The broken double kick pattern that Don Tardy does in this track is one of the most memorable moments in double kick metal history in my opinion.

Donald also deserves the weirdest approach to a drumkit award his 1 backwards stick and the way he holds them so high up from the ends ,the way he hits his cymbals too it all just looks weird but that said...not many could pummel with so much groove back then the 1st 3 albums were gold
@@neilmac3731 Yeah! I guess a big part of his dynamics on right hand comes from that quite high grip. Hihat doesn't come that loud so kick and snare get more punchy. His playing is surely fun to watch..
Tardy has a great sense of dynamics. Can't wait for the new album to drop.
I'd say he's a must-listen for any drummer wanting to play metal of any flavor.

Donald Tardy is not only a Death Metal drummer icon but has a very unique groove and sound and is just as unique and recognizable as Trevor's guitar tone and John's voice and its extremely hard to replicate them but Delta did a exemplary job 🤘🏼❤️

I remember drumming to Donald Tardy’s fat death grooves in 1989 with ‘Slowly We Rot’ and then Cause Of Death’ in 1990. Think about that : it’s 32yrs old ... a must for every metalheads’s collection.
