a very random….but interesting collab haha
I got excited when I saw the flower mandala. In the early 70's we use to buy them in Guam to use in our hair. Put hair in ponytail and wrap, place mandala over and stick chopstick through to help keep hair in place.
I can just imagine: Jackie in a living room watching a movie with her family. A quiet scene comes on and all you hear is Jackie going: EAT IT and the egg *SCHLORP*
That is exactly what my thought was! Gave me a good laugh :)
I had one of those mandala flower things in the 90s! I used to play with it but also wear it in my hair over a bun!! How fun!
"This is not a kids channel"
"So this is how Rock, Paper, Scissors works..."
Yeah, it's funny but some people are from other countries and cultures or are neurodivergent so it's better to explain
You just unlocked a memory from my childhood with that mandala flower. I had one when I was tiny grain and was obsessed with it until my brothers broke it. I have to get a new one now.
I love NerdEcrafters videos!!
I know sika hasn’t been in videos for a long time but while watching the videos sika is in I’m reminded so much of me and my little sister. I’ve been watching her for probably four years at this point and rewatched my favorite videos SOO many times(cash or trash lol) I don’t know if you’ll see this but I love you Jackie! Keep up the good work! 💜
I gotta appreciate the rock, paper, scissors toys acknowledging the playground classic “rock, paper, scissors, gun” 🤣
I love the slime spit thing, I had a little alien one I got from the dollar store and loved it so much. My teachers loved it too! I got it when I was in high school (I’m 23 now) so it was before they were viral. It was like a 2 color alien with the same type of slime.
Mandala flowers were so popular when I was a little grain in elementary school! Mid-90’s. I’m so glad to see them coming back! Me and friends would wear them as bracelets too 🌸
Rock paper scissors lizard spock!😂😂😂
The Mandala Flowers have been around for decades and you'll still find find some expensive ones out there... Why? Because they sell them as hair accessories at Renaissance Festivals, usually with a pretty hair stick or 2... The rings that can roll around on your arms have been around just as long and also sold at Festivals... What I do find interesting is that since they became mainstream items and given the new category of fidget toy, I don't find them as often at Festivals as I used to... Both items used to have rather large (comparatively) price tags attached as well... Like $20-$30 as opposed to the under $5-$10 you can now find them at...
This exactly. I find it weird that anyone would label one of those things 'fake' as if this very same product hasn't been around for literal decades, produced by like a hundred different 'brands'. If one of these was ever a protected design, due to brand/patent laws it wouldn't be anymore now - so it quite literally CANNOT be 'fake'.
I'm here internally screaming "But Jackie you're doing it wrong!" as you're clicking the Bandai bubblewrap thingy. I may be wrong but there is a small button thing at the side that probably turns whatever the feature that needs the batteries on. You may or may not figured it out until the end of the video so if you did then I will edit it later.
Edit: You didn't realize that. AND about the mandala, I used to have one of those back in the 80s, they are quite fun and as I was a child back then I used as a bracelet as well, mine was a light golden color with crystal-like plastic beads, so it really was pretty when I used as a bracelet.
Through the entire mandala flower segment I was thinking this same thing about being a kid with one. We also did the bracelet thing and sometimes we'd clip them around a hair bun.
that bubblewrap one is pretty good too ngl
it's not just clicking noise but also it play random sounds if you play with it long enough
I often got toilet sound or random bark out of it lol
The mandala flower is exactly like a hair accessory I had back in the early 2000s. I got it at the renaissance fair and I swear I used it as a fidget toy more than I ever used it in my hair. Loved that thing.
Jackie: removes battery
Me: Isn't that an on/off switch on the side???
Pat better watch out with you and the unicorn LOL
UNICORN WARS!!!
The butterflies are quite fun as a surprise in a birthday card if giving to small grains. They don’t need to fly far it’s just the effect. I don’t think they are supposed to be fidgets just cute surprises
I bought some of those butterflies because I thought they'd amuse my cat, but they just scared her. Mine did fly, though. Just not for very long.
I bought one of those mandala flower things at Claire's back in the '80s as a hair ornament, but it does make a nice fidget toy.
