A lot of my dreams have to do with real world problems or subconscious things that I’m holding in. I’ve already experience sleep paralysis and that was something I’ll never forget. It just really sucks because people have their dreams to escape and mine are usually based off work and home/ power struggle/ things were I have no voice, situations were I’m helpless.

Just awoke from a night mare ten minutes ago" my heart rate is very high, I can't take this stuff anymore it's been over 30 years since I started having these night terrors" they seem to be getting worse, hell I'm setting here on a toilet crying my eyes out and I am a very big man. For some reason I am always dreaming about those people in my family who have already passed away. One time I was having a night terror and I actually experienced a heart attack! I awoke from the night mare and I was rushed to the hospital" and after a couple of EKGs" they told me that I certainly had already had a heart attack" and if I were to go home that I was going to die. Try to understand something like that happening when you are just 28 years old' sorry for bothering everyone with my problem.

I can understand your pain. I experience them so bad sometimes as well they make me cry and I myself am a 26 year old man. People who haven't been through it can't understand how vivid they are and once you come back it leaves you with a chill up your spine the entire day. I hope we all one day are able to get passed this because it is indeed terrifying.

@The Perfect Otaku AJ Man I don't know if hardly getting any sleep at all is considered being better! But I am still alive and kicking only by the grace of God , my heart has been given more problems, I have to go back and get some more lab work done to find out the status, but I am trying to hold off until I can get some life insurance, before getting the final diagnosis.
But I will let you know how it turns out.

i have bpd and am finishing my psych degree, and i had no idea that there was a connection between nightmares and bpd. i felt chills when you described the possible topics of bpd nightmares - falling, incomplete tasks, shame, and being chased - because those are ALWAYS somehow integrated into any dream or nightmare I've ever had.
and then the nightmare disorder! i would call those long, vivid dreams of trying to avoid danger "sleep comas" because even if i woke up, i would immediately be too anxious to /not/ finish the dream, and i would go back to sleep. i would end up actually waking up around 4pm - and the nightmare is usually still not resolved by then.
thank you so much for making this video! your descriptions were spot on and have helped me immensely

Nightmares, vivid distressing dreams, terrors, panic, since I was a kid and Sleep paralysis.
Dreaming of traumas and hidden meanings in my dreams of violence and losing things that mean something to me, fear of sleeping because I never knew when the evil shadow demon was coming in my sleep to kill me... BPD is recently my diagnosis... And I always knew these things weren't normal. This video made sense of my life.

I have dreams that people I love are dying next to me or that I must kill them. There are points in my dream where I realize it’s not real but no matter how hard I try the dream keeps going I assume it’s real. I often have to brutally kill other people to survive... it feels so real and terrifying. I am so scared to fall asleep

When I used to have bad dreams as a kid, I would reach that same point of realization. What worked for me was, at that exact point when you realize it’s a dream, clinch your eyes shut tight as you can and then open them a second or two after. It used to do the trick for me. Funny thing is, after a little while of doing this trick, it’s as if my brain caught on that I was able to wake myself this way and tried to stop me by making it less affective, what worked right away once started to only work after a couple or a few tries. Though sometimes when I clinch my eyes in my dream, I stop “seeing” whatever it was, from what I can remember at the time of typing this anyways.
      All the best!

Wow! This is very informative and useful to know! I have had nightmares and night terrors since a little girl. I would have dreams of hands grabbing me:/ By the age of 15, four different adult men had molested me. I am now 63. When I have had night terrors I am unable to speak and even when I try and scream no sound comes out. I'm thankful these bad dreams are not as frequent, but when my 12 year old grandson was living here, he told me that I had nightmares and he tried unsuccessfully to wake me up. He told me I sounded terrified:/

I had a nightmare 3 days ago and have not been able to shake this feeling from this nightmare since. I feel strange and not like myself, I feel that I’m still in this dream. Watching this after I woke up from a nightmare at 4 am. It has gotten to a point where I might wake up and immediately start crying and most of the time when I fall asleep again, the dream continues or I get one that's even worse. I often decide to just stay awake because the sleep that I would get would make me feel even more exhausted, so here I am, at 5 am.