That rock paper scissors thing is brilliant. My 7yo and pal been fighting because they both want to be leader, just ordered a pack. Arguments hopefully averted 😂
To me, I actually like fidgeting this way, putting things in and out
~Jackie 2024😂
It's funny to see "ring flows" beind fidget toys, I always saw them in juggling conventions. People put them in hoola hoops and do tricks. Pretty nice to look at ❤
See now I'm thinking about international trademark law. Don't look it up! You will want to scoop your eyeballs out with a spoon.
Eww
I searched it up and it wasn’t weird?
I remember when I was about 5 or 6. So about 20 years ago, I had a bubble wrap pop toy that was like that toy. I wanna say I got it from one of those scholastics sales pamphlets. I also remember having it stolen.
I've been eyeing the Gudetama yolker for a while now, thanks so much will be adding that to the cart! 😄
I had a bad day today and was in a crappy mood. Your video came on my home page for the first time in forever and it really helped cheer me up. Thanks for being here ❤️
The D12 squish fidget would be a cool thing to roll for D&D
I can definitely see myself fidgeting with the mandala flower ring a lot & could easily fit it into a hoodie pocket for on the go 🥰🥰🥰
Every like i get i do 1 push up(I'm serious)
29 good luck
45 lol
53 definitely did't like.(lie)
55 😅
64 I do more
Omg the bubble wrap popper speaks to my soul, AHHH
Love how jackie keeps mistaking baby toys for fidget toys.
Wish the content was back to testing creaft kits, those were fun.
Kit is so great! had enough to do all the bears plus a large lucky cat I made; and I still have paint so thinking what to pour on next!
I use to have a hulk ball launcher thing and my cats use to play fetch with them 😂
I have that book! I had those twisty metal flowers growing up; they tell you that the shapes you make are like planets and other cosmic stuff. Both of mine are currently broken, so it’s nice to see they still exist.
I love the egg spitting slime, I used to have many colors of them, Dollar Tree in the US had them a few years back. I have never found them again, but now I have hope! (Since they’re popular now!)
Maybe the batteries for the bubble wrap thing is for lights? I love your videos ❤
i have one and it’s not for lights! other than it having an extra click sound with each click but every 50 or 100 pops there’ll be a random sound that plays like a bell chime, a water drop, cars passing by or a cat meow!
Jackie: A golden ticket
me: WILLY WONKA!
The Mandala one- I had for years (got it as a gift) and still love it. I lost it ages ago and never found it again, because i didn't know what it was called. Thank you!
omg! the mandala flower! that brings back SOO many childhood memories back in 2000. i would always get these and play with them in the car rides.
I had one of those Mandala Flowers as a kid! I loved it because you could do so much with it!
I remember having the flower mandala one when I was a kid! I loved it!
I think the big cube is actually a baby fidget toy.
I would love it if Jackie did a Top 10 best fidget toys or a recap of all the toys she's loved the most.
I had the mandala flower when I was young! This brought back so many memories. I may need to buy myself a new one!
They look like so much fun thx for making this video 😊
Jackie imma need more of those stickers from your kit but i already brought ya kit 👁👄👁
Thanks as always, Jackie!
The flower fidget used to me a hair accessory lol and a bracelet back in the 90s
The flower mandala thingy had a big resurgence in Toronto in the late 80’s early 90’s, and they were actually decently made. Mine has little metal beads and the metal (appears to be) is a higher quality. Still have it 30 odd years on, and it still moves smoothly!
The Mandala has my heart. I had one as a child in the early to mid 90s. Played with it so much I had about 5 of them! 😅 I loved them and had no idea they still made them. 😊
And I only bought fakes a few times. The major one I remember was a action figure and I could tell right away he was a fake just by the sculpt and paint job as well as a helpful video on RUclips.
Hi Jackie🎉
I wonder if the battery bubble wrap one, lights up? Was there a missed switch by chance?