This happened to me and it was a nested dream. I kept waking up to find that I didn’t actually wake up and then tried to wake up again when I wasn’t actually waking up. This happened multiple times. When I tried to stop waking up, telling myself that someone would wake me up eventually, I had a pretty normal dream about a video game I used to play and then was woken up by my sister with a call from my parents. Somehow I knew it was real life, and not just another dream.

I have vivid nightmares every night, most of the time the locations are the same but the circumstances vary.
I am myself and able to make decisions for myself, but unable to effect the dream itself.
Lately I haven't been able to wake up until my sleep self is killed by whatever is chasing me that time.
Last night it was a serial killer who made me play hide and seek.
Once I am awake, I am disoriented for at least an hour. Sometimes I'll vomit from the sheer stress. I used to enjoy them and find the nightmares thrilling. But now that I'm unable to wake up on my own, it's a lot scarier.

I have been diagnosed with BPD and I remember having frequent terrifying nightmares since childhood and it's still happening. In the last week or so I have about 3 terrifying sleep paralysis hallucinatory nightmares. Sometimes I am woken up by 'nobody' tapping me awake, or I hear and see things that are not there you'll be surprised that even if your eyes are closed you are able to 'see' , i can even feel tactile hallucinations during sleep paralysis. Sometimes I can feel myself getting choked or having nails digging into my skin. I can hear ghastly voices talking to me while having sleep paralysis. Perhaps these nightmares are spiritual in nature.

@@donnekasteadman2983 Listening to King James Bible audio while I am sleeping and falling asleep really helps me and I still do it and recently bought a 62 cd set of Alexander Scourby reading the KJV. I bought a wonder Bible with a little speaker too and I use that too even during the day or walking around and it helps and I learn quite alit about the Bible and even where to locate things in there easier Also, praying before bed. When my parents were able they would pray for me I remember and they would put annointing oil (olive oil I think) on my forehead and above my bed and the doorposts and window and pray for Jesus to help me and dispatch angels to help me. FreeavBible. com website is great in my opinion because they have the audio matched up with words onscreen and it's really nice. The Bible is on here too (youtube) and I have it complete and in order in a playlist and also phone apps can work good too. Especially the ones that let you download it so you can use it even with no available internet. Please pray before bed too in Jesus Christ Holy name and if you are not currently please believe on Jesus Christ and his death, burial and resurrection. He came so we could be forgiven of our sins and have eternal life with Jesus in Heaven. Jesus lived a sinless life and was born of a virgin named Mary and gave his life for us on the cross in our place and is coming again soon in the clouds on a white horse as a righteous judge🙏 God bless you Donneka my friend. I have had nightmares my entire life. Seasons of fear to go to bed and fear of sleeping. Sometimes you can’t wake up. Most of the time in danger, but I can’t get anyone to understand we have to leave and escape. Lots of times I wake up and am terrified. It’s all I can do to move and rush to turn a light on (1/2 the time I’ve fallen asleep on the couch.)
I’m 65. At 55 diagnosed with Bipolar type 2. At 57 with ADD. I had to retire early. 2-3 years ago New intrusive memories began forcing themselves to the surface. 15 months ago diagnosed with CPTSD. I had never even heard of it. Have a great therapist and have taken several CBT classes. These are very helpful for coping strategies and understanding.
Last session, my doctor said she thought I may have BPD. I really don’t know if I was misdiagnosed or if I have both. Dealing with this terrifies me, but I don’t care. If I have to spend the rest of my life working on this, fine. Starting a DBT class in February.

I have a diagnosis of BPD but I no longer have these disorders. I struggled with both nightmares and dream anxiety as a child. Now that I see this it may have been a risk factor for BPD although I also experienced child abuse. I had horrible nightmares with all kinds of monsters. One reoccurring dream that I remember having was hearing my name whispered from a dark closet or room. I was often scared to fall back asleep and would wake my parents up which they rarely responded kindly to. It got so bad that I experienced lucid dreams where I would consciously try to wake myself up. If that didn’t work, I would resort to dying in the dream by either letting the monster catch me or jumping off of a building. Sometimes I would wake up in a dream and only realize I was still dreaming when things felt unreal or started to go bad again. I would then wake myself up only to find myself in another dream. It was horrible.

I have the same experience as you, I still get nightmares every now and then, but nothing close to the terrifying monsters I saw at night as a child. I'm sorry that children go through such terrible things without comfort for so many years. I would stay up as late as I could in fear of falling asleep.

I've been having a recurring nightmare theme for the last 2 weeks. It wakes me up every single night. I've been visited in my sleep by a recurring presence that has told me point blank it won't go away and it's trying to terrorize me. I've felt a recurring fear of harm and great loss. I wake up in the middle of the night and am afraid to go back to sleep because it will still be there. The dreams are very vivid and horrifying and I don't know what to do. I just wish I wasn't dreaming at all.

Having extremely vivid dreams , nightmares about tornadoes , earthquakes , natural disasters and family dying it's so intense and leaves me dazed and confused for the first half of the day sometimes they are so jaring, I've been told I most likely am schizophrenic or bpd with depression by my last family doctor but haven't been truely diagnosed , I've also been in horibble relationships and experienced the worst heart break from these relationships , I am still fighting along though but when sleep is your only escape sometimes from the world it makes it almost a living he'll to know that you can't have any solice or peace weather your awake or asleep it's extremely exhausting and seems so hopeless and I'm so tired of living my life in fear and complete despair, I can't have any relationships with women or quality relationships with family or friends because of this , man I can only pray this becomes better and trust in god and have faith , there are some days that are good but the bad far out number the good so I just bid my time and try and stay as positive as possible in my current state

I had a dream when I was facing a hacker on my game, and he took over my entire console and my other devices such as my phone, laptop, etc. My parents weren’t home in the dream at the time, so I went online and tried to get help for my situation. But the hacker blocked access from the websites I was trying to use, which caused me to feel nervous and scared, terrified on how my parents were gonna react. I then woke up panicking, I felt really tired, I felt destroyed, and in general I felt weird.

Thank you so much for this, it's an area I have never looked into. I've had bad nightmares/sleep paralysis/anxiety/panic attacks during/around sleep but just tried to accept it as something I have to put up with. I have taken mental health courses on sleep hygiene and things but the typical advice never helped me. I needed to have sound on or have someone pet me to sleep (or just be tired). Sadly my brain just views bed as a bad thing so I really struggle to sleep in it.
I will be sure to bring this up when I start therapy. I've been in and out of therapy since 2006 and not a single therapist has spoken to me in depth about my sleep. Thank you! I hope it is something that can be fixed! Having restful nights and less frightening/painful dreams sounds bliss.

I try but it doesn't happen very often. I have been diagnosed with BPD, Bipolar 1, PTSD, anxiety, major depressive disorder, panic attacks, social anxiety, agoraphobia. I definitely have issues going anywhere even the grocery store. I had a DNA test they found out I have barely any sertonin( happy chemical) I have been on every medication they have for depression nothing works. every meds they have for bipolar, and Don't work. I've been trying lithium on it 4weeks doesn't work either. I haven't been able to get thearapy everyone says I'm a tough case. No one has helped me been going there for 3 years and nothing no coping skills at all. I just want to get help that specializes in these areas. was told that this is the last med I haven't tried lithium.