As someone with misophonia who hates overly loud fidgets, I appreciate you testing the dice one. If they made quiet ones in d20 form I’d love it at mt D&D table
I have one of the butterflies and I play with it with my cat !! Hold the bigger end and twist the smaller side! I think that helps with the direction the butterfly flies in tbh!
you playing with the Morph toy looks so surreal it almost looks like an animation edit you put in afterwards. yet its real! so trippy! 😁
You just unlocked a memory from my childhood with the flower mandala toy ,i used to wear them in my hair for dance ,and used to fidget with it all the time! mine had tiny glass beads on it and it was silver i think :3
They should make a d20 version of that dice so I can play the most obnoxious dnd game ever.
Rare footage of nerdy crafter, finally giving a 10 out of 10
I had one of those flower things 20 years ago from a gift shop, it was my favorite thing ever in middle school.
The butterfly has to be inside an object to push itself off and it works fantastic in like a card like they said
17:46 had one of those as a kid in the 90s. Wore it like a bracelett 😊
That mandala flower thing was everywhere when I was a kid. I'm 34 now sooooo like 25 years ago
I love your content Jakie
The flower mandala unlocked a core childhood memory. I had a blue one when I was a kid and completely forgot about it until this video. I don’t remember where I got it either the book fair or Cracker Barrel maybe.
That second toy clicking was amazing
Definitely the morf one just because it is so unique
I still have that mandella flower figet toy that I got as a kid
And now I have to go buy one of those flower mandala things. Thanks lol
some of these look so cool!!!
I also have ADHD and the sound of her clicking though little cube just made me just so sleepy and happy 11:58
ADHD club
For the bubble rap fidget the one that you call fake is the real one :D
I also had one of the mandala toys. Mine was from a festival (of nations) in the late 90s. Looked a little better quality than the one you got, but same shape.
Luv ur vids jackie❤
Wow, love your videos so much ❤❤❤❤❤
This is a super good idea because this might save us money LoVE your vids
For the rock paper scissors fidget toy the “invincible” is actually supposed to be a gun! Its an added element to the game from the saying “rock, paper, scissors, shoot!”
Gun beats scissors, rock beats gun, and paper is a draw
I just commented something similar to this but I’m used to the gun beating everything and being invincible, which is why we never use it or else every one would constantly use it and there would never be a winner or loser
The Popper is fascinating and hilarious.😂😁
The mandala flower fidget toy reminds me of my 80 bun hair cage that I still use.
Thanks for this ❤
Happy Tuesday, Jackie=3 Thank you for a great video=3
Awesome reviews, it’s nice to know that you can get the same quality or use out of cheaper products too.
I love the purple wire one you gave 10/10 that looked fun to fidget with. What was it mandala flower?
Thanks for sharing, Jackie. Hope you have an amazing week 💖💖
Mandala flower🥰
9:03 i prefer the white bubble pop noise but i would get the blue one because it’s cheaper and portable
I have that purple fidget toy, but In orange and I love itttt
The one shooter toy reminds me of the Koosh shooter that Rosie O”Donell had on her show. Those were fun. I used mine with my cats.
The fidget cube one is like one I got that is for my toddler nephew that was targeted for toddlers. The bright colors and bigger pieces because of their motor skills like bigger crayons for younger kids
I had got one of those FX fight toys at my local Walmart, and it came with two. I grabbed the one that made no noise at all……And when I got home it was actually an accident! But most of them were like that, but the second one was amazing😊
In the US you can buy that unicorn thing but different animals that spit balls from a dollar store, it was $1 awhile ago.
HELP i havent seen your videos since like 2016, i used to watch this all the time when i was little lmao
The unicorn popper is identical to the cat toy I got about 15 years ago. Same rainbow ball but covered in catnip.
I love the bear kit it was so much fun and I love the stickers
Lol not me imagining Jackie ordering another lil yellow suction dude just so she can watch the slime go from one to the other 😂😂😂😂
It is my first time watching you and your video was really good
You’re my favorite RUclipsr in the whole world
All of the fidget toys I have are either vintage or they were previously tested by Jackie. Very happy with the previews so I don't waste money.
27:50 i once saw this in a bell sprout version. more fun than I thought
These mandala flowers, we've had them since I was a child in Eastern Europe. You could find them in every cheap store or street vendor. I am not sure about now, but I would say they're easily found.
Poor pat just sitting on the couch watching tv and here comes Jackie like pop pop pop with the unicorn welll at least that would be me and my hubby😂😂😂