My nightmare was being tooken to " school " at 10:57 at night so I could finish my homework. On the outside it looked like my uncle's house. but on the inside it looks like this mansion and it was really hard to get around. I run down the hall and find my favorite teacher Mr. Young watching the cameras to go to my uncle's house ( which is apparently the school ) I go back to get my sister and everyone had already left. Did I hear barking and whining so I go and look out the window. At first I thought they were dogs. but they turned into the puppets from Elmo and started trying to climb into the window. I ran back to try and get mr. Young but he wasn't there. Then I woke up.
( I'm not even joking I'm horrified of those Elmo dudes!!!! )

Uhmm I don't know to whom or to where I can ask for help. I've never been to a psychologist to check my mental health situation, but throughout my life, I'm always having a bad dream, and bad experiences in which it made me always nervous, scared, and not always focus in my tasks. I'm always confused and feel lifeless whenever I wake up. I also don't even know the purpose of myself for getting up of bed. I just woke up as I'm typing this comment, and I want to share what was my dream about. I dreamt about family gathering or reunion. Everyone seemed enjoying throughout the gathering, and I'm just sitting on the couch as I watch them enjoying themselves with other's company. As I look at them, my eyes got attention to this guy and I saw him looking at me, starring to me, he was like thinking deeply as he look at me. When I saw him, I went to every part of the house and I always see that he's always following me and I decided to go to my room and take a warm bath to relax my mind. When I completely removed my clothes, someone hugged me from the back and when I look, it was him. I got scared and I don't know what to do, afterwards I see something flickering behind of us and I forced myself to move away from the guy and I fell down on the floor and then there I saw a kid who's taking pictures of us. I suddenly ran into the kid and chase him. I cried and cried and begged for the kid to remove the photo because it was a misunderstanding. When the other people in the gathering see the picture of me, the feel disgusted and tell to many negatives things about me and infront of me so after that, I decided to lock myself on my room and never speak to anyone. I was so scared, and nervous by that time. My family even think that I'm already dead, but one time when I get up to my bed and went to the mirror in my room, I saw myself- too skinny, and looks like I'm already dead. I cannot hold my dream anymore so I immediately wake up. I wake up with so much tears falling down in my face. I'm also sweating and shaking as I woke up. I don't know what to do anymore. And this is what I'm always dreaming, like someone is always chasing me and I'm always get caught until my dream became to disturbing until I cannot hold it anymore. I always feel helpless. Please help me.

90% of dreams are man made by electricity. Here are the values:
The frequency in Hertz of the dreams are around 300Mhz for the high and around 7 hz for the low value.
The electric field values on my sleeping bed of each dream range from 40-70 v/m a set of 4 or 5 values before the peak which can be usually around 120 V/m and can go up to 400 V/m if the want to wake you up or shake your heart.
Especially if you have excess toxic conductive metals like silver or copper.

Once I’m asleep I have no connection with my body or anything that happens outside of the dream. I’m begging you please help me. It’s night time as I write this and I’m crying, I don’t want to sleep. My mom keeps saying that she is working on it but it doesn’t feel like it. I tell her over and over again that I don’t want to sleep but she forces me to. She says it’s not an option and I need to sleep. I know that deep down she is try her best to help me but I can’t take this much longer. Every time I wake up my mind is flooded with my nightmares, haunting my whole day till I have to go to sleep again and dream up a new nightmare to haunt me the next day. It’s to much, my impressions of people and memory’s of them is starting to get flooded with nightmare versions of them. It’s getting harder and harder to tell what’s real or nightmare.

Therapist and psychiatrist don’t believe I have it, but they don’t see me at my worst. They say I don’t have it but only see once every couple of months. I'm not sure if this is relevant but basically I get these night terrors but instead of it being like a demon or a zombie its mental pressure and anxiety but it's so stressful and insane that you can't think straight, anyways I wil explain how the night terror goes,so,everything's dark and your not really in a body your kind of like, watching a video in full screen and so your about to go into final form to save the planet or somthing and it's really important and if you mess up then your fucked, anyways as I say that I'm going to ascend or something like that,I completely mess up and a HUGE wave of fear, anxiety and stress and embarrassment hits me and I try to fix things but everything is getting worse and there are people around me that are scared and confused and I'm trying to make things right but it just doesn't work and I wake up sweaty,in tears and THEN my family tells me that I was walking around the house terrified and completely confused (I commonly get night terrors ) and so it has been happening to be for a long time, please tell me what's going on,I also have a hard time falling to sleep, you will probably never see this though...

I’m still not sure to this day what it feels like to have i guess what i’ve discovered is called an anxiety dream, but they way you explain it in pretty sure these are what i’ve been getting ever since elementary school, they only come once in a while but when they do it’s usually only when i have a dream about something that would definitely cause anxiety in real life. I would wake up and feel like everything is seriously fake, and everything is just so large and i always seem to freak out the most is when i start thinking about my hands and how big they are and just how everything is so weird especially myself. I’m obviously panicking the whole time i’m awake and trying to get back to sleep feels like such a CHORE. this time i went and talked to my mom but she didn’t understand and told me to just go back to sleep. it could be Derealization ( i’ve been feeling this more and more randomly these days ) at the same time of my panic and anxiety attack i’m not sure, but it would be nice to see if anyone else goes through this too.

I have intense dreams but I eat red meat or drink alcohol to dull them when I feel overwhelmed.
I try not to eat anything too greasy or spicy before bed.
I don’t take meds because it made me feel more paranoid and CBD oil saved me from my phobias and BPD. I try not to complain or blame and just accept and absorb with non judgement whatever comes to me.

    Interesting...
●there seems to be a lot of similarities between the symptoms of BPD and PTSD. I'm a little confused to be honest. I've only been diagnosed with ptsd due to a few varying moderate-severe traumas I've had.those traumas directly cause the night terrors and insomnia I am told... but idk
    ● I've had night terrors since around 4years old that have lessened but not totally gone away , and I'm in my late 20s. My fiance tells me often how he hears me yelling and crying in my sleep and sees me seizing too. My dreams are usually about someone trying to hurt me and/or my children, someone stealing my kids, and someone stabbing shooting drowning choking me. I have chronic pain issues and central sleep apnea that cause me to wake up many times a night and they seap into my dream world.
    ● as a background, I've been diagnosed with PTSD, insomnia, severe central sleep apnea with hyper -somnolence , ASD, MDD, psychogenic seizures, general anxiety disorder, and panic disorder.
    ● I have a fear of sleep due to my night terrors, nightmares, and the sleep apnea where I literally completely stop breathing on average 50times an hour. (Yes my ahi # makes it a very severe case and can be fatal)
    ● my biggest fear , that is unfortunately rational, is that I will never wake up and I will die leaving my children and fiance behind so that terrifies me more and keeps me awake . I'm only sleeping 3-4hours at night. With my hyper somnolence during the day and breathing issues , I am constantly falling asleep while in the middle of tasks like cleaning, cooking, and watching tv. My eyes will roll uncontrollably and the extreme fatigue is almost painful. This severity is new for me I've only had it for about 2 years now.

Read Jesus Prayer before bed, if you want to sleep in peace:
      “Our Father in heaven:
      May your holy name be honored;
      may your Kingdom come;
may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today the food we need.+
Forgive us the wrongs we have done,
as we forgive the wrongs that others have done to us.
Do not bring us to hard testing,
but keep us safe from the Evil One.’

Have you done a video targeting the topic of people diagnosed with BPD and having jealous feelings or retroactive jealousy in romantic relationships? I suffer from severe jealousy and paranoia about people that my boyfriend used to be involved with. This worries me because I know that narcissistic people tend to get really jealous as well, and I really hope that this doesn't mean that I'm narcissistic. I need some help with this issue and I've been trying to get the help I need for months about it now

I seem to have a sleep issue that is odd. Because of nightmares but also because of obsessions with doing certain activities and finding time to be alone, I sometimes avoid or deny myself sleep. I also use lack of sleep as a self-harm outlet. I call it Sleep Anorexia. I don’t know how to combat this. Does this happen to anyone else?

Please can you explain the impact of menopause if you are borderline. My menopause lasted 10 years, I am now 60 and still wake up drenched in sweat about 5am. I think I must be dreaming anxiety. You can understand these things.

The answer would be too long to put here but there is evidence of BPD mood and other fluctuations during one's cycle. I would suggest charting your mood, temperature, sleep quality, and other issues for a few months and see your trend. I wish you well.
